a. why are you here b. why are you posting a comment c. why did you just waste my time? - drunkentoad, on 10/12/2007, -8/+80Good thing there isn't any lyrics from The White album in iSquint. Otherwise you'd have to be on acid just to figure out how to use it.
- paulisnotdead, on 10/12/2007, -11/+75ah good times
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -16/+79i love the beatles
- dfunct, on 10/12/2007, -1/+594 words why Ringo is awesome - Thomas the tank engine
- Rfriaz, on 10/12/2007, -7/+53I'm really liking that comeback.
- dchomper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38I wonder how long before they're hit with a lawsuit for "illegally distributing copyrighted lyrics".
- 13B1303, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35We're talkin about the Beatles here... I don't think there is any segment of the world population that their music wouldn't strike a chord with (pardon the pun).
- MercuryOne, on 10/12/2007, -3/+32Really underrated song
- bouche, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28I was about to call NERD for "Best Help Menu ever", but as a Beatles fan, I'm very happy to see this. Nice!
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28gtfo
- insovietrussia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22Check the Last.fm charts out sometime. The Beatles still manage to rank in the top three most listened to artists - week after week.
http://www.last.fm/charts/ - hamstu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25I could actually hear the song play in my head when I read that.
I love The Beatles. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+27Because the wind is high it blows my mind
- Ibox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23The RIAA will be all over this.
- Murphy52589, on 10/12/2007, -5/+24My menu would be " ***** i hate computers sometimes" or "i'm too old for this *****" for the old people
- jeremyonfire, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21if it was the "worst" waste of your time, doesn't that mean that it didn't waste your time very much at all?
- AssProphet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19It isn't
- DoTheFandango, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Or what.
- ajchavar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16as soon as i saw this head i new it was for isquint, they do a couple fun things with their menus. just a note about the app, it is pretty phenomenal, its big brother, visual hub, is remarkable too.
- kjm16, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16Insert: ***** the RIAA!
- stlcadet11, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Yes, because it is only permitted for children these days to have fun... wtf are these programmers doing?? Those sneaky bastards!
/sarcasm - SizzorB, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I've had iSquint for a few months now and have never noticed that...
- greyfade, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9underrated MOVIE.
- shazbot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Or you would think it's a prophetic message like Charles Manson :)
- Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8dugg up for the obvious statement of what "Help" is for.
- shazbot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Dude Apple and The Beatles are great for each other. The founders of both were on LSD, and went on to revolutionize the world in their field.
- packerbacker89, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Holy *****.
I've been humming that song in my head all day. And now it appears on this pic. no, i'm not joking.
Is that freaky or what? - oriolesfan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Very creative. Good to see that some programmers know how to have fun.
- ggko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The warning finkployd mentions and some of the other dialogue text in iSquint:
/* Advanced Warner */
"advanced" = "Warning: Changing settings in the Advanced drawer may create videos that are incompatible with the iPod.
Each of the settings in the Advanced drawer can work alongside the Easy Settings. Anything left blank will just use the defaults.
You'll need to quit and relaunch iSquint to cancel all these out.
...but you're just too cool for the defaults anyway, right?";
/* Cancel Boxes and OK */
"cancelsheet" = "Oh well. It was fun while it lasted...";
/* Bad Time Remaining Estimate */
"badestimate1" = "...looks like I lied. File ";
"badestimate2" = " will be done when it's done..."; - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4ARGH, just as I opened the FLICKr page was loading, the radio burst into 'help! I need somebody'
then it loaded!
~shudder~ - adc86, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Haha... My brother put that in one of his apps. This is another one:
http://andrewclink.com/images/stop.png - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5oh, yeah, sorry for just saying nostalgia. I thought you all would get that. For those of you that didn't, use iSquint and you will.
- goeatsmsht, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Some dipstik on Flickr thought it was to a new Linkin Park song
- Ankh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Are you the developer of iSquint?
- NobleArc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Yay! Beatles! :D
I'm usually hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't like the Beatles. I mean, they're out there, I *have* met a few who dislike their music, but that's usually due to it being overplayed.
But, as usual, the internet opens the doors to the all the people you'd rather not meet in the world. - synned, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@onanymouse
Is your keyboard uh... broken? - georgiepiebob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@shazbot
true, but how many times has Apple sued Apple? - demodawid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If a story gets many diggs in a short period of time, it gets to the frontpage sooner than one who gets more but in a longer period. It's how the popularity algorithm works.
- irregardless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I agree that since that since iSquint's help menu doesn't provide any actual help, it could qualify as the worst help menu ever. Unless there's one that does more hindering than helping, I'd say it takes the cake in that category.
But that doesn't make iSquint's help menu any less clever or amusing, because the point of its help menu is not to provide help at all. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Just another day in the life
- danpat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2iSquint = great
VisualHub = awesome
Techspansion are awesome developers, and obviously have fun doing it. - ilgaz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3In fact the error message in application kills me too. It has 2 selections which basically means "OK" in fact
"Acceptance" "Denial" - ChumpChief, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Three, so far.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Corps#Legal_battles_with_Apple_Computer - ilgaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you need a documented/helpful program, you buy the real thing named VisualHub by same team.
That is the way of politely and satirically saying "help is not available" but it needs sort of brain. - RedHerringHack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Help menus are there for psychological support anyway. How often do you get real help from one? At least this one cheers you up. Dugg. Now where's my Ipod.....
- Takuro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I guess this is sort of interesting, but I find a lot of the app's little surprises annoying. There are a lot of nags to get VisualHub. Basically, the idea is that if you're using this free app, you aren't entitled to help. VisualHub has a fully functional help menu.
Either way, good app, quirky and annoying dev. - ummagummas08, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Haha I totally saw this like just last week. Weird coincidence. I thought it was really friggin cool when I saw it.
