- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Ahh, now I have a mini version of Kari Byron to oggle.............................wonderful :)
- turnlikeawheel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Apparently it is, since you took the time to click the link, then took even more time to post a comment. A lot of people on here like Mythbusters.
- Eldoo77, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11How about Deadliest Catch?
- TheSoupNazi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I love Mythbusters, but I'd also love to see Dirty Jobs be available in the iTunes Music Store.
- jrbrewin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8how dare you refer to steve as dirty!
- rfunches, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Enough with the "what's the point?" threads, it's been repeated a million times on Digg.
Not everyone is tech-savvy enough to use BT, much less find the torrents. I've seen lots of comments on torrent sites along the lines of "so what do i do with this .torrent file" or "it gave me a bunch of useless files with .r00, .r01, .r02" or "it won't download, it says something about a firewall." Not to mention you'd be downloading an unauthorized copy of the work (you can't argue that whoever is seeding over BT does not have permission from the copyright holder -- Discovery Communications -- to distribute the episode(s) and that makes it illegal) and some people don't want to take a chance getting caught. (This, by the way, has also been repeated a million times on Digg.) Besides, if all of these companies are signing up their TV shows on the iTunes video store and iTMS is selling .99 cent tunes like Starbucks coffee, obviously a significant number of people find it a better way to purchase music and TV shows than through BT or other methods. - dWhisper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Given that Mythbusters is perhaps one of the best shows on TV, and more than that, one of the few shows that actually encourages thought and science in a country that's tossed out both values... yes, news worthy.
- EmberX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Adam Savage For President!!!!
I'd love to see Deadliest Catch as well...that show is addicting too. - Gnascher, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Why would anybody want to BUY a discovery channel show? It's going to be rerun about 1,000 times every other hour ... and then they'll do an all-day marathon of it on some holiday weekend.
- bokoboko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Good, mythbusters is a nice time waster, but i hope it won't cost as much to dowload a season as to buying the season and getting the discs. (somwehre around 100 dollars)
- imac12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6And we need more Top Gear here in the States... I'd kill for TG to be on iTunes. It was on TLC for a short run, but they pulled it for whatever reason... bastards.
- jschrab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Ok. I would pay $2 just to see that cement truck blow up. Again. And again. And again. And again.
Best. Ever. - wizpig64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Shark week? yup, there it is
- dWhisper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm still holding out that seasons 2 and 3 will follow the price drop season 1 took (which can be found for around $35). Unfortunately, all discovery shows are expensive, but somehow, the quality seems worth it.
- welvis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Food Network? Pleeeeeeeease? But yes, Mythbusters is a great show for iTuning.
- wupike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4+ digg for Top Gear. Jeremy Clarkson is God!!!1
- kramit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3woo for mythbusters!
we need more of it over here in the UK - smedrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, $1.99 per episode and they have 6 episodes up right now.
- sonofalink, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah, because you can watch it for free on TV. Oh wait, no you can't... its part of extended cable that costs like $40 a month.
- fugitivALiEN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I feel like buying all the episodes just to display my support for the show! I'd like to think of it as a neilson rating where you actually put your money where your mouth is ;) And having the Save-Ums available to download will thrill my kids! Maybe they won't lose my iPod in the trash this time =)P
- moisie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't know why more channels like Discovery don't get in on the iTunes game. The sort of shows that don't have great dvd sales or great resale value. They're not gonna canibalise sales from elsewhere and therefore any sales they do make are a bonus. From apples point of view, ultimately, the more choice they have the better because it makes or more of a viable alternative for people to get their shows from. Even if sales are low for a lot of stuff, so what, how much can it cost to put something on iTunes? Master it once (not hard) then stick it on some hard-drives.
- socbret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yes, but that has to do with what?
- KathyAlbrecht, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Mythbusters is awesome! is it 1.99 like the other shows? I can't look right now im at work.....1.99 for an hour show is pretty good. and what episodes do they have?
- andrew_m, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I reject your reality and substitute my own
- bubbagump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2COOL!!!! I got sick of fox canceling my shows 2 years ago when firefly was pulled...so I pulled the plug. Mythbusters is one of the half dozen shows I miss...
- WVUChrisF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yay mythbusters. Great to see it available somewhere else.
- mcdougrs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ZOMG does this mean that TV execs are actually starting to embrace technology. I know that there are other shows on iTunes but it just makes me happy to see more and more programing available to consumers.
- hecatomb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Now Spike needs to jump on the bandwagon... I want my MXC!!!!!
- zizzybaloobah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I second that as well, and if Alton Brown is going to be president, Paula Deen should be the first lady.
- Truegod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Only 6 shows avalible right now :( I would so get the whole 3 seasons...
- MadOgre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Kari Byron is my Goddess.
- dontbejack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I can die and go to geek heaven because of that.
- FenderGeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I second that! I would totally buy my favorite episodes of Good Eats online. Alton Brown for President!
Oh, Adam and Jamie rock too. - graywolf323, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wish discovery would let us get mythbusters on dvd anywhere besides their own store
- BrewedInTexas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Seriously. Put Good Eats on iTunes and I might actually install it.
- goat-san, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i think its more the fact that its mythbusters, which has a geek following. plus you cant really complain that it is stupid, its on the front page, meaning the people thought it was important. i dugg it for sure
- thepharmacist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1God when will we get TV shows on itunes in Canada ???? Mythbusters FTW
- cheez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1mythbusters is in some form of widescreen... interesting
- cleverboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ha ha... for a second there, I thought I was looking at the iTunes "comment" section under Mythbusters. ;-)
- ihatebillg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is the best way to buy tv. I do not want 10 news channels just to get discovery channel
I can buy just the shows I want for $1.99 each.
if one month I want to buy $40 Worth of TV that is watch worthy I will. - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And you can get Top Gear from BitTorrent using the TVRSS.net feeds.
- galfridus73, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Spiffy. My wife will be happy to see that!
- PDelahanty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1She's engaged.
That sucks. - dWhisper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I buy them, when the price is right. I have an archive of all the shows I've recorded with my Media Center, but I still like getting the full archives. I suppose part of it is supporting entertainment that provides some intrinsic value past the "ha ha" factor.
- Gremlinclr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1They're re-releasing the season sets for cheaper. I recently bought seasons 1 & 2 for $40 apiece at Walmart.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Torrents>*
- aquax, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Top Gear is not cancelled. In fact, episode 1 of season 8 just aired in the UK last week sometime.
- tenaciousD91, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mythbusters is great, gotta love it especially, my favorite the one where they try to launch a confederate rocket
- ArcusOfSV, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Nice!
