- unloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13:-( Maybe they'll change their minds once films start selling, but this sucks.

i mean c'mon, the list goes on and on... well, at least long enough for me to bide my time until they realize that they made a (market) mistake by not including their new releases.
*digg me down for the augmented list, oh, and the drivel... - gharding, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Like hell am I paying $10 for Black Sheep or Airplane! when I can go dig around in the Wal-mart $5 bin and get it on DVD.
- Phoenixfury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I agree that they'll likely change their mind if and when they do sell more online. They are just worried about Wal-mart bullying them around for the time being. I think if their back catalog sales do well, they may jump in with their new releases with out fear of what any brick & mortar store says, because they'll make a profit regardless.
- sonaro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's Ok, it's a start. There will still be plenty to choose from!
- Splutterbug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3In the UK our version of itunes has a couple of Pixar shorts and some music videos. No movies or TV shows at all. Couldn't care less though I'd rather buy the DVD and use handbrake if I really wanted to watch it on an ipod. Unless they start selling HD video throuh itunes I can't see the itv thing doing too well over here, it basicaly screams download your video illegaly as we won't sell it to you.
- thatrez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Piracy - The better Choice (tm)
- virtualball, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yeah, theres no reason for them to not sell new releases... What's there problem, do they think that it will hurt DVD sales (which wouldn't make sense because they are selling the videos for the same price but don't have to pay for the boxes/DVD's/pamphlets and more..) WTF Paramount?!
- DDRRE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2errr
DVDs and CDs ARE digitized. - ross., on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Same here in Australia...between the iTunes store, the iPhone and the Apple TV, Apple USA and Apple internationally are taking two very different paths here.
- DDRRE, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2umm...
I'm sensing a wave of iPod fanboys.
All comments that say that DVD > iPod Video get dugg down, yet comments saying the opposite get dugg up.
Weird.
DVD > iPod^5.
5$a = High quality video, subtitles, extras, high quality sound = DVD
5$b = Low quality video, medium quality sound = iPod Video
5$a > 5$b - Diganta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@DDRRE
Maybe he's referring to those 30cm Laserdiscs : ) - twinn233, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is pretty surprising. I don't see why they would only go half way on this. I do however prefer DVDs to a digital download.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4BREAKING NEWS : iTunes does not have porn either !!!!111!!1 OMFG !!1one
Sheesh, slow news day I guess. - Zero2aHero, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7I understood Vanilla Sky quite well, and still thought it was pretentious garbage... it makes you sound like an elitist prick to say that people who didn't like it must not have understood it
- cleverboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That's not true, dude. You can find bargains anywhere.
This is about convenience, silly moppet. - jballer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, instead of "Paramount is selling movies on the iTunes Store!" they should've said "Paramount is NOT selling new releases on the iTunes Store!" Great idea.
Regardless, those back-catalog films are still better than a lot of recent films. - BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1I just bought Wayne's World 1 and 2 at Best Buy for a grand total of 15 dollars. That includes commentaries on both and a host of other features. If you buy anything from them through iTunes you must be a sadomasochist, because you're getting RAPED.
- cleverboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok, just so long as they update this stance by the time Transformers ships, I'll be o'tay.
I'd certainly get Transformers for $12.99 on pre-order. Sign me frickin' up... I'm thinking, what... maybe January 2008? - Yupp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Dugg for iTunes availability of KHAAAAAN!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah...turn this into a GOOD thing. Forget the fact that you can own the DVD for about half the price of a download.
- ieatsmurfs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think he's referring to they didn't announce Paramount would only be selling back catalog movies. I looked at the list the other day and didn't even see that many Paramount movies up (only like 5 or so, is it just taking them a while to add them?)
Shame they are only releasing back catalog movies, couple new releases I wanted to see, and I much prefer digital distribution over DVDs.
Hopefully they do release Indiana Jones, my sister took my discs with her when she moved last year =/ - mobilehavoc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That's because Paramount's recent releases are on the Xbox Live Marketplace...i.e. Mission Impossible III.
- GoBack2Europe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3wiggity wack
- javier182gt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I personally think that the Paramount movies they have are usually one's you can not find on torrents. One that I have looked for time and time again is Breakfast at Tiffany's and well they have it. I usually like to own movies that I know I will watch again. I think it is awesome how eventually everything will be digitized. I am not very good with keeping CD and DVDs intact and unscratched. Thats just me.
- angusware, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0They mentioned this in the keynote. How did it get lost? Will indiana Jones be available?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Yeah...you notice how it is only crappy movies that people say that about?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2I want to see An Inconvenient Truth. I have torrented it, but I think it would be good to help spread the message.
- FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1yet
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1loquedesea....yeah...I am sure you were just sitting there thinking about how you REALLY wanted to pay $10 a not quite DVD quality download of all those movies, with no extras at all...despite the fact that almost ALL of them can be bought at Walmart for $5.50.
(And you are looking forward to getting Face/Off? Virtuosity? I think most video stores will pay YOU to take them off their hands. And David Spade wouldn't even buy Black Sheep. It is an emarrassment is HIS career...if that is even possible.)) - jesuschrysler, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1i own ipod, yes but phone maybe i am also buy?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5Vanilla Sky is the best movie Paramount has released. Simply amazing! (if you can understand it)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2i prefer bittorrent
-z00k - userjan1, on 10/12/2007, -22/+3i am diggin cuz "bush" is not in the title or responses, yay
