- skeen07, on 03/06/2008, -1/+105"This is NOT a cellphone game. It's a console game, if anything, we underestimated what the iPhone was able to do from the start, we had to fly in another artist to scale up the art to match what the iPhone could actually output."
Niiice. - kizzyle0508, on 03/06/2008, -2/+105MS Exchange support
thank you steve - joerod, on 03/06/2008, -2/+98bye bye blackberry, hello Iphone!
- kris33, on 03/06/2008, -4/+97SPORE!
- skeen07, on 03/06/2008, -3/+59I knew that the jailbroken apps hadn't fully tapped into the iPhones full potential.
- bigsteve, on 03/06/2008, -1/+57Free freeware apps! Apple foots the bill if you don't want to charge. Just has some content limitations. Looks like their "app signing" is what I hoped it would be, just a check to make sure it isn't malware by way of a singular app installation process. I'm impressed.
- MrMartyn, on 03/06/2008, -1/+53Touch Fighter! Just move the iPhone around to steer and tap anywhere to fire?! Full 3D! I'm impressed!
- LilBoyLuver, on 03/06/2008, -1/+51Q: What will happen if someone does a VOIP app?
A: We will only stop VOIP over cell networks, but not WiFi. - drewfer, on 03/06/2008, -5/+49Pleaseeee don't disapoint. I've waited too long.
- EvilAnimator, on 03/06/2008, -17/+57Suck it, MS Mobile!
- luckybeitia, on 03/06/2008, -1/+34THIS. IS. HUGE.
- MindStalker, on 03/06/2008, -6/+38Released in JUNE>?!?!
WTF!!
JUNE!
NOOOOOO!!!! - zareason, on 03/06/2008, -3/+332 weeks to get Spore running on the iPhone, nice!
Flash? No, that's impossible. ROFL. - RonAcierno, on 03/06/2008, -5/+34Holy *****, now I will actually be able to use my iPod touch on my University's Wireless WPA2/Enterprise network..... ABOUT ***** TIME!
- DanBoodro, on 03/06/2008, -2/+30Oh god, if Blizzard takes on the iPhone SDK with WoW, I might just die.
- inactive, on 03/06/2008, -5/+31Apple is set to become the dominant hand held gaming platform, ON ACCIDENT. Pwned.
- MindStalker, on 03/06/2008, -1/+27Spore!! On the iPhone!

- MrMartyn, on 03/06/2008, -6/+26NOT TILL JUNE!?!
- eleven, on 03/06/2008, -1/+20Yes June for consumers - today for developers.
- usingpond, on 03/06/2008, -4/+23Holy ***** it's Spore!
- digggggggggg, on 03/06/2008, -0/+18I'm not surprised. There's only so much you can do with reverse engineered API's.
That being said, I'm absolutely amazed that they were able to do so much with the iPhone already. - arjung, on 03/06/2008, -0/+18802.1X = w00t
- adambadam, on 03/06/2008, -4/+22EXCHANGE!
- sambapati87, on 03/06/2008, -0/+17developer.apple.com is being CRUSHED right now. apparently they underestimated the demand this was going to cause.
- Zippo, on 03/06/2008, -2/+19And Apple's like, mine's better than yours. Damn right, it's better than yours.
- batmant, on 03/06/2008, -0/+17@Adium - be ready by June...
- bigsteve, on 03/06/2008, -1/+18Activesync does not an MS Mobile make, my friend. MS Mobile feels like Windows 98 controlled by a toothpick on a playing card.
- MacParrot, on 03/06/2008, -1/+18I'm not sure why anyone is surprised. Isn't Exchange support one of the most requested features according to everything I've read here on digg. So they gave it to you. Apple wants to sell a lot of phones. Trying to re-invent the wheel in a business climate that is usually very reluctant to change means you use the tools that most people want.
In recent years Apple has added Windows support (as in it's easy to switch between them) to OS X, Intel processors, and other more common gear with their counterparts. Apple wants to make money, so you go where the money is. Simple as that. - evensong, on 03/06/2008, -1/+17So, in short:
SDK, Exchange, AppStore (*cough* Installer), and iFund
Bar none, iFund should be the news of the day, everything else was expected. 100M VC to recruit and fund developers for the platform? Granted it will only be for the most innovative developers, but its a huge bet that someone will use it to create the new killer app. Awesome news for any developer out there. - inactive, on 03/06/2008, -2/+18SPORE!
- damnyooneek, on 03/06/2008, -1/+17push email, AIM, games mmMmmmm
- FredFredrickson, on 03/06/2008, -2/+18HOLY ***** MAN!
- SyxxtySyxx, on 03/06/2008, -3/+18Spore on the iphone/ ipod touch? Didn't expect that one.
- inactive, on 03/06/2008, -1/+16Wow, was I wrong....
- piwy, on 03/06/2008, -0/+15Heck i'm more impressed with Spore.
[edit] No idea if it's gonna be released? Yah right, like EA is gonna skip a money bag like that. - Vegiemaster, on 03/06/2008, -0/+14This was the biggest thing keeping me from considering an iPhone. This is huge for Exchange based companies and will make the iPhone a very serious option for many businesspeople. It sure makes me happy! This SDK shows for some major potential as well! Thank you, Steve, indeed!
- MrMartyn, on 03/06/2008, -2/+16Supermonkey Ball! This just keeps getting better and better!
- primehifi, on 03/06/2008, -6/+19JUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOSE MUTHA UCKERS
- inkswamp, on 03/06/2008, -0/+13I've been so far lukewarm on the iPhone, but everything they're showing off today is amazing. Not only are they answering all the criticisms (Exchange support, SDK, etc.) but they are going about 3 or 4 steps further than anyone expected. Can anyone honestly say they expected to see demos of Super Monkey Ball or Spore? That's flat-out freakin' unreal. Now, the iPhone looks like what it should have been from the start and I'm actually finding myself interested in it.
- muslax27, on 03/06/2008, -3/+16WTF - Ipod Touch users have to pay...damn
- deadnoob, on 03/06/2008, -0/+13i have a feeling something like aim will be. i cant see monkey ball being free.
- brjndr, on 03/06/2008, -3/+16The boys will no longer come to the yard.
- takamalak, on 03/06/2008, -0/+12Or Adium :D
- saintnicster, on 03/06/2008, -0/+12Only if the developer wants to charge for it
- heysuburbia, on 03/06/2008, -2/+14Software Development Kit.
It will allow anyone (developers) to make applications to the iPhone -
