- timusca, on 10/23/2007, -20/+313Is this the same release date as the torrent?

Leopard is out.
At this level of improbabilty I expect to see Duke Nukem Forever next week :) - inactive, on 10/22/2007, -7/+119FINALLY
- roberto_deneero, on 10/23/2007, -9/+120Correction: Vista public beta is out. Still doing testing for final release as SP2 sometime in '11.
- Mookeh, on 10/17/2007, -9/+83Check out the new education discount. Ugh.

http://www.apple.com/ (and an official counter!) - stacky, on 10/23/2007, -9/+65A few days after.
- Commodus, on 10/17/2007, -1/+50Five-user license. It basically means you can use it on all your home Macs guilt-free.
- ibeetle, on 10/23/2007, -0/+41Why link to a blog. Just link to the Apple home page.
Apples half page countdown clock pretty much lets people know what is going on. - thewfirestarter, on 10/18/2007, -1/+38Because that would ruin a perfectly good running joke.
- joeycerone, on 10/17/2007, -4/+40student price is $116.....thanks for the $13 discount, steve.
- lavawalker, on 10/18/2007, -4/+37Tiger was $69 from what I remember, too bad about leopard at $116.
- coaxfun, on 10/17/2007, -3/+36hey... tf2 is out, so anything can happen...
- inactive, on 10/18/2007, -7/+38No it doesn't come with a toy, Parallels Desktop and Vista are sold seperate
~ LOL ICE BURNNNNNNNNNNED ~ - timusca, on 10/17/2007, -2/+30Multiple licenses... and a rubber duck.
- KnightWhoSaysNi, on 10/22/2007, -4/+31It's "would have" not "would of"
Sorry, pet peeve. - SirCrumpet, on 10/17/2007, -4/+27iTunes is buggy on windows, yes, but works like a charm on macs from my experience.
- Quix, on 10/17/2007, -7/+29"Still a ***** load for what is essentially a service pack for a product beginning to show its age," said the chronic anti-Apple basher who happily paid $399 for Windows Vista Ultimate Edition that adds some glossy skins to XP and some intrusive new "security" features. Sadly, none of your peripherals work any more...
Zybch - troll different. - mytimac, on 10/17/2007, -2/+23No more big discounts for students and education staff.
116 edu price
But Edu school purchase price is 69. - firefoxguy, on 10/17/2007, -4/+24Probably because the Canadian dollar is worth more than the American.
- PaulPinfield, on 10/18/2007, -1/+19... to XP.
- jads, on 10/23/2007, -0/+18Leopard Server is also being launched the same day
- agent888, on 10/17/2007, -1/+19I just ordered my Mac on the 5th of October, and got it last week. When I just chatted with an agent they said I would be eligible to upgrade for $9.95. I havent found where on the site to get that information though, or put that order in.
- jkoke, on 10/17/2007, -1/+18You can (because Apple doesn't have copy protection on their OS software), but it's not legal.
- Lou3000, on 10/17/2007, -3/+20Education discount is now almost non-existent. $116 vs. Tiger Education Discount that was $69.
Boo. I'm an actual student, not like all of the people that just click Education. - mlostracco, on 10/17/2007, -3/+20And in Canada the price is on par with the U.S. instead of marked-up! Shock!
Now if only they'd give me that $30 bucks markup back for .Mac... - jcll, on 10/17/2007, -0/+17http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/
- antitab, on 10/16/2007, -2/+19*facepalm*
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 10/16/2007, -3/+19Thanks for telling us that you know nothing about OS X. Were you talking about Vista, perhaps?
- dellis, on 10/22/2007, -2/+18can someone post me a link to a 2007 BMW Z4 (roadster), around 850 USD with a six cylinder engine, manual transmission, leather seats, and 6 disc changer? Because I am planning on selling my Geo Metro and buying a BMW. THX
Warning: There may be some sarcasm lurking around here. - knightboat, on 10/17/2007, -5/+20I agree, I can't believe how cheap that is considering that an upgrade to go from Windows 2000 (5.0) to Windows XP (5.1) is $199.
- carnag3aus, on 10/17/2007, -1/+16Not legally, but you won't encounter any problems.
- Quix, on 10/17/2007, -0/+15"I agree, I can't believe how cheap that is considering that an upgrade to go from Windows 2000 (5.0) to Windows XP (5.1) is $199." - knightboat
Or that stepping down from Windows XP (5.1) to Windows Vista Ultimate (5.05) is $260... - msgyrd, on 10/17/2007, -0/+15The OP stated he had an iMac and a Macbook. If you're in college and can afford those two items plus being able to afford a regular copy of Leopard as soon as it's released, $70 probably isn't that much to you in your overall finances.
- mym6, on 10/17/2007, -0/+14After reading up on the features that aren't "front page news" I'm a bit more interested in Leopard. Improvements to DVD player, Terminal, Front Row, ability to share folders without manually editing a config file, all nice stuff.
Check it out
http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/300.html - Chirp08, on 10/17/2007, -3/+17You are seriously complaining about the price? Jesus have you looked at what Vista costs these days, they might as well be giving OSX away at that price..
- DonCarcharo, on 10/16/2007, -5/+19I've been buying the educational version of OS X for years and it's been $69 as long as I could remember. Looks like I won't be pre-ordering.
- avatarpalin, on 10/17/2007, -8/+22It's out that's great but to be honest Tiger works so well with what I want I can't agree with the statment 'FINALLY'.. If Vista had another six months it would of, well still sucked but at least a couple more scanners and printers would of worked.
The bottom line is Tiger is great, and maybe we were spoilt with a release almost every year.. I have no idea what is takes to make a great operating system but I'm pretty sure Apple do, so if they need extra time.. Well as far as I am concerned they can have it.
If they say it's ready.. then it's ready.. - rayskin, on 10/22/2007, -2/+16Food and The Pirate Bay?
- mackie99, on 10/18/2007, -4/+17It's been online for over a month.
- vertinox, on 10/17/2007, -2/+15Mac OS X upgrades have always been $129 as far as I remember. I got Panther for $129 back in 2003.
Secondly, its still cheaper than a Windows Vista Upgrade. - PaulPinfield, on 10/17/2007, -1/+14Yeah, good one. A business acquaintance of mine is busy "upgrading" all his Vista boxes...
- spyder91, on 10/17/2007, -2/+15The "I work for an authorized dealer discount" is $107.10. I'm pretty sure they just have Woz in a cage and make him point at large numbers on a wall until they hit a dollar amount. Either that or he swims around in a cage pushing numbered balls into succession like the manatee writers for Family Guy.
- inactive, on 10/17/2007, -1/+13I think you mean "on or AFTER October 1st."
- bagelpirate, on 10/18/2007, -3/+15Isn't windows always a public beta?
- mywhitenoise, on 10/22/2007, -0/+12Leopard only took 'forever' because they made it seem like it was going to come out 6 months ago. When did Tiger come out, 2 and a half years ago?
- Seidoger, on 10/17/2007, -3/+14No no no you have it all wrong. It comes WITH kids. Family pack is a family in a pack.
- coolbru, on 10/17/2007, -3/+14Expensive? Are we talking about the same product?
- 85lesabre, on 10/16/2007, -2/+13It's a whole hell of allot cheaper than vista.
