- TheD, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21how insightful of you.
essentialy you said "sometimes they do things on one day, but sometimes they do them on other days"
thank you for your wisdom. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20Or at most since January. :-)
- nxusername, on 10/12/2007, -8/+20Fingers also crossed for the ability to "right click" so I can dual boot it with Windows to run my legacy apps.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Uh...more like 18th. Apple has a tradition of releasing major products on Tuesdays.
- entity119, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Apache is installed by default on every version of OSX, you goddamned idiot.
- thecapitalizt, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Remind me again why I should be waiting for 64 bit processing?
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Its okay to call him an idiot when the first result in google tells you its built in.

"There's a powerful Apache web server built in to every Mac OS X computer."
If you ever want to know what a site is running off then hit up netcraft.com to see what digg is running on follow the link below.
http://toolbar.netcraft.com/site_report?url=http://www.digg.com - Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9fingers crossed!
- Terc, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Stop, dont encourage them. We need some sort of concrete evidence if it's going to hit the front page; ok people?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I have never found a two button track pad that I liked using (the buttons are always too small, baddly placed, and/or baddly shaped. For right clicking on track pads in Windows I always use the two finger tap if the machine supports it, on Macs I always ctrl+click. I don't know how Macbook + Windows behaves first hand but I would think you could do the two finger thing if the driver is any good.
- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Remind me again what 64 bit apps you're desperate to be running?
- ohnnyj, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9I was thinking about getting a MacBook Pro as well...but:
1. Intel will release a new Core Duo with much improved battery life, performance, and 64-bit compatibility in Q3.
2. Hope for a 12-13in model.
Once these two are satisified, I will bite. - bigkm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3sometimes it quicker cause my left hand is always there ready to right click or use shortcut keys.
- iamtheratio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I got 1GB Ram for my imac at memorytogo.com for 100 bucks.
It works perfectly. - Sixcolors, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@ harsh
I carry a mouse with me because I never know when I'm going to do more than just browse the web.
Maya without a mouse would be irritating, as would World of Warcraft, UT 2k4, etc. (I have done it, though... it wasn't pretty. Same goes for Warcraft 3 and Starcraft.) I just have a small Logitech v200 wireless. I tried the bluetooth version, but for some reason it was jittery and lagged from time to time. - flyingfox23, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9oh man not another intel ibook release rumour, i'm gettin tired of gettin jerked around like this every couple of weeks.
- GuineaPig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Baseless speculation. No digg.
- entity119, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually I've just spent like three seconds looking around and I've come to the realization that Doak's more of a troll than anything else.
And it's not a case of it being advertised or anything, three seconds with google would have answered his question better than posting a kneejerk attempt at a superslam on a website. - jgeorgeson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@chadu
Actually with the Intel models using 667 MHz DDR2, it's cheaper to order extra memory from apple.com as part of your custom order than buying it separate from crucial.com. Two 1 GB sticks with a MacBook is $300, each 1 GB stick from Crucial is $157. I was able to find marginally cheaper corsair memory at Fry's. - marko_tomas13, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7I was waiting, then got tired of waiting and just bit the bullet. I bought a Macbook Pro instead.
I don't think i'll be regretting it, however the "Macbook" that is supposedly coming out sometime in the future may have better battery life and that is the only thing that may bother me. 3 hours is fair enough for me at least. - swindmill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I prefer a two button mouse, but i have found a one button track pad to be much more preferable than an awkward two button trackpad. I would think people who want a two button trackpad haven't had the time to appreciate how great the one button is
- Universal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Doesn't Apple usually save the good stuff for Macworld Expos, and other events? Not just a random day? Although it would be awesome anyway.
:) - TheD, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5cross what you want...right click not gonna happen. not until the pro gets it
- Nanx, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7That would kick ass beyond belief...I wanted a Macbook for ages
- ezkiel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome Bicycle day precedes April 20th aka the 4:20.
I gotta get prepped for a two day drug fest. Anyone know where to look for LSD on the street. - chad78, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How much do you want for the MacBook Pro?
- illt, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6probably better solutions, but a quick search of google resolves that problem:
http://livecn.huasing.org/imouse/ - chadu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5you probably know this, but don't buy the ram from apple unless you have money to burn.
