I AM SO SICK OF viewmymessage.com - Echelon221, on 12/29/2007, -4/+80Its already been stated that the SDK won't be released until February...Deal with it.
- websyndicate, on 12/29/2007, -14/+60I like turtles!
- spooniep, on 12/29/2007, -2/+45I guess I'll have to take the cell-phone tower triangulation until the GPS module comes out. Still, it's cool that they'll at least do that,.
- mark076h, on 12/29/2007, -8/+48how about flash support for the browser
- diggerdong, on 12/29/2007, -0/+33Gearlive is now Geardead. Mirror plz?? :)
- Carsonauto, on 12/29/2007, -5/+37And how soon can I jailbreak it?
- Firehed, on 12/29/2007, -0/+29Only on hacked iPhones. Right now on an unhacked phone, there's no way to even put stuff there to paginate.
- sophiaperennis, on 12/29/2007, -2/+30How about sending more than 1 picture at a time by Mail? I would like that.
- jtcalhoun, on 12/29/2007, -3/+30I agree. Here in 2008, MMS is a redundant and aging technology. All of its functionality can be accomplished by email. If anything, we should be pushing for the further adoption of email across mobile devices.
If all phones had the capability to send and receive email, cellular subscribers would no longer be required to pay for separate services to send MMS to phones and email to computers (and other devices).
Frankly, SMS could also be eliminated in favor of threaded email conversations, but consumers apparently enjoy paying for three services when a simple data plan (or even free wifi) should be able to do the same thing. - benitojuarez, on 12/29/2007, -1/+28thats not very accurate
- normalkid, on 12/29/2007, -2/+26mirror of some of the images at http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=40643 ...
- Dtopler, on 12/29/2007, -1/+22It's about time we can send text messages to multiple contacts. Now we need some form of copy/paste, or the ability to resend/forward a text message, and I'd be happy in the SMS department.
I wonder how well the cell phone triangulation works for GPS use. I know someone put together a 3rd-party iPhone hack that used it, but I never tried it out. Anyone know how accurate it is, and if it's a suitable GPS-substitute? - GirSaysDoom13, on 12/29/2007, -1/+22any news if any of these are for the iPod Touch, too?
- tdowling, on 12/29/2007, -4/+24you don't have to be a fanboy to hate on a troll!
- lqqkout4elfy, on 12/29/2007, -5/+23Get some flash in there and make us all happy!
- happyseamonster, on 12/29/2007, -0/+17"Some time in the next 10 minutes, turn left."
- obeygiant, on 12/29/2007, -1/+18well, actually, spargett.... YOU can keep your $24.99.
- fr0z3n, on 12/29/2007, -0/+17MIRROR:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/13682329@N08/ - wisie, on 12/29/2007, -6/+22Features that I'm amazed were neglected with the initial release
- lookoutforchris, on 12/29/2007, -0/+16One of the simple things I want is a damn to do list. In iCal you can add to do items, why the hell can' t those be synced to the iPhone calendar and then vibrate/alarm when I'm supposed to have done something? Still the new firmware looks good.
- Firehed, on 12/29/2007, -4/+19Speak for yourself. I'd much rather send an email with pic attachment (that would happen in exactly the same way as sending the pic via MMS) to phonenumber@vtext.com or whatever it is for the carrier and not waste fifty cents a message. If it were smart enough to do this automatically by using your contact's phone number and doing some sort of carrier lookup, so much the better, but I quite like not having to pay some insane rate to send 100k or so of data.
- blurrie, on 12/29/2007, -1/+14i'd like mms.
but i can live w/o mms.
i really want ichat.
it's the only thing phones like the sidekick have one up on the iphone..(aim support)
with the addition of ichat and mms though.. the iphone can't be touched. - burninghotfire, on 12/29/2007, -0/+12I'd like to see:
-MMS
-Video recording
-The ability to type in landscape mode for text messages and emails
-ichat
All of this and I'd be happy, um.. happier - Naga10, on 12/29/2007, -0/+12So it can tell if you're in one side of the town or the other? 2000m is a VERY large distance.
- HimThatSpeaks, on 12/29/2007, -1/+13Heck yeah. This freaking viewmymessage does not work half the time. Here is a 10 digit hex username and a 8 digit hex password that you did not create and have no relation to anything. It is the bane of my iphone.
- likwidfuzion, on 12/29/2007, -1/+13Erica Sadun's SendPic native app does that.
- andru, on 12/29/2007, -0/+11Uh - I took these pictures. want to now why the time is different? Because the battery in my camera died, and my wife and I have to leave the house. I left it to charge, and finished the article when I got home.
- damnyooneek, on 12/29/2007, -0/+11I have the beta version of google maps for the blackberry and it has the feature. it tells its accuracy when it calculates and its usually between 600-2000m
- tdowling, on 12/29/2007, -2/+13Indeed that is true, 10GunSalute. And yet your comment remains troll-irific.
- andru, on 12/29/2007, -1/+12Again, I took these images. Seriously, if you dont believe them, whatever.
- coldfusion1970, on 12/29/2007, -0/+101.0 product.
- spargett, on 12/29/2007, -0/+10Never soon enough.
- asuraci, on 12/29/2007, -0/+10Not necessarily: "You can now add web bookmarks to your home screen"
- kjcdude, on 12/29/2007, -0/+9yea you do
- spargett, on 12/29/2007, -0/+9"Us" not including your battery.
- jackwk, on 12/29/2007, -3/+11how about some freakin' 801.1X support
- happyseamonster, on 12/29/2007, -0/+8You're generalizing as if there were a "they".
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -1/+8hopefully it's as easy as 1.1.2 was with oktoprep.
i'm not upgrading til it's jailbroken. i love iPhysics too much. - HimThatSpeaks, on 12/29/2007, -2/+9Do you justify your dumbass comment getting dugg down because of fanboys when you need to just accept responsibility that your comment sucked.
- happyseamonster, on 12/29/2007, -1/+8Flash revs a CPU higher than a Civic on a Friday night.
- Angostura, on 12/29/2007, -0/+6Who would have though several 100 thousand people could be inconsistent, eh?
- Firehed, on 12/29/2007, -0/+6That's awful. When I was playing around with Navizon on my iPhone, it would be accurate to at least what building I was in. Certainly not to the foot like a proper GPS, but at least close enough that I could easily figure out where I was on the map or find a street to reference. Well, at least in areas with decent coverage. At my house, it couldn't find me at all.
Of course, Navizon does use both WiFi APs and cell towers; given the uniqueness of the APs and their range, you can really hone in. - Ireland, on 12/29/2007, -1/+7Mirror mirror on the wall, who will save the servers when they fall? Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/83512992@N00/21462119 ...
- dhl07, on 12/29/2007, -1/+7Pic messaging would also be quite nice.
Wondering how long I'll have to wait for that. - likwidfuzion, on 12/29/2007, -3/+9SMSD in Installer.app already does multiple recipients, resend, forward text messages.
Cell triangulation isn't very accurate. - diggumjonez, on 12/29/2007, -1/+6Having worked in software development for mature and brand new products, there is no way to get every feature every person wants into a first release. People are always "amazed" that their pet feature was left out when, generally, the actual demand for that feature is fairly low.
Was "drag & drop" icons on the home screen that amazing a feature to leave out when, at launch, there were only a few icons to begin with? were bookmarks littering your home screen that big a deal? - jimmyleet, on 12/29/2007, -1/+6Great news, lets get a ETA then the unlock for all us 1.1.2 can finally arrive
- coldfusion1970, on 12/29/2007, -0/+5Well get it repaired. Its bound to be still within its one year warranty.
