"Still trying to work in your fantasy, imaginary Apple products, eh?"
I can assure you, this new Keynote is a sure thing. In fact, it was pre-announced last year, *by Apple*, although not everyone may have noticed the announcement. Even if Apple hadn't announced it, it's been highly assumed anyway.
Also, I can confirm it will not be available as a boxed item in the Apple stores, but instead be distributed online.
"More likely it's some blog that is looking for some page hits by making up another foolish Apple rumor and getting it to the front page of digg."
Google "Wil Shipley". He's no fly-by-night opportunistic blogger. - QueenOfSwords, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Inaccurate.
Teh Steve doesn't say 'damn'. He doesn't limit himself to G-rated swears. :D - Quix, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11I think people are missing the humor of Wil's post. Think "keynote" in the broad sense, people, so we can put the brakes on the imminent, wild discussion threads.
P.S. no one expects flag564 to "get it," since he never does. - stukdog, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13It could have been legit until the end.
"Finally, it appears this version will EXCLUSIVELY be available over the web... when asked about it, my source indicated that MacWorld atttendees would get this new Keynote "for free" (actually, he said its price had already been put into the cost of their tickets, which I think is pretty sneaky)"
Yeah right. - shyguy01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"Labels: humor?"
- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Flag, if even after it being pointed out to you thats its humor, you still don't get the joke I would seriously consider going back to school for some English classes right now, assuming you're not still in school. This isn't the first time when you've gone off on an anti-Mac rant where something was just supposed to be poking fun.
- gunnerycox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Almost all of the comments have missed the point of this blog post! this is not a Real rumor. This is a humorous take on all the rumors flying around and a satire of Steve. Keynote 2007? hmm sounds like Macworld 2007! and another "version" in about 6 months? sounds like WWDC. If you read the blog post 2 times you will get it.
- addiggt, on 07/06/2009, -3/+82 days, 2 hours and 35 minutes left!
- crablin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5i think it hilarious that the usual diggers are coming on to rubbish this 'rumour', find all the little bits that are inaccurate with it (oh my goodness! a capital W in 'MacWorld'?!?!?!?)
When really, if you're not a complete idiot, you'll realise it's actually rather humorous satire. Which makes all of you blind, holier-than-thou people who make the majority of the Mac community look bad by your actions, look even worse.
I am very, very excited about the Stevenote in 2 days and 55 minutes, but the constant waves of blindness displayed by some areas of the Mac community end up making us all look stupid! Why does everything have to be nitpicked and then anyone posting anything even mildly inaccurate be completely flamed to hell? IT'S ALL A BIT OF FUN!
I'm going for some pomegranate juice. - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"YOU ROTTEN PIECE OF BANANA!!"
- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"It could have been legit until the end."
Woosshhh!!!!! (the sound of the joke flying over your head) - drlha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yes, there will be a Keynote at Macworld.
Now read the blog post again and think about it a bit more. - McZiggz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3woops
- DJosephDesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Keynote will now integrate with iPhone! To change a slide, simply send "tell Keynote to advance current build/slide" as a text message from your iPhone ($400) to your Mac PC's IP address (must first register with .Mac for $$$$$ a year).
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3..as if you couldn't tell from the post itself..
- marcusb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7I think the keynote speech will, in fact, NOT be new. Instead he will recite the Sermon on the Mount; replacing all references to God with the word Mac.
..Ok seriously, shouldn't ALL keynotes be new? It's not like he gets up there and just uses last years.. - SpacedCowboy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@flag
(Points finger, does Nelson-like HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-HA)
Poor little flag, not being able to understand the concept of "humour".
Simon - uranium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the site is slow already. what can you expect from it on Tuesday?
- Mudger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So is he talking about Keynote the iWork software or Keynote the presentation?
- LoganT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Someone freeze me until Tuesday!
- SirBotchness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hurr iphone
- cannibaljp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1insert silly sound effect here...
a pun as a topic for an article?
well, it worked for video game sites as they were speculating over the wii...
still... - McZiggz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2My advice to anyone who won't be at Macworld, but wants to exerience the week still is to visit:
http://sharemacworld.com
People will be using their camera phones to take pictures during all of Macworld (even live from the Keynote) and they can share them in real time. Everyone will be able to see an ongoing timeline of events from the whole week, through the eyes of many different people.
Anyone can participate -
Everyone will be watching - - nayr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1look at the bottom:
"labels: humor?" - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah it was humorous.. not LOL funny, but it had a good point. We are ***** crazy about anything Apple does .. including the details of their public addresses.
- Baconn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2"...Steve himself is overseeing the whole effort, as he considers it "his baby.""
Pray for the coders. - cpbrown, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1erms did nobody get the sarcasm?
- musntSurfatWork, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0kill me now, before I witness the iplanet.
- Erkan, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4OMFG. stop mentioning the Iphone every day!
If you want MP3 in a phone get any phone out there, almost all middle class phones can play MP3 files, and I bet the Iphone will be twice the price of them. - philz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Why are Apple products alway "all new"? Are they always re-written/engineered from scratch?
- MadMan459, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Yeah I got it... "Keynote" the speech being described like "Keynote" the application.
Pretty stupid all the way around and not funny in the least. Flagged as lame. - vikramkr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Keynote is a joke.
- darxmac, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2and it's Macworld Expo, not "MacWorld" ... no capital W
/thomas - 96kHzSampleRate, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0@ robertcamb5
You might be on to something there :-D - QueenOfSwords, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Bluetooth + mobile phone = remote. Maybe.
If the iPhone has video out (like the iPod video) , you wn't be watching keynote on a dinky screen. - flipmeat, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Plausible, he has connections.
- bittered, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1If this was on anybody else's blog then I'd call ***** but Wil Shipley has a lot of credibility in the mac community. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Delicious Library still the fastest selling mac app ever released!
- jman8888, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1woah, never expected dat
- EclipseMullet, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Why would anyone want to do a presentation over a mobile phone?
- aspro, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7haha, nice :)
- Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -16/+6"Finally, it appears this version will EXCLUSIVELY be available over the web"
Sounds like the complete package to me. No need for disks, makes that feasible. - flag564, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2If this is humor, then it mirrors reality a little too closely.
Is fanboy reality a parody or is parody the fanboy's reality? /zen music - flag564, on 10/12/2007, -32/+7You guys just dont know when to quit.
Still trying to work in your fantasy, imaginary Apple products, eh? More likely it's some blog that is looking for some page hits by making up another foolish Apple rumor and getting it to the front page of digg.
And guess who is falling for it yet again?
