- NathanCH, on 07/04/2008, -4/+63Good news for everyone, even if you hate Apple. Hopefully it will give incentive to Microsoft to make their operating system more secure and fix other issues.
- hkbebe1, on 07/04/2008, -4/+29stfu Im fapping right nao
- Merendino, on 07/03/2008, -23/+46It's quiet in here... can you hear the echo?
- TomFrost, on 07/04/2008, -2/+23lol?
- mvent2, on 07/04/2008, -3/+24If that's Microsoft's best effort, we should all be scared.
- inactive, on 07/04/2008, -0/+21Math!
0.06 * 0.32 + 0.06 = 0.0794 or 7.94% - dha07030, on 07/03/2008, -9/+28Digging a story for its title FTW
- waydee, on 07/04/2008, -15/+32This same ***** story has been on the front page 3 times now.
Buried as Applespam again. - 1337jared, on 07/04/2008, -4/+20Apple only sells very good computers, not mediocre ones that poor people can afford.
- NathanCH, on 07/04/2008, -1/+15Because of people switching from XP to Vista. Has nothing to do with the market share outside of Windows' portion.
- ThatDustyGuy, on 07/04/2008, -5/+18It's quiet in here...OH *****, I'M IN A VACUUM!
- WikiEasy, on 07/04/2008, -8/+21It's quiet in here... can you hear the echo?
- NathanCH, on 07/04/2008, -1/+12Yes, you clearly fail at it. Read the article.
- klank, on 07/04/2008, -0/+11Welcome to the internet, where it is impossible to tell between a dumbass and sarcasm.
- FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 07/04/2008, -2/+12look, apple just isn't going to purposely make a crappy computer. it would tarnish their image, so to speak. not to mention that they're not after the budget-pc crowd. in any case, if that crap-spec best buy pc is good enough for you, then why would you want a macbook?
- MtheoryX, on 07/03/2008, -4/+14The force is strong with you.
- inactive, on 07/04/2008, -1/+11Evil? Why is every company all of a sudden evil? I don't believe that Apple, Microsoft, or any other large publicly traded company is evil. I would guess most of them do shady *****, but they all just want to make money.
Use whatever computer you like best, but I don't get where your HATE for Apple comes from. Looking at your past comments, you clearly hate Apple, and love to talk about their fans masturbating to products. You also love Fox News, hate Obama, and hate liberals. Did I leave anything out?
I'm all for a reasonable discussion about the pros and cons of our favorite machines, but not with someone who starts off with an insult. Shut the ***** up already. - darienphoenix, on 07/04/2008, -1/+10No, because XP usage decreased by 500%.
- inactive, on 07/04/2008, -5/+13"...but Windows is down overall"
- mogebier, on 07/04/2008, -38/+46It's just another story for the Apple lovers to masturbate about.
- 1337jared, on 07/04/2008, -6/+14I know quite a few fellow students (including myself) who would rather have Macs, but they are too expensive. I'm not saying that Macs are overpriced, because you are actually getting a good deal for what you pay for, but I can buy a brand new PC at Best Buy with crappy specs for $400 and it will do everything that I need it for.
Cheaper macbooks please!
Edit: *Crappy macbooks please! - zdiggler, on 07/04/2008, -4/+11I bought a Acer notebook for $400 bucks.
It comes with Core2 Duo and 2 gigs of ram and 180GB hdd! its 17" glossy display. Thin and light
I can do stuff that I can do on 2000 MBP like surf the web. - LinuxGalore, on 07/04/2008, -3/+10WOW!! Microsoft had a whole 1% market share loss, sell my shares, hurry the world is coming to an end.
Lets be honest,, ZZzzzzzzz.... - blankoboy, on 07/04/2008, -0/+6If they'd bring out a new Mac Mini already I'd be part of this surge.
- Ilyanep, on 07/04/2008, -0/+6Why do people think you can't tinker on Mac?
It's called learning UNIX and terminal. - Viakenny, on 07/04/2008, -2/+8does that consider the iPhone OS?
- 1337jared, on 07/04/2008, -0/+6Unix programming
- inactive, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5If you have $1, you aren't limited to only receiving 100% more ($1 more). If you want, I could give you $2 (200% increase for a total of $3).
But I'll keep my dollar if you insist, not that it's worth so much anymore. - dan21328, on 07/04/2008, -4/+9"...Net Applications' data showed that Windows XP's share dropped from 72.12% to 71.2%, a decline of nearly a full percentage point."
No way. Really? Dang, huge blow for XP. - inactive, on 07/04/2008, -2/+6Agreed
- phillipfry, on 07/04/2008, -1/+5Didn't realise Firefox was a mediocre browser ;)
- dha07030, on 07/04/2008, -4/+8If you are not saying they are overpriced then what are you saying?
- dudup, on 07/04/2008, -1/+5Agreed. Go for a refurb, they come as great as a new one -- even better since they go for QA procedures all over again. New serial number and full warranty. You can't tell the difference between a new and a refurb once they are out of the box.
I bought a 24" refurb iMac, it was my first refurb, and I'm amazed about it. - inactive, on 07/04/2008, -6/+10Can't I just be a fan of Apple products? Read the threads, it's almost always Windows people starting ***** first. Kinda like this time, too.
- badtiki, on 07/04/2008, -0/+4forget the mac mini, save a lil bit more and grab the imac, for a decent mac mini your looking at like $600, where you can get a starter imac for a lil over $1000
- FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3are you being sarcastic?
- 2shae, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3iMacs are grey with black.
The only white Apple computer now is the Macbook. - badtiki, on 07/04/2008, -10/+13Yahoo! I'm a statistic! lol - I'm writing this on my new imac 24"er - I'm totally loving this thing, i'm actually happy to use my computer again! and the scariest thing is running XP in vmfusion is awesome - the best windows experience I ever had was on a MAC
- yahoofrom, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3:DGC
- 2shae, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3Overall performance is more important ---> Windows is going Down, OS X is going Up
Besides Windows had a larger base to begin with. - Rotzooi, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3Wow.
- iofthestorm, on 07/04/2008, -2/+5He is right, a lot of machines are going to be in places that are never hooked up to internet such as those monitoring factory equipment and stuff like that. I don't know why anyone would pay the premium on a Mac just to monitor some stuff, so I'm sure this underestimates the market share of Windows at least a little.
- LittleDas, on 07/04/2008, -1/+4What's that? I cannot hear you scream.
- Jimmerz, on 07/04/2008, -1/+3Cummere. I got a money shot for your face.
- rasmasyean, on 07/04/2008, -3/+5haha...I guess I worked in different places. I mean people do surf...but not a whole lot like they were home.
But what about all those Windows machines in hostpitals, factories, utility companies, etc. that are used to monitor machinery and control processes, etc. I would presume you should count those too. Industrial markets are a pretty lucrative software development choice. - kipmartin, on 07/04/2008, -7/+9dont get so down on the windows users. worker drones need an OS for their cookie cutter corporate lifestyle too. windows is great for the khaki and golf shirt crowd.
- ethamajin, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2The Microsoft, the.
- badtiki, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2Yeah whats it worth now? like 25cents canadian? lol I laugh cause we're all *****.....
- klank, on 07/04/2008, -2/+4Duh.
- celkin, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2Whoosh, etc.
