- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -21/+492Hi.
I'm a Sony BMG paying-customer....
And I'm a ROOTKIT! - greatblackowl, on 10/12/2007, -9/+219I love that they call it the non-pc pc: The non-personal computer? And what's with the pc dude farting? Are they trying to appeal to 9 year olds?
- TomP, on 10/12/2007, -12/+214Digg vs Sony = Digg wins... site is down... wow...

Sony lost so much on bad PS3 sales, they are having a hard time paying for bandwidth. :'( - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -23/+122Sony are just bastards. They will be getting no more of my money.
And by the way, I don't care what people say but a Mac IS a PC too, seeing as it is an x86. - omniatlas, on 10/12/2007, -12/+107How original. Only Sony could pull this off.
- cleverboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+85I'm a PC... I'm a Mac... and I'm a DIRTY WHORE!
- tvgm2, on 10/12/2007, -13/+94And the motion sensing Wiimote. Maybe next they'll imitate Enron?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+83this is so strange. it's not like sony to steal other people's ideas.
- GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -11/+77Any computer that falls into the price range of the general public is a PC. Since when has the term referred solely to x86.
- 2d.Chance, on 10/12/2007, -9/+67Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Sony appears impressed with both the MacBook and the Switch Ads.
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -6/+63Looks like the way to get back at Sony for the rootkit is just to keep digging articles on their servers.
- suprememilo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+60@wootery
wtf is "OSX-chip" - 47knight, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43uploaded to imageshack:

- greatblackowl, on 10/12/2007, -5/+41Except the VAIO girl is a ditzy neo-punkish weirdo, and the pc guy farts.... I still don't get that
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+40Fart Fart Fart
Hey Hey HEY!!!!
Waha hwhaa WAhaha Wahaa
Which one is dumber should be the name of the game - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34Re-posting 47knight's mirror:
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/9844/imavaiobj4.swf - lostspyder, on 10/12/2007, -7/+38Im afraid a PC != Windows
From dictionary.com
"a microcomputer designed for individual use, as by a person in an office or at home or school, for such applications as word processing, data management, financial analysis, or computer games. Abbreviation: PC"
Seems like a mac would fit under PC also... - terminality, on 10/12/2007, -7/+38Hold on, did we just give sony the digg effect?
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -11/+40"Digg vs Sony = Digg wins... site is down... wow..."
..notice the .au on the domain - it's sony australia (it would be fun to see digg take sony US down) - darkixion, on 10/12/2007, -11/+38An Apple Mac is also a PC anyway.
And it's just another corporate marketing scam to fool people into thinking that what they're offering is something new and different. It's the same old thing as always. - GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+31You mean Apple didn't call them PCs despite the fact they fitted the definition. The idea of a PC was made solely in response to earlier beliefs that no single person could ever afford a computer or even want one. It has nothing to do with basic technology and much more to do with interface design and price range. Windows runs on (what was originally called) an IBM compatible PC, the key point here being that its a PC that happens to be IBM compatible.
You could easily do a PPC or ARM compatible PC if that is what you wanted. Hell they are even making Ultras that would fit in to the high end PC niche. - rick2k, on 10/12/2007, -6/+33"Sony Australia apologises for this interruption in service."
sony............... apologises? - jman8888, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29Ok that is just bad. Sony will lose even more customers(Oh and thats plain freaky)
- lowbot, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28Since the begining of the vaio brand theyve been pushing it as the non-pc or better yet the mac of pcs. We have a bunch of work and i am endlessly amused by the never used 'memory stick' slot in a laptop without even a SD card reader. How much longer until Sony goes bankrupt? Their culture, products, and methods are sub-par.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+29Apple pretty much invented the PC with the Apple II anyway...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_II - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23these are actually imitation of 'get a mac' ads, 'switch' was the term used for the ads that only had one person describing their frustration with pc
(the more you know) - ptcfast2, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24I use the digg. I also use the Google. =P
- djjuice, on 10/12/2007, -5/+24funny right above it says "Sony recommends Windows XP Professional"
so how is it not a PC? - nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -6/+24PC == Personal Computer
Macs are PC's too. Apple just turned PC into a bad word and tried to take their computers away from it. Why else would their long-time processor have been called the PowerPC processor? Actually the 'PC' technically stands for "Performance Computing" but we all know what it really means. More importantly, Macs are computers for persons, so they are also personal computers. - stuartjmoore, on 10/12/2007, -9/+25just cuz 10,000 people think it's right doesn't make it so.
...seems like a good place for a Bush or God joke... - a7bat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17It's hosted by the the horrid Telstra.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17PC is a generic term meaning personal computer.
The IBM PC was just that: IBM personal computer.
Yes, it is also a model name, but it doesn't change the fact that PC is a generic term that encompasses a range of computers. - alwaysmc2, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19oh... just saw it.
That was stupid! - GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19Precisely if 99,999,999,999,999 people said my name wasn't GMorgan they'd all be wrong.
Popularity != Correctness and never has. - f8tbrautmehere, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20 PC = Funny Fat Guy Farting
Mac = Cool Kid
Sony = Stupd Giggling Slut
I think they've identified themselves and the others appropriately... - noseeme, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18It's not sony.com
- GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16To be fair they both have exploding batteries.
- lukas88, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Awesome!
The PC guy farts! Just like in real life!
-A PC guy - arkmtech, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17The Viao should say something more like...
VIAO: "Hi - I'm the bastard son of a lazy, mismanaged mega-conglomerate who beats his wife, chases away my friends, never shows up for anything on time or keeps promises, and drinks a lot. Sometimes I cut myself to eclipse the pain of my existence..." - sonicspike, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16"Diggeridoo"
- Zatechz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13@Jacnet
If I wanted to digg that I'd do it without your ad.
Anywho, I used to be an in-house web developer and the farting probably is the result of a buncha guys in the office that had too much coffee/caffeine. We'd get stupid ideas and create them for fun, guess this one got out. - brianjameskirk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Not to mention the blatant sexual overtone... "you can grab this VAIO's ass with a creepy looking pinching-cursor!"
- ryware, on 07/04/2008, -2/+13Sony's servers are taking a beating:
"Sony Australia apologises for this interruption in service.
Due to extremely high website traffic, our site is temporarily unavailable.
We apologise for any inconvenience, please check back shortly.
This page will automatically try to refresh the site in 60 seconds." - Spanca, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15^ What sort of logic is that??
If I made a console in my garage tomorrow, then sold all 3 units, would my 'sold out' status mean that sales were good? - CoachZed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Cool, apparently Sony supports copyright infringement. Everybody help themselves to Sony BMG records!
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15Its funny because Viao's and Mac laptops are both built by Quanta... so the real difference hardware wise... isn't really there.
- IMustBeEmo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I love how I'm being dugg down for telling the truth. All duggmirror saved was the images and the error message, not the ad.
CTFL - Wootery, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Yup. Nothing 'personal' though, I'm sure.
