- koregaonpark, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15Thanks to Digg user 'theblueprint' for the link.
http://digg.com/apple/Official_Apple_Icons_Free_Downloads?t=7556896#c7556896 - skidogallard, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Nice. It's always good to have a free alternative.
- skidogallard, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I actually like how it is organized. In my opinion it is better than CandyBar.
- rstarr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8So it's like Candybar, but free?
Anyone use it yet? If so, is there any difference? - lukee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Man... there must be some panic at Panic over this.
- joltguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Are you crazy or just trolling? In OS X you have always been able to change the icons in via the "Get Info" dialog, just as you could in OS 9.
- Powerdrift, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Actually, you can change that icon without this app. Right click on the icon, click on Get Info, click on the icon, and paste the icon from your clipboard (so you will have had to previously copied an icon).

- fxspec06, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5ummmm ... so can i get my money back for candyBar now? ≥_≤
- bsnatch, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Should the original link go down again -- http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/icons_screensavers/liteicon.html
- antdude, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4http://www.freemacsoft.net.nyud.net:8080/LiteIcon_en.html
- mattprice, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4If you download software for Windows then yes, but I don't recall Microsoft ever making away to apply icon sets easily.
- R031E5, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I can't believe anyone has mentioned Pixadex! > http://iconfactory.com/software/pixadex
- jocab64, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5You can already do that by command clicking and selecting get info, then copy and paste the new icon.
- gmprunner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Where is this "Leopard-like UI" I keep hearing about? I have yet to see it.
Great programs though, found it the other day. - koregaonpark, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4@ iamcool: That doesn't work for some system icons, like the Finder.
- skidogallard, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4They are. Just click the little British flag
- Khemikl, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6Yay, some control we lost in OS9 back - is this the beginning of the return of democracy?
- brnagi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Finally, been looking forward to something like this for a while!
- usbcd36, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It doesn't seem to support iContainers. Unless you're changing icons every month or something, it's probably not going to cause too many problems.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Not system icons, eg the standard folder icon.
- Karmavs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3why would anyone? Its not related to this at all.
Pixadex is just an iPhoto for icons (which is kind of stupid since iPhoto & most competitors support icons anyway)
Mabye you mean Candybar (which has been mentioned)? http://www.panic.com/candybar/
http://www.panic.com/candybar/ - sn0wkitty, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3That's going to be a very long process if you plan on changing all the icons in your system...
- LilyFoxglove, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3They compete with every other product they make.
Candybar is hardly their "big title". - NeoRicen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You can't change system Icons that way, pay attention this has been said numerous times in the comments already.
- r2builder, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3That stuff isn't funny anymore. Stop it.
- hater2win, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Sure you could but it is ridiculously hard. In windows, I can apply an icon set easily. In OSX, gotta go 1 by 1.
- NeoRicen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The darker toolbar is a leopard thing, that's about it.
- wiihuck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1it crashed my computer. i am now troubleshooting in safe mode as my macbook won't boot up normally. hmm....
- Phipman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Step AWAY from the caps lock before we have to put you down
- colindunn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1sweet. now we just need to replace its icon...
- Drewboy64, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Finally I can have that Hal 3000 hard drive icon that I desire!!!
- aahpandasrun, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Haven't you always been able to easily change icons on a mac? Maybe it changed in OSX. I dunno.
- danswayuk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Mirror Link: in case goes down
http://www.product-reviews.net/2007/07/05/liteicon-app-change-mac-os-x-system-icons-for-free/ - presentday, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It's not definitely better than CandyBar, but still.. Great news to hear in the morning.. That you spent 15$ on a licence key and I you could have wait one week to find out that there is a free substitute.
- hermes369, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I didn't read that on the top level, so I added my two cents. Sorry, my noobs are showing. I haven't tried this; but, what happens if you log out as your current user, log in as root and then change system icons via the Get Info window?
- Pingspike, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Sweet! at long last. hmm, shame the deets arent in Engrish.
- iRoy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I can't believe it's not butter!
- nkthen, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1http://www.sublimelinkdirectory.com
- Karmavs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I don't think you're getting the point exactly: you can change any single icon rather easily - but there's not accessible way to, for example, change the way all your folder icons appear by default, or all mp3 files, or the trash icon etc.
- mattprice, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I really hope that wasn't meant to be funny.
- hermes369, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1What happened to copy and paste in the get info window?
- pianomansam, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Downloaded it, tried it, can't get it to save the changes... keeps on saying "Unable to save the new icon"
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Micon, been using it for ages
- bloaty, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1there have been MANY programs to change the icons on your mac, pic2icon to name one, but you can even just use finder by copying an icon form one info box to another.
- MrBuckley, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Aww it can't change applications icon's
- iamcool, on 10/11/2007, -2/+0Why use a program? Right click and select get info. Then just drag an icon onto the icon in the get info window. The Mac truely is click and drag.
- oxygen2, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1In Soviet Russia, Icon changes You!
- bsnatch, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1duplicate post, feel free to digg this one down.
- kolywater, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2down at 25 diggs. that does it, the internet officially sucks.
