- Scott2, on 12/30/2008, -10/+117jeez, not another "steve is really dying this time zomg" article - I can't take any more.
- bachlau, on 12/30/2008, -36/+124Leave him alone.
God bless Steve. - orangetiki, on 12/30/2008, -3/+82At least you wrote a RUMOR disclaimer.
- n8o8, on 12/30/2008, -7/+69I hope that the SEC looks at Gizmodo.
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -16/+75When he does die, I wonder many people will reply with "They took'r Jobs!"
- ATL, on 06/20/2009, -8/+64Jobs'
- comspy, on 12/30/2008, -11/+61I do not believe that Steve's health is the reason behind the MacWorld cancellation. Apple has previously said that they have wanted to leave MacWorld, long before Steve became sick.
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -6/+42What a stupid ***** title.
No Stevenote @ Macworld != No Macworld - MavRevMatt, on 12/30/2008, -11/+46Well, looks like this one will be hitting the frontpage sometime soon. @kevinrose already tweeted out about the story and how he sold his stock, a dumbass move.
- Scott2, on 12/30/2008, -4/+33The stock will sink like a brick regardless.
- saulmora, on 12/30/2008, -17/+46Leave Steve Jobs ALONE!!!
Whhaaaa!!
Uh oh, my eye-makeup is smearing... - terracottapai, on 12/30/2008, -9/+38Come on Digg, I'm surprised you've all forgotten that he'll just rise again on the third day.
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -19/+45Buried as inaccurate.
- Snakedal337, on 12/30/2008, -10/+32You blogs really are working pretty hard to ruin everything he has built, and rebuilt aren't you? Honestly, they have made so much ad money off their stories on apple over the years, and they know everytime they publish "Steve is sick" the stock hits the floor. Stop speculating and wait for an official announcement damn it. If I were Steve, i'd be pissed.
- hookem10, on 12/30/2008, -6/+27meh. http://www.cnbc.com/id/28437017
- BrokedownPalace, on 12/30/2008, -2/+22His entire bank account is based on digg posts...
- RevChris2, on 12/30/2008, -1/+18at least one
/this guy - soulonfire928, on 12/30/2008, -5/+21For *****'s sake people this is not your dad!
Sad (if true)? Sure-I'm not trying to be a cold hearted bitch about it.
But seriously, to go around proclaiming that it will be the end of the world as we know it as a result? A bit far-fetched in my opinion. - PB3K, on 12/30/2008, -3/+17What's the cult of mac going to do now that their messiah is dying?
Seriously, all of you that are willing to turn on Apple because Jobs may be dying should be ashamed of yourselves. You're really gonna turn your back on all the designers and developers just because the pitch man will soon be gone? I though you liked Apple because the products "just worked", and the developers actually came up with stuff that people want to use. Do you really think that Steve sat down and personally designed the iPod, Air, iPhone like some kind of techie Santa? If you do, you're kidding yourself. - cheezygrin, on 12/30/2008, -0/+13Well, i wish Steve well, but it would be foolish to expect him to be available to support Apple for ever. Whether by his choosing to retire or any other means, sooner or later Apple, as a company, will have to learn to move on without him.
Hopefully Steve's successors will be able to learn from what he has done for the company, and continue to lead it in the right direction. - xerexes1, on 12/30/2008, -4/+16Shouldn't that be: "a cheese burger without the cheese"?
- macmcraeart, on 12/30/2008, -1/+13i really hope he doesn't base his financial decisions on digg posts.
- HappyScrappy, on 12/30/2008, -6/+17Was it even necessary to print this story?
Nearly everyone who read of Steve dropping out of MacWorld thought of Steve's appearance (and health). And I don't think the denials Apple has already printed have quelled the rumors much. - CoreyTamas, on 12/30/2008, -0/+11Actually, I think the concern is for his health first. Company second.
- grzelakc, on 12/30/2008, -0/+11Unfortunately, cancer has a nasty way of recurring...
- HappyScrappy, on 12/30/2008, -1/+12Apple already denied it twice since the press release indicating that Jobs wouldn't be there.
This hasn't stopped the rumors though. - inactive, on 12/30/2008, -2/+12The O RLY Owl next to the title seems ill-advised.
- freeridstylee, on 12/30/2008, -0/+10Steve bless Steve.
- MavRevMatt, on 12/30/2008, -3/+13Agreed, because as it stands now Apple has nothing really exciting to announce at MacWorld this year.
- ac2u, on 12/30/2008, -3/+13yeah... but he could have added it to the story title.. but oh noes.. that would have cost diggs.
- angelgabe, on 12/30/2008, -8/+17Who ever takes over is gonna have one big turtle neck to fill.
- jvincent08, on 12/30/2008, -1/+10Cheeseburgers never have bacon. If a burger has cheese and bacon, it's a bacon cheeseburger, not a cheeseburger.
- xerexes1, on 12/30/2008, -1/+9Apple has issued a press release to counter the Gizmodo rumour - http://www.cnbc.com/id/28437017
- lalalalamppost, on 12/30/2008, -7/+14You know what I call rumors like this? Potential stock manipulation. I hope the SEC investigates people trading in rumors.
- neowolfwitch, on 12/30/2008, -1/+8I wonder if Jobs will be like Elvis- with people who refuse to believe he is dead (when it eventually happens). Then we can have an influx of Jobs impersonators in Vegas (or at least Cupertino). Hopefully he won't die on the crapper.
In any case- I really doubt this is true. As has been said lots of times- Apple has wanted to part ways with Macworld for years now. - HamNCheese, on 12/30/2008, -0/+7uTard
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -1/+8
More like Apple pie without the filling - MavRevMatt, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6Especially ones from Gizmodo.
- mcnees287, on 12/30/2008, -3/+9Cheese burgers without bacon are awesome.
- kjones555, on 12/30/2008, -5/+11"dey turka jurrbs!"
- CoreyTamas, on 12/30/2008, -1/+7You know what? If the guy is sick, his money is irrelevant.
Put aside the whole "fanboy" paranoia. No matter what you think of the company, you don't have to dismiss someone's suffering. - paradizzle, on 12/30/2008, -2/+8I thought Mac's didnt get virus's?
- fotbr, on 12/30/2008, -1/+7There's a difference between admiration and *****-sucking.
Some apple fanboys don't understand, or don't care about the difference.
However, hoping the guy dies is a real ***** attitude, and it speaks volumes about xsquirrel378x - rayearth42, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6It's inaccurate because the article says that Jobs is canceling his Macworld appearance, not that Macworld is being canceled altogether which is what the dumbass submitter wrote.
- taosbob, on 12/30/2008, -2/+7Hmmm, let's see, just at AAPL was rising nicely on reports of the popularity of Christmas sales comes yet another, "Jobs is dying" rumored story from an anonymous source, and the stock drops, momentum crippled for another week or so and hedge funds short the stock profit big. Not to mention Gizmodo's hit count. Vultures on Wall Street, vultures in the blogosphere. I suppose that Brian Lam is upset at losing his profit from the Macworld extravaganza and so decided to take his lucre from Apple buzz in another coin.
- Anth, on 12/30/2008, -1/+6There go my AAPL shares...
- matt.rubin, on 12/30/2008, -1/+6I am a Hardcore PC user and I would hate to see such a genius die.
- rayearth42, on 12/30/2008, -0/+5Seriously. Why are people still digging this? The cancellation in the Gizmodo title is referring to Jobs, not Macworld. PanicAtTheJohn is a moron.
- MachineMessiah, on 12/30/2008, -2/+7"HE JUST HAD A BABY! HE LOVES HIS AUNT!"
