- defectDS, on 10/12/2007, -6/+43For those who thought this was referring to the card game, here is your new version of UNO:

While I'll grant you the Windows version of Quicktime sucks a lot, tis not the same on OS X. Quicktime is quite handy and useful for those of us who use Macs. Throw in Perian and Quicktime becomes a very nice all in one video playing solution for just about all the media out there and it works well. - rogersmj, on 10/12/2007, -7/+23@Craga and all others bitching about naming it after a card game:
It's NOT named after a card game, you idiots. UNO means "One", or "Unified". Get over yourselves. - Konstantino, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20Awesome! I really hated that Quicktime problem. I'm really glad that the bug has been fixed, plus tons of new GUIs to pick from! (I also had that problem skinning iTunes 7.1).
- Mejogid, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Or, maybe, it kept the same name - derived from the Italian/Spanish for one - that it's had for years. It is, in fact quite an appropriate name since it provides 'one' look for the whole of OS X. So uno's website does, in fact, have quite alot to do with uno.
In future, try not making rude and clearly incorrect statements concerning things about which you have no idea. - Liggmin, on 10/12/2007, -11/+25a classic card game with a new GUI! im in.
- FregTK, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16UNO is a unifed GUI for the Mac. A lot of people want consistency throughout their applications, and as of late, Apple has decided to tweak Aqua for individual programs (Mail, iTunes, and Text Edit all have different user interfaces for example).
UNO fixes this by making those apps all look the same.

- dgblackout, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15an os x interface changer that makes everything unified.
- Derfus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14UNO rules
- Craga89, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16What's UNO?
- bradleyland, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11UNO gets rid of that tired old brushed metal look still littering your interface :)
- ceribik, on 11/17/2007, -0/+7Yes, and that's why this story is in the Technology/Apple section...
- ronaldpoi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Thanks rogersmj!... i installed UNO and actually it fixes it too... still, i'll check Aqua4iTunes since i doubt i'll be using UNO for long time...
- theorem7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6If you're into ShapeShifter, this'll do that for you:
http://interfacelift.com/themes-mac/details.php?id=171 - rogersmj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@ronaldpoi: there is. It's called Aqua4iTunes. Google for it. It makes iTunes 7 looks like the rest of OS X.
- MahRain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You'll make your Vista look like OS X... cool :-P
- panique, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10I actually like the diverse window dressing under OS X. It makes certain things stand out, and a little less visually boring.
Oh and do make sure to bury this if it does not support your view of how the world should be. After all, this is digg, the fascism of crowds. - jackat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Uno is awesome. I've been using this since before it became Uno and was still under another's stewardship. I personally like its very, very nice feel.
- hotdamn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I wish there was a way to have every app use the new iTunes scrollbars. :/
- jtjdt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The site is running somewhat sluggish (For now). Here is a mirror:
http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/722586/UNO15.dmg.zip - cvk_b, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Be sure to make a backup of your userChrome if you use Mozilla before installing. Cheers.
- bakingoven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dugg because its free!
- regeya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome. I can't stand the cognitive dissonance known as the OS X look. Glad to hear there's another version out.
The cynic in me, though, is thinking, "Fix for Uno's QuickTime look? Guess we can expect a QuickTime Software Update on Monday!" - app103, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1If you are looking for the old Uno 1.4 freeware card game, it's at the bottom of the page here: http://stuff.goatdairying.com/programs/games/games.html
- Roybertito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I switched from ShapeShifter to the Smooth Uno installer, and then from there to here.
Even when compared to such gems as NickelCobalt, this is amazing. - elbonito665, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1because of this release, i switched back to UNO (from shapeshifter)
yeay. - Roybertito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh my God it's beautiful.
Mail.app looks so good now. Thank you for this update. - Kanaka, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Still think the about this mac pane could do with a little more 'blending', buttons are too glossy against the grey background. Overall a good update though. Hope we don't have to rely so much on UNO in Leopard. The variation in Tiger's UI is just horrendous.
- ronaldpoi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5I wish there was a way to force iTunes to use the standard MacOS X scrollbars =/
- piwy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5uh right..MOST people... you do realise that MOST people probably don't know either UNO card game or UNO the gui app? to MOST people it's just spanish for the number one. (since unified is unificado en spanish)
- Me1000, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This totally made sexy, sexier!!
- fdbryant3, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6Heh - I was wondering why they needed an update to this card game.
- pplante, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Anyone got a mirror of the release? Their servers got dugg to death.
- dunkin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I kind of agree. It's sometimes to 'remember what you're doing' when everything looks the same.
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -5/+3Thought your icon was Ray Charles...then I though it might be the Kentucky Fried chicken dude....
I am the second person disappointed. - ptFoe, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5damn got excited thinking it was a game
- gage006, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1And here I was thinking this was going to be an update to the Xbox Live Arcade game.
- binaryspiral, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Ah, well yeah... there's that. But who reads that *****?
I just click on stuff and hit reply. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3i wonder if firefox problem is fixed
- binaryspiral, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Uno is the second most popular card game sold in the world... second only to the 52 card poker deck.
Not to say that Uno for the Mac isn't news worthy, but I think it's fair to assume the description of this story dealt with something as popular as that, not a Mac hack. - Justathought, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Bah, I tought this had something to do with the UNO project:
http://udk.openoffice.org/ - leftfield, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Damn, I thought it was going to be the game uno.exe, anyway here is a lot of sites with UNO(1.4) the game http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=uno.exe&btnG=Google+Search
- EvilFerret, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1*****, was hoping it would be the cross platform/Vista release of UNO :( I'll pwn all of you ***** when it comes out
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -8/+2I thought we were talking about the amazing chocolate bar. Wish I had one of those right now....
- wwwdot1jesdotus, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Shouldn't it be "Uno Punto Conco?"
- Nitro2985, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Darn, I thought they had come out with a new version of that great card game.
- drgruney, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Yeah... I was trying to figure out how they could change the game... get rid of the wild cards or something.
I'm really let down. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0Is this better than the Uno I won playing the Grand Prize Game?
