More photos of the iPod Vending Machine!
tuaw.com — [via tuaw.com] I've seen the iPod vending machine in San Francisco International Airport. Apparently there's also one on Concourse A of the Atlanta International Airport. I have yet to see one in JFK or LaGuardia, but I suppose it's just a matter of time before iPods become as common in vending machines as beef jerky.

- cjsan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cool, but how would you get any songs on it at the airport?
- Hey15Bob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0laptop...if you can afford to buy an ipod on impulse out of a vending machine, you probably own a laptop. And some airports have WiFi access.
- DanH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you could download songs from iTMS at the same airport
i also noticed they sell wifi cards in the same machine in the picture - Jeebugorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the first one i saw was at GA Tech in the student center there. I was thirsty and hungry and looking for a coke machine or something, and saw the vending machine and was like....why is there CD-r's in a vending machine....then i saw the iPods and was like WTF?!?!?! why are there IPODS in a vending machine!!!
- SillyRabbit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What would be even cooler is if they load these vending machines with individual songs that you can just hook your ipod into and get the songs (thru itunes, but in a vending machine). That would rock.
- FunkyGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0they should also sell iTunes music numbers, so you can get your iPod ( and if you PAY for your music) then you can use wifi from laptop and get some music with your new card. I saw one with CD players and flash drives, one thing is, if you see ANYTHING in a vending machine you think "its cheap" so 250 bucks at the store and 250 bucks when your on the rush doesnt seem all the much expensive.
- Sionide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0heh, dunno how they work over in the USA but in the UK, if you buy sweets or something from a vending machine, you put the money in and it makes the product fall to the bottom of the machine where you open the flap and take it out, so what... the ipod falls to the bottom in this machine? they might break. heh
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^ very doubtful
But still, who could fight the urge to tip one of these bastards over or just do a smash and grab.....man...- methodshop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it looks like they are only putting these machines in locations with 24-hour security and lots of people. it would be pretty tough to pull a "smash and grab" and not get caught.
here's a partial list of ipod vending machine locations:
* San Francisco International Airport
* Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport
* Concourse A of the Atlanta International Airport
* Las Vegas Hilton Hotel

- Jeebugorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0also, you dont have to pay sales tax at a vending machine...so another bonus

I suppose not.- methodshop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1beef jerky? that's not very common in vending machines. try gum.
- Logal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It would be cool if these were actually Apple machines, as in owned by Apple. I was expecting a cool looking machine. I'd also like to know the prices of the items, i'd expect a hefty convenience fee.
- Jozone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how pissed would you be if one got stuck in it they way they do with candy?
George on Seinfeld with the twix anyone? - Neil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why would you need to get an iPod in a vending machine, I would hope you get a receipt or something. Just go to Target or something.
- Lindsay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0True. Weird concept. Never seen one before...
- NismoDrift, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pretty cool easy enough if you live near a place wit the ipod machine its an easy walk everytime a new ipod comes out seeming like how apple keeps coming out wit new ipods every other week thru the month of october
