- dlprager, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I grabbed this iPod nano from the Apple store in SF and am happy to report that it indeed still works after putting it back together ... which is good because we're thinking about selling it (albeit w/ a voided warranty heh)
- SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0um, is subsystm just mean even shorter episodes? systm is already short. but cool, checkin it now.
- SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nevermind that comment, i forgot how long the last systm episode was. thanks for the link
- PacoBell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So, umm, Kevin...did your Nano work after you put it back together? You kind of tapdanced out of that at the end ;)
- Zerocool82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's cool there doing subSystm. But why is it we hear no news of anything with Rev3. Everytime an ep. goes out. We don't hear of anything before hand. I want to know news about Rev3. Sorry Kevin but can you tell us something? Any type of news?
- aardwolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, when Kevin puts all 3 side by side you really get a feel of how small the nano is. Great job Kevin. I hope to see many more SubSystm's in the future.

Hak5.org - bonedog73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just watched it...
Now I want to know if that nano still works ? lol
does it.. - ebenthurston, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i like how kevin is whispering to the ipod as he breaks it apart. niiiice and slooow. so creepy and funny.
- siouxmoux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is Kevin new Gadget shows, great,
- Twelve-60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*downloading and seeding*
:D - Carbito, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I am the winner: http://digg.com/links/SubSystm_-_Cracking_open_the_iPod_Nano ;)
- diargasm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yea only 7 minutes, still nice to see a new show though.
- matx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I would buy a Ipod Nano for its looks, but personally don't have big enough storage space. When they start coming out with bigger memory I probably consider buying it.
The one problem I see, is why have a headphone jack at the bottom, probably only place they could put it, but I don't think it fit too well in pocket, you have to place it upside down to be comfortable. - avshockey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0liked the short "gadget" show.
- mindsinker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0meh, i like my iPod... -digg
- TechnoPops, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like where Kevin starts opening the nano and all of a sudden starts talking real quietly, like he's channeling Bob Ross or something. "We're just going to open the nano with this putty knife here... just sliiiiide it in, being very careful... there we go, there it comes." :P
- cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so was that why kevin was not on twit
- ajcomet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice ep, It would have been cool if it was alittle more indept tho.
- Nick_Circosta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bring on the Weekly SubSystem :) Bring on ROKR E1 :)
- Snuffkin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Gee, I'd prefer pictures.
- tibe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like the release schedule on this one, no pre-hype all content all the time :D
- theusualfate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0did it work or not lol?
- SomeoneLikeYou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice Tech TV jacket Kev
- ~INVASION~, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0awesome, i cant wait to see it, im downloading it on bit right now :)
- sc123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Being not askeered of the wrath of Kevin, I must point out that using magnetized tools with electronic components of any type is just wrong. Besides that issue I found the video to be quite interesting!
- cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the distribution through bit torrent worked well because a small number got the file before it became big news and there were enough seeds to keep up the speed.
cool
Tech TV lives on - BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm getting 140kbps. wooo.
- calking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0can't wait to check it out. the durability of a portable product is very important when a consumer is considering a purchase
- Lindsay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome video! I stopped into an Apple store yesterday to check out the Nano. I am very impressed.
Looking forward to the next Systm video. - socket, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Looks like Slashdot is running the Arstechnica story and not Systm (not even a mention of it). Guess the Slashdot editors have some taste after all.
- geeky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you thought that was cool, you probably enjoy this... "What does it take to destroy an iPod nano, and what's inside this tiny package? We wanted to answer both questions and strangely enough answering the first allowed us to answer the second" check it out here...http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/nano.ars/3
- jgee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0HOLY *****, thanks for seeding, downloaded in under 2 minutes
- krazedkaoz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Downloading it now. Still waiting on a normal Systm.
- anti-net, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks good, good for me too as i'm thinking about getting a Ipod Nano to replace my Zen Micro which headphone jack has actally come lose from the main circuit board, I know now why apple Ipods cost more, Build Quality, the Zen is't that strong and just sorta.....sucks
- valan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Call it systm nano
- TGT3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Kevin i was wondering if it is at easy to remove and replace the ipod mini batteries, seeing as you said that you had opened it, if you or anyone else knows PLEASE let me know.
thanks a lot man - Eamon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been on the fence for awhile in regards to this whole iPod craze, but now I've gotta say I'm convinced. There's finally a small, inexpensive player with enough storage and pretty much the same options as the other iPods.
Definitely going to pick up one of these. - kingofallchili, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You crazy!
Great job! - dig.it, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0during the opening: $weating ^__^'
but you have gained a lot of viewers!
rgrds/ - frontbrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They should try to return it.
- Orguss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice vid.
I hope you got it working again. It looked a small piece of ribbon cable came off there after the nano was fully cracked open. Hmmm... - ndm007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0anybody got a link to the TWiT episode at the Apple Store. Non bittorrent. I want web download. maybe in H.264 :)
- Doomhouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i was seriously cryin when i watched u crack open that nano... it was terrible :| hahah... i hope it works still though
- abeerge30, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now we know why they put up this lame Mini-Episode, by mini I mean this small episode not the Ipod. Its so you don't feel too bad for making you wait another week or pay a subscription to download it straight away.
I think I'll just watch the Jason Scott Interview on Packet Sniffers instead. - a911driver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like how Kevin gives specific recommendations on which screwdriver to use. Two points - why would I open my own nano when he is doing to for me on his and why would I open a nano to begin with? I watch this stuff and listen to TWIT. Kevin needs to go back to his more innocent tone from this authoritative tone he has taken on. It is more becoming of him and should help move his career along. Also, there has to be a better way of cross-promoting all of the stuff he is on. It just feels like he is showing up to be seen or heard.
- bobetr, on 11/27/2008, -0/+0i downloaded divx h.264 and wmv and seeded them all until my % was to 100%
i own you all -
