- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20As long as the software is good, I could care less about age/sex/orientation/height/color.
- RTCA, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I misread it as a new Austin Powers movie. Damn!
- smhill, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Buried as lame.
The "interview" only had one question about Disco, with a weak answer. And what kind of interview has the interviewer asking for free stuff?
The product is cute, but there are too many free ones that are just as good if not better. - Glenn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Sorry you feel that way Neil, but you are wrong about the statement of me filtering negativity from my blog, I'm a strong believer in leaving comments as is, and only spam comments get tossed.
Give it a try, leave a comment saying what you like - it will remain live for as long as I'm blogging.
Cheers,
Glenn - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+13ugh. enough is enough.
disco is all hype and nothing to show for it except a bunch of coasters.
appzapper isn't worth the price just to get a couple extra k of prefs and cache files deleted.
buried as lame. - mikev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@Ireland: I'm Greek :O
- indraneel24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hey xsuite, can you say stalker?
- indraneel24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hey *****,
you blog better. you program better.
you say the apps are all style and no substance. you guys are all talk.
i commend these people for doing things that teens normally don't do. - Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2"As long as the software is good, I could care less about age/sex/orientation/height/color."
Where are the grammer police when someone (an American) says that "I could care less" comment? Well if you could then why don't you?
/The only thing I don't like about disco App. is you can't do what you can with Popcorn, as in it doesn't squeeze a VIDEO_TS to fit on a DVD. It simply says it doesn't fit. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Absolutely correct. These Mac Apper guys might be fans but they are in no way qualified journalists. All of their interviews so far have been junk with no real questions or answers.
I am absolutely sick of these guys all blowing each other's trumpets. I'm talking about this alliance between Austin Sarner, that John guy with the red hair, Phill Ryu, Paul Stamwhatever, Glenn Wolsey, Jack Sauer and the rest of the Mac Apper team which includes the SUBMITTER OF THIS POST.
The sad thing is that some of these guys could actually create something worthwhile if they spent less time designing stupid interfaces and more on actual software development.
I will bury each and every submission by koreagonpark as SPAM because he is involved with the project. It should be up to the users to digg the content, not the writers!
I only wonder why the only comments that appear on their site are totally positive? I've already noticed that Mr Wolsey filters negativity from his blog, so I guess the same thing is going on here. I've added a comment, number 46. Let's see if I win the contest. - snakeyesboy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Finding and deleting a couple of pref files and app support files takes a few seconds up to a few minutes. But finding that one completely obscure supporting file (often buried in the system library) that is causing your app to bomb can take hours and lots of research - or you can just run AppZapper. It might not be a good tool for the regular user but as a consultant I see hundreds of different desktops a month and this saves me a lot of time.
- bedouin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1From day one I never understood why this app got any attention beyond its initial release date.
A CD burning app. Great. We have those -- a lot of them. This one has cool animations during the process -- wow.
Burying this story as lame because I'm tired of hearing about this app. - strangerzero, on 10/12/2007, -9/+7Disco still sucks
- johnpowell, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3I have nothing to say about the app. But, god damn that was a stupid interview.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I agree completely. These guys have warped the Mac shareware market. People think that because an app is flashy that it's good. Austin's apps are *****. They harness only the most extreme basics of the available Apple frameworks and put some gooey graphics on the front of it. Then have your web design buddy build you a beautiful page and you are golden. With these garbage apps, it's no longer about quality programs, it's about who's friend is the best graphics designer.
The problem is it works. You can build an app that's 10x better, 10x easier to use, but if it isn't "pretty" then it's deemed as garbage. Austin even acknowledges this in the interview, when he says that as long as the flashiness keeps selling apps, they will use it. This whole scene, combined with the fact I don't have a close friend to do amazing graphics for free, is why I quit building Mac shareware. - garyinthehouse, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Liquid CD gets the job done. Quick, Fast, and best of all, Free.
Garyinthehouse - therearenorules, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2I actually really like AppZapper, but you're right, it's not worth paying for... and I still don't think Disco is anywhere near as good as Toast.
- xsuite, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4And another one from 2 months ago: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/78/228871908_42e8ce030a.jpg?v=0

I guess waste of time + crap + getting crap for *Free!* = digg worthy? - xsuite, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4Has anyone seen pictures of this guy? He honestly looks like he's 13 years old.
EDIT: Here is a pic of him from MDA: http://mydreamapp.com/img/staff/austinsarner.png - opensourcemaven, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2question: why does disco suck so hard?
answer: dee dee dee (mencia) - WiZZLa, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Season 8, Episode 11 - Production code: 4F08 - Episode #: 164 - "The Twisted World of Marge Simpson"
Disco Stu: "Did you know that disco record sales were up 400% for the year ending 1976? If these trends continues... AAY!"
