- nfxmedia, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Not just Final Cut 6, but the Studio suite. Maybe even Logic update.
- notjamt9000, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2Is that meant to be an apple symbol? because I see a €
- Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22That question mark is the apple LOGO, by the way.
- notjamt9000, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1This is what it looks like for me:
http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/1762/screenshot1sn1.png - BrokenBeta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41Inexplicably, I see the words "Ryan Ford" instead of the Apple logo.
( screenshot: http://brokenbeta.googlepages.com/ryanford.png ) - notjamt9000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17@BrokenBeta: Ryan Ford is a font designer, looks like he left his signature.
"MyFonts’ review: Ryan Ford is a typographic designer from southern California. His new sans-serif is Fonce Sans, a monoline series in two weights with small capitals. Ryan’s open about the influence of famous designs – DIN, Helvetica, Interstate, and Trade Gothic to be precise – but he notes a certain Dutch flavor in the resulting blend. A tall x-height aids legibility." http://www.myfonts.com/foundry/ryanford/ - Killah_xxx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11An €? This is what I see:

"miniml" is what it says. - fowleryo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+23is it absolutely necessary to tell everyone how that apple symbol shows up? we get it, pc users see random icons. enough.
- ProximaC, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1bah. Someone beat me to it.
- longboarder543, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11In the spirit of pointless speculation, I say they are switching the entire Mac line over to ARM processors within the next year.
- stuf, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Must be the problem in digg's CSS, that they don't have support for that character on Mac fonts (http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/8612/picture1yr9.png). Altough, it's a two-edged blade, the topic of this article - on one hand, it should be read "Lights Camera Apple", but the usage of the Apple symbol (lolz Alt-A on macs) as text is beyond me, because the only ones seeing the character will be the Apple font users.
This is where I start writing crap, because I came to think of the target audience for this. :s Maybe I should stop writing soon. - markdr123, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2I get a black rectangle with a crown and '04' in white.
Wierd... - mercurysquad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Haha I do see an apple logo in the title and description. Interestingly, notjam2k's comment also shows an apple first and the euro sign second.
- djelder, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0and possibly an update to Shake with the Final Touch suite addition
- tobsterius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I don't think Shake will be around for too much longer. Apple has stated that no update to Shake will be released as they are working on the "next generation of Shake compositing software."
That was also the reason for the major price cut. - tobsterius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6not sure why i'm getting dugg down... might as well back it up with some links to show you I'm not making it up:

Last paragraph:
At the NAB event in April 2006, Apple announced that Shake 4.1 would be a Universal Binary version and would ship in May that year. It was actually released on 20 June 2006 and was rebranded as a companion for Final Cut Studio[6]; as such, its price was dropped from $2999 to $499 for Mac OS X (but remained the same for Linux). At the same time, Apple also announced that they would end support for Shake, as they begin work on the next-generation software, rumoured to be known as codename Phenomenon [7] Existing customers had the option to purchase the Shake source code for $50,000.

- jackwaters, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10I don't think that anyone should get their hopes up to much.... I don't think that it is going to be anything too major....

- fober, on 10/12/2007, -11/+9 you say?
Something tells me there's a lot more to than we think.
Based on speculation alone, the will far exceed any expectations placed on previous s.
I might just have to throw out the old and start saving up.

It is the same three-ball design as on the invitation.....- tobsterius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3since NAB is a pro video event, you can expect FCP will be one of their focuses...
- rcran, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That is an out of focus photo of street lights that has been used as a poster for the final cut studio for years...

- godamit, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1I that it was going to be Apple DSLR or whatever... Eh...
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I that too.
- RexRufus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Is anyone else seeing it as the Klingon Empire logo? I'm using Firefox 2.002 on XP, if that matters.
- hotdamn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6You can only see the Apple on a Mac, so yes, it matters.
- invinciblechunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I see Lights Camera Klingon as well. It's because U+F8FF is a Klingon symbol in the unofficial ConScript Unicode Registry, which is included in some catch-all fonts like Code2000.
But like I've said before, there are no official characters for U+E000 through U+F8FF. It's a Private Use Area. Just because Apple thinks U+F8FF should be an Apple logo doesn't make it so. If you press your Option-Cloverleaf-Whatever to make an Apple logo, it's just going to look like random garbage to everyone who's not using a Mac (and some people who are using Macs), and you're just going to look dumb.
- insanewriters, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There is also an unexplained lack of iMacs on the market, so unless they are released beforehand, we might see new iMacs too. I'm going to guess if there is a new piece of hardware, there will be a Blu-Ray burner option.
- danjal, on 10/12/2007, -10/+8... i'm using a mac... and i still find the apple logo in the topic anoying, marked as lame..
- trebe, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Action? Apple's producing an action movie?????????????

- djshinodalp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Apple's making a movie!! Will Noah Wyle sport the black sweater while holding an iPhone, or something else? Hmmm....

Final Cut Studio 6 :D - tastyterrorist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3What's the keyboard shortcut for the apple symbol? (mac)

- Radan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Or Options + a (at least on Swedish keyboards)
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2on a swiss keyboard... Option+A gives me a swedish 'Å' :-) I think I have found a loop in the universe.
- WebCester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's option-shift-' on a Swiss keyboard, btw.
- MacMasore, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Action ?
So something for the movies - AHemp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I'm excited, however Adobe is also showcasing their new production suite in 1 week. I saw it demonstrated firsthand at a conference a few days ago and it was really, really cool.
- rrobster, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1iCamera?
- panique, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Cue the PC fanboys saying "WTF does lights camera box" mean?
- Numbski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4PC Fanboys? I'm on Firefox/Intel mac mini, and it's a box here too.
- snowwrestler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Has anyone else had problems with the last character? I only see a weird little Hitler head spinning around and telling me to burn stuff.
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Ok, now just turn off the computer and close your eyes. If you still see it, you need medical help.
- loutang82, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Dont' forget about Photoshop. I heard things about new video possibilities
- jakrus34, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1you mean premiere, but thats made by adobe, not apple. So no this has nothing to do with photoshop
- lemonloser, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0apple has the best ideas. always
