- whatthefu, on 11/21/2007, -45/+458Having that much devotion to any company is disturbing.
- lkv87, on 11/21/2007, -5/+283thats just asking for vandalism!
- harvinator24, on 11/21/2007, -18/+270A PC fanboy's dream is that mailbox and a baseball bat.
- PerfektXj, on 11/21/2007, -47/+277good use for a mac
- Chirp08, on 11/21/2007, -8/+203***** that, im a mac user and ***** like this is embarrassing to us normal people who couldn't give a ***** about the whole rivalry. I boot windows when I play games, or need to run an app that OSX can't, I don't go on digg and make fun of windows users. That ***** is getting old. Digg needs a fanboy tag (if a certain number of people flag your comment as fanboyish it becomes official), and we should have an option to show/hide fanboy comments.
- stalefries, on 11/21/2007, -7/+137Hmm....file server, mailbox. Music server, mailbox. Web server, mailbox. DVR, mailbox. Heck. I'll go with the mailbox!
- AriaStar, on 11/21/2007, -40/+163No one says the same thing about football fans with mail boxes shaped like helmets. Lighten up. It's all in fun.
- inactive, on 11/21/2007, -10/+116I just mailed him an anthrax-coated letter to prove that Macs can get viruses.
- skeen07, on 11/21/2007, -6/+103Sports fanboyism is the most overlooked thing ever. They get tattoos, they buy big screen TVs to watch the game, they travel around the world to watch their teams play, they name their kids after players, and it's TOTALLY acceptable in western society. No one says a thing, hell, people encourage it! They shrug off these eccentricities as just the guy thing to do, "Oh you guys and your football, heh heh."
- usrlocalbin, on 11/21/2007, -12/+97Thats disturbing also..
- Subvexer, on 11/21/2007, -26/+107Most expensive mailbox on the street, and you can only receive letters from other Mac mailboxes.
- highPhone, on 11/21/2007, -27/+102You PC fanboys are just jealous because your mailboxes crash every time you go to check the mail~
note: that is still a very ugly mailbox. - Drgn547, on 11/21/2007, -0/+75"Any true Mac fan should have a mailbox like this."
... No, no they shouldn't. - jonqdoe, on 11/21/2007, -16/+73Mailbox baseball, anybody?
- indiekiduk, on 11/21/2007, -7/+54you need a helmet for football? pussies
- Firehed, on 11/21/2007, -4/+49PC fanboy?
- Firehed, on 11/21/2007, -1/+42I feel slightly better knowing that I'm not the only Mac user out there that doesn't feel the need to be a dick to PC users.
- edwartica, on 11/21/2007, -10/+47umm, that's not beautiful. That looks like fisher price designed it.
- dotlizard, on 11/22/2007, -7/+36not as disturbing as that chick that carved the apple logo alongside her impressive collection of fresh razor cuts on her arm. that was disturbing. this? not so much.
- Lane, on 11/22/2007, -1/+29That's no mailbox, it's to serve as a warning to others who might dare bring a mac to my doorstep. 56 and counting thus far.
- dnields, on 11/21/2007, -8/+34I do
- Subvexer, on 11/21/2007, -30/+55All religions are disturbing.
- igob8a, on 11/22/2007, -1/+20You could say that again
- jetblackz4, on 11/22/2007, -1/+19Ironically it still gets spam.
- iofthestorm, on 11/22/2007, -1/+18Yeah but like anything a fanboy tag would get abused in no time by the masses of fanboys, thus horribly backfiring.
- chad78, on 11/22/2007, -7/+24football, not soccer, non-American dude
- edwartica, on 11/21/2007, -6/+22I have to wonder if they know what idiots they look like. Because they do....they look like total, complete idiots. And they usually are!
- dizastar, on 11/21/2007, -0/+16was this certified by the postmaster general?
- EntropyFan, on 11/22/2007, -7/+23I'm jealous because all of the PC's I have from the same time period are still running in production environments.
I guess Macs do last longer, just don't ask what they are actually used for. - 1800collect, on 11/21/2007, -1/+16For those not in the know "Yikes!" was the code name for those types of macs. http://lowendmac.com/ppc/g4.shtml
- yaroze, on 11/21/2007, -9/+24Yikes!
- blazes816, on 11/21/2007, -1/+16One of you friends has dugg it.
- mjhayter, on 11/22/2007, -3/+17you forgot to write "The only" at the start of your post...
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -11/+25Talk about a successful advertising campaign. The sad thing is people like you really believe that *****.
- LoudMusic, on 11/22/2007, -3/+17Replaced? You mean upgraded? Oh wait, same thing.
- a5tr0cr3ep, on 11/22/2007, -3/+16the power light led went out had to get a new computer
- billybob217, on 11/21/2007, -3/+16Give it a couple of months and w/out any cleaning or polishing, it will just be a warning to all fanboys to stay away...
- khyberkitsune, on 11/22/2007, -5/+18except anthrax is a bacteria... D'oh!
- basic0, on 11/22/2007, -1/+14I'd like to change the words "mac" and "OSX" in your comment to "Linux" and claim it as my own.
Speaking from personal experience, as I used to be a Linux zealot, fanboyism for any platform usually says "I don't have a real job". As soon as you get a job in the real world, you realize that all OSes have their strengths and weaknesses and there isn't one to rule them all. Try finding a Linux version of any commercial game, or finding something comparable to Dragon NaturallySpeaking for Mac (although iListen is getting better), or something as approachable as Applescript/Automator for Windows.
In the real world, you just can't do some things very well with certain platforms. People that sign your paycheque fall in love with certain applications. Older people who had computers thrust upon them for their work after 20 years of doing it some other way don't see any similarities between programs like Excel and OpenOffice Spreadsheet, even if they look nearly identical to you, a computer enthusiast. You have little power to change things like that, and the power you do have is not gained by mocking those whom are different from you.
This concludes chapter 1 of "All I Needed to Know I Learned From Computers". - surfing, on 11/21/2007, -1/+13because they are recycling other people's comments.
- synce, on 11/21/2007, -0/+12Probably stolen less than 24 hours after the pic was taken.
- crushfan, on 11/22/2007, -1/+13Aye aye, Captain Obvious!
- dubbleenerd, on 11/21/2007, -1/+12if i had to, i would prefer a mac mini mailbox, so only useful mail and none of the junk can fit in the slot.
- StaticThunder, on 11/21/2007, -2/+13I most certainly do. "Having that much devotion to one team (whose members aren't even necessarily from the state they represent) is disturbing."
- BurningApple, on 11/22/2007, -3/+14It was fake.
- Kyderdog, on 11/22/2007, -3/+14You know, If I did that I would fill it full of concrete and watch the ***** break their baseball bats...
- OrangeTide, on 11/21/2007, -1/+11my mailbox is an altoids tin.
- ehalasey, on 11/21/2007, -2/+12Totally what I was thinking. Thing's so damn big you might as well paint a target on its side.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -5/+15But they're so much easier! When it's time to upgrade, you just throw it away and buy a new one. No difficult decisions regarding which component you want to upgrade first.