- chad78, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If Apple doesn't offer it in another color, I'm sure these guys will.
http://digg.com/apple/Color_is_the_new_White_for_your_new_iMac_PowerBook_iPod - shelton777, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Well its the 19th and no Macbooks! I guess your wrong. LOL! I hope they come out soon.......
- samsara1981, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Analysts have speculated that Apple could make an exception from its usual strategy for the Intel Macs, as the public awareness already runs high, and there is pressure to get them rolled out as a lot of customers have been holding back with their purchasing decisions to wait for the new models - but every day, some may defect to other laptop suppliers, especially given the announcement of the GUI kit/compatibility layer for OS X apps on Windows, and the fact that the current iBook line-up is about nine months old.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Tomorrow on digg: "1911wolf Selling Beachfront Apple home!" Makes it to the front page in 15 minutes.
- zackz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5@1911wolf
You have a beachfront condo? Does it have a Apple logo? I'll buy! :) - otatop, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2We're not even 2 and a half hours into the day yet, scooter. Usually companies don't announce things at midnight.
Having said that, I doubt anything will be announced today by Apple. - diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i say new macs on the 26th.
if they don't come though, i may change my mind to the 1st of May.
Wait, no, let me think about it. I'm going to say sometime next week. Ya, sometime next week. - tecmec, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6I don't think they will, because the Macbook Pro should be better than the Macbook
- golddigga, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1look at the nano and the video ipod, they were on random days and here in malayisa, it's like 9 oclock
- animefx, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4I hope they announce it on Tuesday... I'll be ordering one as long as:
there is an option for 1.67 ghz core duo
built in isight
widescreen
i'll max out the ram... hopefully it will support up to 2 gigs. - jgeorgeson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Edit, my mistake. Turns out that the 2 GHz MBP ships with a 1 GB stick, so you only need to buy one stick to get up to 2 GB. I'm sure this has always been the case, but it seems that Apple is charging more for 667 MHz DDR2 SO-DIMMS when sold with MBPs than when sold with Minis. My earlier price comparison holds true for Intel Minis and iMacs ($300 for 2x1GB with apple.com if ordered as part of custom build Mac).
- chad78, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hey, whaddya know? It's 2:30 pm on the East Coast on the day of April 19 - and *STILL* no MacBooks! (That would make it 11:30 am in Cupertino, CA, and Apple HQ, btw.) Like I said, nothing but BS and rumors.
The MacBooks will come out in June. - isdereks, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3He may be an idiot, but the fact is that Apache is not a widely "advertised" feature on OSX. You can't blame the uneducated.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I said MOST. Can you not read? Besides, it was just an informational comment not worthy of a response. Still, you two boneheads couldn't resist flapping you juvenile gums.
TheD, you are a bitter guy. Judging from your two posts in this forum, all you seem to do is quip about meaningless information. Get a girlfriend, loser.
"hey that was great... i watched exactly 27 seconds of it, then "click". the only thing worse that unfunny dumbass crap jokes, is unfunny dumbass crap jokes that last 4 and a half minutes. Editing people. Editing." - webscoper, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3http://appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1667
black macbook here i come! - Tyrel, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6See TheD, this is what makes us different than Slashdot. We've got thinkers among us. ;-)
- zippo512, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3i wonder whether it's still gonna be white. maybe they'll offer one in black too, like the ipod. that would be the coolest thing ever. i just hope my old ibook won't feel bad when the new one comes out.
- enzomedici, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2
And logic board problems coming April 20th....lol. - cvk_b, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4On the day of my school disbursement? Oh, boy. danger... danger...
- zackz, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Laptop? A $100 case for iPod Nano was a huge news for fanbois! :)
- Mac2492, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4Sorry, I accidentally gave you a negative digg! I just wanted to say that you made a great decision... The MacBookPro is an excellent computer. Again, sorry for the negative digg. I'll remember to look at the screen next time I try to give someone positive diggs.
- zackz, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1@chadu
But a samsung memory module bought from an Apple store is far more superior than a samsung memory module bought from crucial -
