- rpetty, on 11/27/2007, -2/+19While I think Leopard has a long way to go to reach a 10 (on a 10 scale), the author takes a novel look at Leopard as an app platform vs. OS. Very detailed review and worth a read. I am sure the author's praise will have Diggers sounding the fanboy alert.
- vault, on 11/27/2007, -0/+8It'll be a 10 by 10.5.5 or so...right now there are still some issues that only make it an 8 or 9.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -4/+11Leopard is not a perfect 10, yet.. About an 8/10...
- shodanx, on 11/27/2007, -1/+5that guy's getting hacked
- burstaneurysm, on 11/27/2007, -4/+7It's definitely not a 10.
There are still a number of bugs and many of the 'eyecandy' improvements actually hinder usability.
I'd give it a 7. - Meekus, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3A 10?! After upgrading my Mac Book Pro to Leopard, wireless ethernet has become intermittent. Keep in mind, prior to upgrading, I had no issues whatsoever with network connectivity.
Maybe a 6.5/10 for me. 10.... HAH! No that is funny right there. - mywhitenoise, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Yeah, mine's been kind of buggy. Glitches in Quicktime, Widgets have a MAJOR slowdown and Preview isn't as friendly as it used to be. Then again it may be because I'm using an iMac G5.
- mcflynnthm, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3It was a real trek to get through the gushing in that first paragraph. I like Apple and all, but dude needs to calm down.
- Khantusion, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3you know a reviewer is a worthless shillbag fanatic brand loyalist when they give something a perfect score and even the real users of said product give it less. this goes for anything
- n8to, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Seriously! WTF is up with the flaky wireless?
- AmeLum, on 11/27/2007, -1/+27/10, it has a way to go yet.
- BoogieManOh, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1you a windows user?
- macmichael01, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1I agree that this is not a perfect 10. And being the upgrade that 10.5 is, you would expect alot less bugs. Windows XP SP2 aimed toward fixing bugs and did so at the price of "FREE." It's amazing that apple charges their customers a fat price for a silly upgrade.
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 11/27/2007, -1/+210 out of 10 if we are rating marketing and spin... Buried..
- jbenson2, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Major problems with Leopard
- Mac Pros locking up after the upgrade
- bugs in the firewall
- blue screens
- maintenance update (OSX 10.5.1) did not solve problem - meltingrobot, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Hmm... perfect 10 score... guess he didn't try updating an older mac and run into the dubious Essentials package issue like I did. Also, he obviously didn't do a server update that took a completely hands off server into complete lockup/crash randomly every 1-5 days.

- heartcoldfusion, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Probably just a 12 year old.
- dynacrylic, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2It doesn't run VirtualBox yet...
- pagancollective, on 11/27/2007, -3/+4Come the ***** on. Leopard is nowhere near a 10 - a good operating system that removed a surprising amount of functions and glazed over them with eye candy (see: stacks vs. Tiger's icon menus).
It was the first Mac OS that didn't blow me away when I upgraded. It has some great features and I still love using OS X, but it isn't as good as I'd hoped. - mediaploy, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2hardly anything worth debating over
- chris9902, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1"As to cost, when tallied frankly, the price of a single commercial Windows desktop in an enterprise is potentially infinite, and it is a continuous and growing expense."
this guy has no idea. Windows is dirt cheap to buy for enterprise use. That's why most people started using it in the first place. Add to that you don't need to buy a £1000 computer to run it and it's quite obvious why people use Windows.
"This is the reason behind Vista's failure to thrive: IT doesn't want a pretty Windows; IT wants a thin and invisible one, one out of users' reach."
I love this comments for 2 reasons. 1) you can turn everything off in Vista and make it look as ***** as 2k if you want 2) OS X is pretty but that some how doesn't matter. - bradleyland, on 11/27/2007, -1/+1I love my Mac. Love it. But I couldn't make it through the first paragraph of this love letter... I mean, review.
- heartcoldfusion, on 11/27/2007, -2/+2***** comment. LOL GET IT!?!?!?!
- DharmaDog, on 11/27/2007, -0/+0I know you're trolling, but I can't seem to resist.
XP --> XP SP2 is not analogous to 10.4.x --> 10.5.x
XP --> Vista is analogous to 10.4.x --> 10.5.x
Is MS giving Vista away to XP users? Why do you expect Apple to give Leopard to Tiger users? - grindmygears, on 11/27/2007, -3/+0Old news but how can it be a perfect 10 after this?
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/11/20/leopard_re ... - venb, on 11/27/2007, -7/+1Leopard is a 5 at least, way overblown out of proportion, it's almost like another Vista. Not impressed at all despite of all rumors, praises, and hype.
- skroll, on 11/27/2007, -16/+5***** OS, ***** computers, ***** article
