On my way to work I probably pass about 6 ipod billboards, 30 buses with ipods plastered all over the side of them, not to mention all the random 10x15 foot ads on the side of buildings.

That being said, they are definitely expensive, regardless of the silly comparisons you see every now and then that a Mac is a good value when compared to some expensive PC. Macs MAY be comparable to some overpriced PCs when you ignore sale prices and heavy discounting that is almost always available, but the fact is that you can get a decent Windows PC or even a Core 2 Duo laptop for under $500 with relative ease that is comparable to a Mac at twice the price.
So yes, you pay more for a Mac, but many people are willing to pay for it. I personally love when people buy Macs, for the simple reason that I don't have to support them as I do for everyone else that I know.
