- GeekSwag, on 01/12/2008, -5/+3Master...Bates!
- 0ceanic, on 01/12/2008, -4/+5yeah that one had some depth. first i thought, shouldn't it be Gill Bates?
but phonetically, you would likely read that as Jill Bates.
sweet.- Snaggy, on 01/12/2008, -2/+9ha ha yep, we originally thought Gil Bates, but Gil is a man's name usually, so we reasoned Bill would go with Jill while in disguise. (and the Jill Bates triggers the familiar "Bill Gates" in the reader's mind, in case you don't recognize him with the wig.) Plus if you say it fast enough, it sounds like Jail Baits. :P
- Shalaby, on 01/12/2008, -3/+47Bates!!!

- Hayaemsay, on 01/13/2008, -0/+3I thought trolls turned to stone in daylight.
- Snaggy, on 01/12/2008, -3/+7For some reason digg is pulling the "Portraits by Nitrozac" image as the thumbnail instead of the actual comic.

- fiftyeggs, on 01/12/2008, -11/+107I saw Kevin Rose in the title of this post.
That means, according to the Digg's Terms of Use, I must digg this story up.
/Sarcasm - nycthbris, on 01/12/2008, -6/+4Oh no the Steve Jobs wannabe...what a sad existence

Damn you for raising my expectations.- Snaggy, on 01/12/2008, -4/+10Daniel Lyons is FSJ... hope I didn't spoil your childlike wonder. :P
- digitalarcanum, on 01/12/2008, -25/+12just a side note to digg: remove the god damn macworld expo banner from the homepage. You don't do a countdown for linux events, you don't do a countdown for windows events, you don't do a countdown for major gaming events, so remove the stupid macworld expo countdown.
and yes I know there' the option to remove the banner from the homepage, but it' pisses me off everytime I navigate away from the site or close my banner, the damned thing comes back.- zdiggler, on 01/12/2008, -15/+3Who cares about Mac's any ways. They're for Novice computer users.
- wphj, on 01/12/2008, -3/+4Apparently commenting on digg is for Novice internet Users.

- wphj, on 01/12/2008, -3/+4Apparently commenting on digg is for Novice internet Users.
- Blue_Eon, on 01/12/2008, -3/+2Yeah, I'm not entirely sure why they'd have a countdown to that, but not CES or other trade shows. I know Kevin is like Jesus around here (he's a cool guy, but people do sure brown nose him a lot...especially since he likes Apple), but I mean, c'mon...do you think Apple cares about the Mac community as much as they care about Apple? I never understood the fanatical obsession people have with it...it's just a computer.
I know I'll be dugg down, but I hate to see people get dugg down in an Apple topic just because they say anything even remotely negative, even if it's true, about Apple.- digitalarcanum, on 01/12/2008, -1/+1give me a countdown banner for PAX, E3, the north american international auto show or anything else and I'd stop bitching. This just proves that digg has a bias towards Apple when it's supposed to be an unbiased news site.
Fair and balanced, like Fox news, amirite?- associate989, on 01/13/2008, -0/+1The day you find me a "fair and balanced" news site, an "unbiased" news site, is the day I will install a piece of MSFT software on my MacBook.
Every media outlet, big or small, with a general audience or a niche market alike, has bias. Personally I think E3 is incredibly f*&%ing stupid, and would be appalled to see any public support for it in the form of a Digg banner ad; of course, if they posted one, I couldn't do much about it. Because, like we all know, every media outlet has bias. Just because Digg's bias happens to be favorable to a niche market of rabid consumers who can, will and have dugg you down, does not make it different than any other bias.- digitalarcanum, on 01/13/2008, -2/+2Digg use to be an unbiased tech news site before the newfags poured in and ruined it. digg expanded to cover other news topics (politics, sports, celebrities, offbeat news, etc. al.) and then ***** got ruined. Prior the the influx of peckerheads that would flame other users for legitimate tech questions, digg use to be unbiased.
Not to mention this is supposed to be a democratic news site. If I'm blocking particular catagories (let's say Apple for instance) why in *****'s name would I want a countdown banner for macworld on my god damn front page when there wasn't one for the CES?
So you think E3 is incredibly ***** stupid? I think the tech world hanging at the edge of their seats to listen to one ***** CEO's keynote address about "new" technology (that isn't all that revolutionary) is incredibly ***** stupid. Seems we're at an impasse here..

- andycr512, on 01/13/2008, -0/+2I couldn't -care less- that there's no banner for Linux events, but I'm -glad- that the MacWorld banner is there - that's because - remember I'm a Linux user - Steve Jobs' presentation is more entertaining than -any- Linux event I've seen.

Misleading. Immoral. Cheap, and greedy.
Go find another way to pay for that *****; I don't want your JoT t-shirts, your JoT newsletters, your JoT "superfandom".
Hell, I think I just click on mirrors of your webcomic in the future. Good friggin' day. - sparced, on 01/13/2008, -8/+2If I ever met Kevin Rose I don't think I could control myself from violent conduct.
