- ChrisHB, on 12/31/2008, -3/+64This is so that you cannot put it in your pocket.
- Shogi, on 12/31/2008, -5/+58Why?
The whole point of the iPod is to be small and portable. This thing won't fit in any pocket, so you'd have to carry a bag for it and at that point, you might as well get a laptop. - roebeet, on 12/31/2008, -2/+54iTablet.

- HeavyWave, on 12/31/2008, -16/+45another iCrap + mrbabyman = bury
- carbonfilament, on 12/31/2008, -2/+20it comes with a gold chain and the home screen is an analogue clock.
- jboitnott, on 12/31/2008, -2/+19It's essentially a mini computer that people will be carrying around with themselves all the time.
- oriondr, on 12/31/2008, -6/+23Not only that, but I would assume that this would have all the limitations of the iPod... ie it's still completely locked down and anti-competitive in terms of software.
Make it a full-fledge PC without all the stupid locks, then we'll talk about buying a 9 inch version. - inactive, on 12/31/2008, -7/+24I wish someone would bury mrbabyspam
- MrChunks, on 12/31/2008, -1/+17I didn't notice this was from mrbabyman. I wonder who he stole this story from.

- bean48009, on 12/31/2008, -0/+10Buried! for mrbabyman being mrbabyman...
- macmcraeart, on 12/31/2008, -0/+9Porn maybe?
- inetiatic, on 12/31/2008, -1/+9It seems like a great idea-But they could do some sweet stuff for photos music videos and basic web browsing. Could be really sweet.
- mikev, on 12/31/2008, -3/+11Agreed. A huge device running the same OS as iPhone/iPod Touch would be stupid considering its limitations. I don't think Apple would develop a (third) version of OS X just for this device. I say this rumor is bs
- linuxpenguin, on 12/31/2008, -2/+9"are you guys retarded?"
Nope. Are you?

If you want to reply to someone's comment, use the "Reply" button in the lower right - AKA "over here" \/ \/ - Brassbud, on 12/31/2008, -1/+8Will the Apple store start selling iPants with huge pockets?
- Chooxo, on 12/31/2008, -0/+7iPod Kilo.
- ElAmo, on 12/31/2008, -3/+10Somehow I doubt they will make a "large screen ipod touch". Apple is all about design, and simply enlarging an ipod would look very strange, and would be nowhere near as utilitarian as a different design with more buttons, different software, etc. Increasing the screen size would also require more powerful hardware to run it, which would require a better battery, which would in turn require an increase in thickness, and probably a whole new design.
I have no doubt they will crank out a tablet soon, just not a verbatim "large screen ipod touch", - MacParrot, on 12/31/2008, -0/+7Apple is about making money. If there's a market for it, they will (eventually) make it
- ctdkid, on 12/31/2008, -6/+12I thought apple was all about making things smaller, not bigger
- thegamingguy, on 12/31/2008, -3/+9I am a video and audio fanatic and really hate trying to watch videos on my iphone or busting out my laptop in certain situations, like planes. If I am able to get a decent sized, thin screen that I can tote around, I am down. I may even be morre interested in their games too.
- rotundo, on 12/31/2008, -1/+7I actually had a relative ask if they had a larger version of the iPod Touch just a couple days ago, because they loved the interface and functionality but didn't like the small screen and keyboard. I think there's a pretty decent market for something like that.
- orangederange, on 12/31/2008, -2/+8Apple's version of the netbook/mini-tablet? kindle ebook reader killer? I'd like to see bluetooth on it especially.
- blur13, on 12/31/2008, -1/+6he strikes yet again.
- TypeEE, on 12/31/2008, -0/+5would it have copy and paste?
- danwallace, on 12/31/2008, -1/+6It's the iFlav
- Paulish, on 12/31/2008, -0/+5I don't think it would make a good ebook reader. It wouldn't have the electronic paper that makes ebook readers last for hours and hours. Plus people don't like reading of LCD screens, which is part of the reason why electronic paper was such a success; less eye strain. The battery would wind down too fast to market it in such a manner, although I am sure many people will use it as an ebook reader.
- belebih, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4Seems kind of pointless. For the ridiculous price this is probably gonna sell at you're better off just buying a laptop and getting much more bang for your buck.
- Antimatter85, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4Pockets are so 20th century. Apple is just ahead of the curve here.
- nchenu, on 01/01/2009, -0/+4Digga please.
- Protoss, on 12/31/2008, -1/+5This would probably be Apple's answer to the Netbook.
- vizeroth, on 12/31/2008, -1/+5Yeah, because Apple's doing such a good job bringing on game developers.
- BrendanSheehan, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4No, Mac touch.
- MavRevMatt, on 12/31/2008, -2/+6I wouldn't want to read anything long on a screen like the iPod Touch. The backlight would just get to me after a while. Now, if there was some separate "reading mode" then maybe we could talk.
- danwallace, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3What does this have to do with the PSP?
- digitalpencil, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3Apple's already said they aren't even considering playing in the netbook category until that market proves itself profitable under their model and we've been hearing tablet rumours for ***** years. there's nothing new here, just more *****.
- santaliqueur, on 12/31/2008, -3/+6I dugg you up.
Psych! - Richandler, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3I dub thee iStation
- CynicSight, on 12/31/2008, -1/+4Drama queen huh? Tell that to the other 18.8k people who dugg this: http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_this_if_your_sick_o ...
Just because your apathy blinds you doesn't make me a drama queen. You *****. - rumblestrut, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3If you've ever used Preview on Mac OS X to read an e-book, then you know why this would be the perfect e-book reader.
Preview is a decent app for reading PDFs. For one, it has a "bookmark" feature that saves your place where you left off, unlike Adobe Reader (perhaps other viewers do this too?). You can either manually set the bookmark, or if you quit the application, it'll remember where you left off and open the page you were on before you quit.
Add wireless and a touch screen keyboard, and you've got the ultimate portable computer. One piece of hardware, but with a software keyboard, it would be used by users of multiple languages.
I see great possibilities for something like this. I hope it's true. -
