Me.com Sending and Receiving Now Fully Working
gizmodo.com — Both sending and receiving of me.com mails is working now. We have tested this with our own Mac.com accounts. It works perfectly, both for sending and receiving.

- dansy, on 07/07/2008, -15/+10Oh, that is the 'revolutionary' service that does for money pretty much what Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail do for free ???
- SheVibe, on 07/07/2008, -4/+18MobileMe does push, they don't. Yahoo pretends to but it doesn't work half the time.
- maxthreepwood, on 07/07/2008, -1/+12The only thing Yahoo pushes is their *BLEEP* up our collective *BLEEP*
- cawpin, on 07/07/2008, -11/+11Google has IMAP. It works just as well as push.
- imcquill, on 07/08/2008, -1/+6I'm not so sure IMAP works as well as push. Try keeping a few IMAP clients for the same account open at once. They start to get pretty confused when you make changes to one. I've definitely sat at a computer connected via IMAP and had no new messages show up, but they were showing up on another computer where I left mail running. Plus the whole polling thing wasting batteries.
- sadpoti, on 07/08/2008, -1/+10I think some people have no clue what "push" means. If you think "IMAP works just as well as push", find out what the terms actually mean before you start talking like you know.
- santaliqueur, on 07/08/2008, -0/+6How can IMAP "work just as well as push"? You don't understand how either of these work, clearly.
- SheVibe, on 07/07/2008, -4/+18MobileMe does push, they don't. Yahoo pretends to but it doesn't work half the time.
- TruckStuff, on 07/07/2008, -3/+46Ehhh... isn't it *supposed* to do this? Why is this news-worthy?
- maxthreepwood, on 07/07/2008, -7/+4Not yet. It was suppose to start working this friday. It's working now, you only have to set up the mail program using the instructions in the page.
- Heck13, on 07/07/2008, -7/+5why not wait until apple send an upgrade that will do it automatically?
- maxthreepwood, on 07/07/2008, -3/+5Because you can start using it today.
- axisofphilippe, on 07/07/2008, -4/+8Working for me.
- yokozuka, on 07/08/2008, -2/+1It does work, and quite well. Push is working with my iPhone 2.0 5A345 software too.
- Somedude2137, on 07/08/2008, -3/+3i see what you did there.
- meannate, on 07/08/2008, -6/+33Apple farts, and the world notices.
- gravis86, on 07/08/2008, -1/+2Isn't that a bad thing?
- mhearne, on 07/08/2008, -3/+2Cheese farts are worse.
- mhearne, on 07/08/2008, -3/+2Cheese farts are worse.
- pl0x, on 07/08/2008, -1/+4Its actually Apple farts, and the world cares.
Then throws a party, and writes a Digg article. - meannate, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1Maybe "... and the world sniffs" would be more appropriate.
- gravis86, on 07/08/2008, -1/+2Isn't that a bad thing?
- bmullins, on 07/08/2008, -4/+11Yaaay... now I can be just as unique as everyone else!
- anmaxp, on 07/08/2008, -5/+3and how about sending and receiving?
- dabura, on 07/08/2008, -4/+14ME ?....... Millennium Edition
urgh...*shivers* - Wang, on 07/08/2008, -2/+5I feel one more clarification is needed - is this for both sending and receiving? :)
- Dradu, on 07/08/2008, -1/+21Am I the only one who thinks the old @mac.com sounds better than @me.com?
- Scottievm, on 07/08/2008, -1/+2Absolutely not, I'd feel like a complete douchebag telling someone that my e-mail address was blahblah@me.com...
- Velok, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1...so.... you think @me.com sounds better than @mac.com, because you'd feel like a complete douche with an @me.com address... yeah, I think I see the logic there...
:)
- Velok, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1...so.... you think @me.com sounds better than @mac.com, because you'd feel like a complete douche with an @me.com address... yeah, I think I see the logic there...
- Samtherocker, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1I'm not sure about @mac vs. @me.
I like that @me is impartial and doesn't say, "Hi, I'm a mac" but it sounds a bit strange saying myname@me.com.
Either way, I'm glad that apple lets customers choose which they'd prefer to use.
- Scottievm, on 07/08/2008, -1/+2Absolutely not, I'd feel like a complete douchebag telling someone that my e-mail address was blahblah@me.com...
- Dwebtron, on 07/08/2008, -3/+3so?
- Aereo, on 07/08/2008, -3/+3I tried plugging in my Me.com address in a new Exchange account on my iPhone, and it's working beautifully.
- chroko, on 07/08/2008, -1/+5Apple need to add one missing feature and the Me / Mac mail service will be usable and awesome:
+ Server-side mail rules.
Until then, it is... kinda lame. - timsline, on 07/08/2008, -2/+4So what?
- gurellia53, on 07/08/2008, -4/+5why is this on the front page and absolutely nothing about the Eee PC 901 which was just released?
- nanboya, on 07/08/2008, -1/+4Because it's just a PC... :-)
- EyeBaller1, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Yeah... if it was EMAIL then that would be huge news...
- bazbloke, on 07/08/2008, -1/+4who cares? lame.
- microview2007, on 07/08/2008, -2/+2Look @ me now! w00t!
- krutadal, on 07/08/2008, -0/+4Oh, wow. An e-mail service where you can send *and* receive messages? I tell you, this is the Next Big Thing. GMail, move over.
- RobSaint, on 07/08/2008, -0/+3From the .Mac user page:
MobileMe Launch
7/9/2008, 6pm-12am PT
So does that mean the iPhone 2.0 will be released tomorrow as well? - fezzen, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1I see nothing here about what the hell this is or why we're supposed to care. Might want to include tidbits like that when submitting to a news aggregator.
Buried because this definitely does not belong on digg. - SimonSlade, on 08/04/2008, -0/+0Works fine for me :)
