- sholt, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23Heh... using a sym link before the update.
That's actually a slick idea. - indiefan, on 10/10/2007, -6/+22i'm not a hater, and i own an iphone, but seriously...when did Apple become sony?
- dominiccarr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Would everyone who hates apple or the iphone just y'know go away, or block the apple channel.
- badnewsblair, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Seriously, the worst analogy I've ever read.
- tokyomonster, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10So then why would you take the time to say this?
- nbeighley, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10OK, everybody brace yourselves for 1.1.2!!!
- amneosis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Cat 0 1 Mouse
- tokyomonster, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10BLOCK THE APPLE CATEGORY
- kee440, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5If it's just a phone, why are you crying about it then?
- Me1000, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4when they signed a deal with at&t
- badnewsblair, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3To iPhone users that want to use 3rd Party Apps, this means they can do it even with version 1.1.1 (or at leaast we are on our way to doing it).
iPod Touch users: unfortunately, this doesn't mean much for you. - tokyomonster, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Unless you can get SSH access into the touch, nothing for right now.
- skellener, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4When 1.1.1 and the $0.99 ringtone fiasco for iTunes was released.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It requires you to downgrade to 1.0.2, so unless you can find a way to install the iPhone 1.0.2 software on an iPod touch, then this won't help.
- Wander2000, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Some bright person should work on getting 1.0.2 to spoof that it's running 1.1.1, that way any future programs that require that version (iTunes or the upcoming Leopard) won't be a problem. And then get a working copy of the music store app running on 1.0.2!
- Chakat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Still in the works. A lot of the reason why they're focusing on the iPhone right now is because they have known ways in. It's assumed among a lot of developers that they're doing similar things for the touch, so once they get the iphone jailbroken, they can apply those techniques to getting the touch working.
- OneManArmy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Prepare to see 1.0.2 Dev-team-edition soon ;)
- zabouth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I love the way its always the simple solution
- sgvprelude, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4this means you shouldn't have bought an ipod touch.
- hungarianhc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This cat and mouse game sure is fun!!!
- nubela, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2just a quick qtn: how is this going to help unlock 1.1.1? enlighten me please.
I know it'll help create custom firmwares for those with already unlocked 1.0.2 to get 1.1.1 features, what bout those with virgin 1.1.1? bandbase still not going to be downgraded. - zabouth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1thats what i ment the have access to the iphone file system so if they can find a flaw in that, that say a jail brake they should be able to use it on the itouch
- vinchBR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1good luck guys =)
- kris33, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This method also works for iPod touch, atleast according to some random chatter on the #itouch channel.
- alefox, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3where's the touch hacks?
- energyblue, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Are all the numbers in the title too confusing for you?
- zabouth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i dunno access to 1.1.1 file tree for the iphone means that the ipod touch people now have access to the file system assuming its the same
- pmpk, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3WTG erica! props to dinopio and edgan
- TechBharat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hope I can upgrade my unlocked 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 with Apps.
- noisebleed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Being able to dig around the 1.1.1 file system and install some tools should prove very useful for understanding the encryption scheme.
- shawnz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2the former will probably imply the ladder
- shawnz, on 10/18/2007, -1/+1but... its running 1.0.2, not 1.1.1. the 1.1.1 firmware is installed to a different directory.
- joerod, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I never doubted this would happen I only wondered how long it would take.
- crossers, on 07/14/2008, -0/+0I like this way, couse there is a simple solution!

http://xptweak.net - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1If you can copy all the files off 1.1.1 from the phone, I don't see why you even need to understand it. Just copy off, patch, and copy back.
- SirZRX, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1they prove that they can be greedy as Microsoft and evil as Sony!
- kee440, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2*Gets giddy*

morons! - jdepp, on 10/10/2007, -15/+3It means he's tricking Apple LLC into using a condom when they upgrade-***** the iPhone
and he's now analysing the goop they left behind. :) - GodsDragon, on 10/10/2007, -22/+4God please stop digging the iPhone.
- carvsdriver, on 10/10/2007, -25/+2It is just a phone, Appletards.
