What could go wrong? - P1um, on 08/28/2008, -7/+32Why So Portable?
- magneteye, on 08/28/2008, -5/+27What could go wrong? Battery life.
- Scrappy1850, on 08/28/2008, -0/+12you will play it more than others
- lndmn01, on 08/28/2008, -0/+12He looks like your girlfriend too.
- Scrappy1850, on 08/28/2008, -0/+7don't remind me
- serif69, on 08/28/2008, -3/+10Christ, if that isn't a headline destined for the front page, I don't know what is.
EDIT: Well would you look at that... - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -1/+7please let it come, PLEASE
- FasmTrout, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5Idiot.
- Balanced, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5The Lego Star Wars games are pretty good. I don't know how well it transfers to Indiana Jones and/or batman but they take a fun tongue-in-cheek looka t the Star Wars series. it's the classic sequences every Star Wars games seems to include (How many times have games done a 'Death Star Trench Run' level?) but with some mechanics that make puzzles interesting.
The above Death Star mention is actually one thing I'm not crazy about: The vehicle levels are decidedly 'meh' as they're just not as fun as the ground-based levels. When on the ground you have a limited party and you control one character. The rest are nearly ineffectual at combat, but they're also immortal, so all is well. You switch characters for many puzzles, as characters have some different abilities: Jedi characters can sue the Force to manipulate objects, Sith can do normal Force stuff plus some 'Dark Side' stuff, there are two 'Droid' panels that only work for the appropriate droid (Astronavigation i.e. R2D2 or protocol i.e. C3P0), doors only Bounty Hunters (including anyone wearing a bounty hunter hat) or Storm Troopers can use, etc.
it's surprisingly good. I've heard the Lego Indiana Jones is a bit weird because it's the same formula but the franchise isn't team based.Lego batman at least has sidekicks and such.
Also, at least in the Saga Edition, Han does shoot first. - AustinMeoang, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4I'm not sure exactly how the controls would work, a touchscreen wouldn't replace a controller well, so I'm curious to see how they will handle it if this game comes out on the iPhone.
- MikeFromAmerica, on 08/28/2008, -1/+4Robin
- Scrappy1850, on 08/28/2008, -2/+5you sound like my gf
- jdpafundi, on 08/28/2008, -2/+5So you'd prefer to not have the option of getting this game?
- redwallhp, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Yeah, one of the most fun games I've seen in awhile.
By the way... "Jedi characters can sue the Force to manipulate objects." Quick, Qui-Gon, sue the Force. We need money. - MOJIRA, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3I'd imagine the 3d engine is more system intensive than say... solitaire.
But honestly, I've played Enigmo for hours and hours and had plenty of battery left. - dumass4u, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2Robin's a munchkin!
- AZRoboto, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2Just in case you don't read the article, since this is an Images submission after all, here it is:
"The latest installment in the LEGO Thing franchise — LEGO Batman — could be heading to the iPhone, reports Pocket Gamer.
There have been earlier Java midlet versions of LEGO games - notably Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, but it would be nice to think that theiPhone would get a proper conversion..
The possibilities for manipulating LEGO bricks using multi-touch gestures could make for an interesting twist on the LEGO gameplay. Even if it is just a port of the DS version, though, it should be worth checking out providing the thorny issue of lack of D-Pad is resolved.
Pocketgamer don't mention a source for the news — hence the rumor tag — but as soon as we get more details, you shall be the first to know." - dajuggernaut, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2now don't sell yourself short..
you are the first one to be buried! - cthellis, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2That's always going to be the sticking point with games. It can undoubtedly look good enough, but will it make effective use of the input mechanics?
I mean, they can go the lazy route and stitch on a little visual gamepad and buttons on the bottom, but they also have the ability to mix in neat alternate controls or features. The game doesn't have to play exactly the same as on other devices... it should play appropriately to the device. - Chebsi, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2IIRC, it's not based on any movie.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -1/+2Baseless claims are not news, people.
- p3rsius, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1Thats pretty cool i wonder how much it will cost
- theadvinci, on 08/28/2008, -1/+2What's the point of having a movie, that is made into a game, a LEGO game (wtf), to be ported on iPhone... Although I'm crazy (dumb?) enough to play it.
Now all I have to do is get an iPhone! - cthellis, on 08/28/2008, -1/+2I believe that's why it says "rumor."
It's not like something that's "news" is automatically "worth talking about" anyway. - BIGJHUB, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1ohmahgoodness.
- nexus37, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Who gives a *****. Digg has reached a new low.
- timusca, on 08/28/2008, -3/+4And how would this game drain it any faster than others?
- cthellis, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Sounds HOT! DAMN hot!
(Are you SURE heat transfer coefficients aren't involved?) - Whitey07, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Sounds pretty cool!.
- acroyear2, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1Ugh.
Coming Soon! RC Cola Barbi for your Tomagachi!
I hate these mixed franchise endevours. - nephilimx, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Not to get to excited but Lego series is about contantly buttonmashing everything to collect lego money (its how u unlock everything in the series), I dont see how that will work with a touch screen.
- mrgreen4242, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1This makes me feel a little better about my decision to sell my Wii*. As a new Dad I just don't have time for gaming, but as a touch owner it pleases me that for just an investment in software I can pick up some AAA titles for play when I do get a free minute. This fall looks good for some big name games on the iPhone - I'll buy Spore for one... I play iPod games in the bathroom at work. :p
* Wii for sale send me Shout if you want to buy a like-new Wii with 8 games, two controllers, and some extras. ;) - superbrad, on 08/28/2008, -0/+0The best 15 minutes of play-time on the iPhone...until the battery runs out.
- cthellis, on 08/28/2008, -1/+1Heat transfer coefficients?
- Droobs, on 09/04/2008, -0/+0This will be the first iPhone game I buy if this is true.
- jamesmb, on 08/31/2008, -0/+0OK, it's only a rumour but it's a great one. Let it happen, let it happen quick and, ideally, let it happen for no more than £5.99!
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -2/+1NO I'm talkin' blazingly inaccurate UI, remarkably short battery life, the need for hourly soft-resets, and the only phone that can bring you the blue screen of death AND kernel stack errors.
- Hockey37, on 08/28/2008, -3/+2I, on the other hand, will only buy it if it is as expensive as the I Am Rich app.
- welestgw, on 08/28/2008, -3/+2It's all part of the plan.
- ElAmo, on 08/28/2008, -4/+2Anyone else not see the point of making a video game about LEGO's? It seems so pointless. A non LEGO Batman game would be so much better.
- MOJIRA, on 08/28/2008, -8/+3Ehh, weak.. thanks for playing. Try again.
- imasuperDOTcom, on 08/28/2008, -5/+0Well if a blog says it, it must be True!
- SnapDragon86, on 08/28/2008, -7/+1ill buy it as long as its not as expensive as the Im Rich app
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -11/+2iPhones are for little girls, HTC for life bitches!
