- MarkHarrison, on 07/28/2008, -0/+3Well done Google - another site that has made the (correct in my personal and biased opinion) to release an Ajax version of the site optimised for lowish-resolution screens.
I don't have an iPhone (Lead Us Not Into Temptation), but spend a lot of my life at the moment in airport departure lounges with an ASUS EEEPC and mobile broadband (which is a very effective combination here in the UK.) :-) - rbl00, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3I wonder if Google will come out with a native app for Google Reader?
- charris1980, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2need a native app IMO. i hardly ever open my safari for an iphone site anymore.
- unwesen, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2I don't think that'd bring much in terms of benefits. You'd avoid some of the HTML rendering, but the network traffic would be fairly similar. Well, I haven't run the numbers on this of course...
- Sephr, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Finally! I hated the other iPhone version at the mobile version of http://www.google.com/#reader. It was very hard to read a just read a feed without having to load a new page.
- channi, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1I also use it on my new eee PC from asus. Also looks great and it just fits for the give screen size. Much more enjoyable to read. Good work!
- roguent, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1This beta of Google Reader works GREAT on Opera Mini, too!
http://www.jackpicks.com/2008/07/new-google-reader ... - originalp, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1I would really like it if the articles were marked as read on scroll. But that feature is not available on this mobile version...!
- Azrael84, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Works great on nokia 6110 navigator
- melissajarquin, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1One more reason I cannot wait for the 11th!
- tride, on 10/01/2008, -0/+1well certanly does not work on windows mobile IE
- unwesen, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Yeah, the refresh part is pretty annoying. Still works very nicely altogether :)
- knarfG, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0Compared to the previous version :
- This one is really beautiful and allows the user to stay on the same article while searching for new elements, and that's great stuff.
BUT
It comes also with very annoying regressions :
- The iPhone version can no longer reformat pages when trying to see originals, as per the common mobile version does -> And this is really BAD stuff, because It's just so boring to wait for a complete HTML page to load dozens of ads when you're only running slow EDGE.
- It refreshes itself very often when going back from another window, getting you back to the top of the page each time !!!!! What an annoying behavior ! I have to scroll down and reload new articles. When you're reading after 15th article, it's very frustrating to be put back in a wrong place. I let you imagine when you're on fourth page...
Conclusion : deception. Sorry Guyz, I won't use this one anymore until those two are fixed. Or I'll reach nervous breakdown ;-) - chisaikame, on 11/30/2008, -0/+0i hope rss feeds in AUDIO can be accessed or heard, too. (i don't want to use itunes)
- sjdvda, on 07/17/2008, -0/+0Very good
- imdarthv, on 07/29/2008, -0/+0Great job. Looking for a dedicated app in the future instead of having to go through Safari (not a major pain though) !
- chris10230, on 08/10/2008, -0/+0Excellent work on opera 9.5 beta! now might actually start using it as i hated the normal mobile reader.
- bakeyman, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1Buggy as crap on my non 2.0 iPod touch. Bring back the old reader, please.
- knarfG, on 07/18/2008, -0/+0Yes, as I said, I still rank it as a very good product. Looking after an iPhone 3G to reduce lead time... (here in France, we're still experiencing shortage).
A little room for improvement :-)
