http://digg.com/apple/MacGyver_Tries_iPod_Speakers - habbofresh, on 11/17/2008, -0/+23because the girls are using the other one?
- AndrewMoyer, on 11/18/2008, -1/+17If those paper cups cost a minimum of $20 and can only hold one brand of liquid, then you know it's made for the iPod/iPhone...
- TheR3dMenace, on 11/18/2008, -5/+204 cups, 1 iPod
- svensksvamp, on 11/17/2008, -0/+11yep. it's all about sharing, and they know it.
- kingbinji, on 11/18/2008, -0/+10is dmitry zagga 7 years old?
- vulapine, on 11/18/2008, -0/+10He invented the megaphone.
Good for him... Good for him... - TsuruchiBrian, on 11/18/2008, -1/+11How to make your own microwave out of a cardboard box:
1) Get any old cardboard box about the size of a mcirowave.
2) cut a tiny hole in the bottom of the box.
3) put a microwave in the box and pull the electrical cord through the hole in the box.
4) plug the cord into the wall.
5) You now have a microwave made out of a cardboard box.
6) Cook some popcorn, while admiring the greatness of human ingenuity.
*Fun tip: You can use the box that your microwave came in to do this. It will almost certainly be the right size. - nakile, on 11/18/2008, -2/+8Paper speakers? Reminds me of Bose...
- ultraseamus, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5I entered this article because I assume that he somehow jammed the tooth pick into the I-pod which was then able to relay the vibrations to the cups, and actually let you hear the music without headphones. I would have been extremely impressed with that, and would have started carrying around toothpicks and cups with me everywhere. The reality of this article is extremely lame. Oh, and it also sucks that this is a dupe, but I did not see the first one, and commenting in a 4 day old Digg submission is almost as lame as this article.
- Beardcore, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4These would have the perfect frequency range for listening to the great music of Yoko Ono!!
- veriix, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4Do you ever get tired of criticizing people?
- McNandatron, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4Genious. I'm suprised we've got this technologically advanced.
I mean this guy's just discovered that we can amplify sound. God knows what else you'll be able to do. Next they'll be telling us that different kinds of material provide different electrical resistances. - slapded, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3the poster has submitted 100 stories and 30 have made the front page. wtf?
- Eaststand, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3this is by far the worst story I have ever seen on digg
- SeVIIen, on 11/18/2008, -2/+5I was out of paper ones, so I used athletic cups instead. I hope this one doesn't come back to kick me in the balls.
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3Just what I always wanted. Zeppelin, 11,000-22,000 hz only. The rest is just noise anyhow.
- MrGypsie, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3Breeeee Breeeee!!
I'm attempting this at my next diner run! - groverblue, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3***** lame. more like speakers in a cup. buried.
- asskicker32, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2That was TERRIBLE
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -1/+3Get this dupe off the front page. Go forth and bury.
- musntSurfatWork, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2I remember discovering that LP records can be heard from the tip of a plant leaf.
- SeVIIen, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2Whose LP was it? The Album Leaf?
- boardthis, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2looks like a challenging game of flipcup. i'm in!
- aznpwnzor, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2win
but who wouldn't pay $99 instead? - protodon, on 11/18/2008, -1/+3Isn't that what their headphones are already made of?
- ATLien74, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2Well... what do you think speakers are usually made of?
- DeFex, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2Bose has been doing this for ages.
Oops! other have already pointed this out. - melonhedd, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2So you still need the real speakers that are inside the earbuds? Worthless.
- Enlightenment, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2
***** lame...like you needed an iPod to figure out this old trick from the dark ages. Half the titles on Digg and Reddit should be newbie rediscovers "XYZ". - FeynmanPoint, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2Dugg for its terribleness!
- reddikilowatt, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2He's only about 100 years too late:
http://www.radiolaguy.com/Showcase/mag1.htm - stewlava, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2thought this looked familiar...
- Pegasus_Strain, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2This is perfect for my Cheap iPhone Stand!!
http://haws.net/wordpress/2008/07/11/cheap-iphone- ... - inactive, on 11/18/2008, -1/+2Meh, Martha Stewart did this in her show las year.
- megamod, on 11/18/2008, -1/+2ewwwwww.....
and after ALL that information, I'm not even sure why you legitimately would only need ONE cup. I would think at least two - shakabrah, on 11/18/2008, -2/+3i think i would have gone with "1 iPod, 4 cups."
- jakobmakob, on 11/18/2008, -1/+2From the comments on the article this is a repeat of:
Dugg for no girls and four cups.
Wait... I got that backwards
Nice try. - SexyFarts, on 11/18/2008, -2/+3Apple could sell those for $39.99 and people would buy them
Bose sells paper speakers for a hundred bucks already...nothing new - darkcompass, on 11/18/2008, -1/+2I wonder if you could amplify more by adding more cups?
- brightdrrkness, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1this was worth clicking just to read the comments. Dugg!
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1I made a robot out of paper cups, it also is not functional like these speakers. Lets write an article about it and digg it a lot.
- rmfootball69, on 11/18/2008, -2/+3I thought of that years ago. its not exactly hard to realize that it would magnify the sound
- message144, on 11/18/2008, -1/+2Lame. He did not actually build speakers in any sense of the word. He merely placed an ipod headphone into a cup.
- ImamNathan, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1Blasphemy!
And back to the paper cup genius, next thing you know he'll turn them into headphones with a rubber band. - ngomong, on 11/18/2008, -1/+2Implemented. Not invented.
- ToddSchishler, on 11/18/2008, -3/+3This is particularly funny because the guy one cubicle over from me did this yesterday with styrofoam cups.
And they actually work too. - svensksvamp, on 11/17/2008, -6/+6That's perfect for the kitchen table but you only really need one cup.
- nshop2, on 02/03/2009, -0/+0Nice review... I liked it.
Thanks
