- ChromaVita, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18BREAKING NEWS: The iPhone can send text messages.
And if you want a phone that functions just like the Blackjack, why not buy the Blackjack? If you don't like a phone that you have to stare at the whole time, then don't buy it. That's exactly why I'm not buying one. But instead of saying that the phone should completely change in order to better suit me, I'll just look for a phone that does. - philippbock, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11I’m sorry, but the OpenMoko lacks the iPhone’s most essential feature: style. Please don’t tell me the OpenMoko’s beatiful, because it’s just not. (Yeah, I know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but still…)
- DeathJux, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I'm using Safari and it works just fine. Try again.
- Radan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Why oh why, didn't they include the iPhones most important and most ass kicking application out there; Telekinesis. http://code.google.com/p/telekinesis/
Telekinesis lets you completely control your computer, may it be over lan or the internet. You will even see a screenshot of how your computer looks like while you are controlling the mouse. You may also stream both music and videos from your iTunes library to your iPhone.
- TomFrost, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Hear hear! That's the best iPhone related comment I've ever read. No one -- not even Apple -- ever claimed that this phone was for everyone. Some people put a whole truckload of value on interface design and sleek looks, and the iPhone is great for them. It's not *wrong*, it's just what they prefer. Conversely, people who need to use the phone under the desk or while driving probably wouldn't like it. Use it if you want to, don't if you don't. It really is that simple.
- iamdeirdre, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Stop spamming this on EVERY article you read!
- dmbfan2007, on 10/10/2007, -2/+710. Douse it in gasoline and take a torch to it. You have just mastered your iPhone.
- soupir, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Tilt" could be the "Portal" of the iPhone! Except without the graphics or fun.
- Sharky35, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Buried for not following the rule of 10. And you forgot to say TOP TEN.
- TomFrost, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4This is the second article I've seen you spam that nonsense in. Welcome to my block list. And as a parting gift, a tip: the Capslock button is located above your left shift key.
- goldenratiophi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Uh... is it just me or are most of these really kinda lame/useless?
- dgblackout, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5you sir, fail at the internet.
get out of my tubes. - Slovenian6474, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Bury this to hell.
- aaronfleishman, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2If I'm paying $600 for a phone, it better look damn good. I would pay a lot less for style or functionality alone, but at that cost it needs to have both. No way you can say functionality is far more important at the iPhones price point.
- Slovenian6474, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Openmoko began selling the first gen a few weeks ago.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4They have to hack it to do those things? My god.
- FaytlND, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Style is probably about 5th on my list of "most important things" when it comes to buying a tech device or gadget. Functionality is far more important than "beauty", especially if I am paying $600.
- hughesj919, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3theres only one hack that will make me the master of the iphone...
...a serious price hack. - Azap, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Im not gonna speak pretty :Tilt looks stupid
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4"the most significant consumer electronics product ever."
What the hell??? How can he forget the walkman. - lateralus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2He's using Intrawebz 2.0
- iceblademan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Here here
I second that - skyscape, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2What this PROGRESS means to me is that the phone is full of holes.
Thats why the sales dipped - scheming, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2tilt looks stupid! good try though
- AgentHatchet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Some people just have a hard on for what amounts to an overpriced touch screen nano.
- Slovenian6474, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Call me old fashion, but to me, the most essential feature on any phone is being able to send and receive calls.
- spydirweb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1it is.
- haroldk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Header says: Activate the IPhone Without AT&T
Then in the body it says: Of course, if you don't have an AT&T account, the phone part won't work, but this hack does get you Wi-Fi, web surfing, e-mail and music capabilities.
Then if you drill down to http://nanocr.eu/2007/07/03/iphone-without-att it says: The iPhone does not have phone capability, but the iPod and WiFi work. Stay tuned!
What is the point of activating the phone unless you can USE THE PHONE! (on T-Mobile or elsewhere, even) - madmage, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1To me, the UI of the iPhone is everything. From what I've seen of OpenMoko, it's just like all the other smartphones out there in terms of UI. iPhone does better.
- KennMac, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I didn't think it was possible, but nothing you said above made ANY sense at all.
- russelbutt, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2i love how you have to "hack" the iphone to really have fun with it..
buried as, "the iphone still sucks" - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1What kind of a phone doesn't allow you to send a text to multiple recipients.
- aaronfleishman, on 11/07/2009, -1/+1You mean you can't hear me when I cough into my end of the tubez?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -7/+6Here are additional hacks:
1- trash
2- refund
3- last but not least BLENDER! - ThinkBox, on 10/10/2007, -5/+4whatever you say... *cough*laugh*cough* sexy lee....
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1is it me or are the points just rediculous bull ***** that you can do on EVERY OTHER PDA PHONE?
activate the phone without ATT? WTFing phone requires activation? (dont confuse activating a sim with activating the phone itself)
my PDa phone doesnt even need a sim to have full pda functionality OUT OF THE BOX, this activation is ***** in the first place
use the phone on a business account or prepaid? LMFAO any GSM phone will do that, i can throw in whatever sim i want into my phone as it CAME unlocked, unbranded, european pay as you go sim? sure, already tested that
games in general on phones? please... i shouldnt need to hack the crap out of the phone's OS just to play a GAME. my phone came with 4 games, solitaire, bubble breaker, magicpuzzle and Out of this world (yes the really old game for like 286's) and i can install anygame i want, even without a computer, i download the game's cab file from the developers website and install it. no computers needed at all
store files on my phone? using hacked software? only on mac? WTF? my phone shows up as a removeable flash drive and i drag and drop anything i want, works on any OS, no additional drivers needed - ChromaVita, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3These are better than those hacks that make you the master of other peoples iPhones...
- Sottilde, on 10/10/2007, -8/+4By the time the OpenMoko comes out, the iPhone may have been cracked open just as wide.
- chazuk, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1Tilt looks like a fantastic game!
Goes beck to eemame S60................. - DeeX, on 10/10/2007, -8/+0...um, how are you able to cough on the internetz?
- GraceHead, on 10/10/2007, -14/+6Let me know when you have a hack that lets you send text messages or gives the unit some buttons so that you can operate the phone without having to stare at it. ... or better yet, a hack that knocks half the cost off and makes it function just like a blackjack or similar.
- sexylee, on 10/10/2007, -16/+7iPhone is so overpriced in relation to its capability.
- killiansman, on 10/10/2007, -20/+2THE NEW COMMENT SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK WITH SAFARI!!!
