- Oddish, on 09/02/2008, -4/+16Dear Forbes.com, please die.
/ World - Mootabolife, on 09/02/2008, -1/+9Would you care to buy my application to prove it? Only $1000. I'll even toss in a little red jewel.
- boardthis, on 09/02/2008, -1/+7must be nice to be brian caulfield and emerge from a cave almost 2 months after the app store was launched and still get paid to write an article on it. thankyou for your knowledge and review brian. i don't know what i would do without you.
- sghost, on 09/02/2008, -1/+6The title drew me in but then I saw it was from Forbes. I decided to read the article to give it a chance. I should have gone with my 1st instinct. Nothing to learn here. Everyone already knows this.
- username7410, on 09/02/2008, -0/+5Oooooooooo! Surprised this wasn't on 20 separate pages - slideshow style!
- qaziop, on 09/03/2008, -1/+5And if you double tap the shift button, IT TURNS ON CAPS LOCK
- FunkadelicFresh, on 09/02/2008, -3/+7How to kill Forbes.com...
Buried. - wavesmachine, on 09/02/2008, -1/+5I like the idea of hints for application features, but I think they should be documented as a "features" or "hints" section on the app's website / App store documentation. Having a pop-up in the app (on the phone) for every feature would thoroughly piss me off.
- topgigmedia, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3what a useless article. - and fittingly, a useless comment from me.
- soulweaponry, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2Go to my youtube: soulweaponry. Me using the iphone
Then again, you didn't figure to read the word "charge" correctly, so how could i expect you to go to youtube and type correctly? - abyssknight, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2price it over 9000!!
fixed. - shutaro, on 09/02/2008, -4/+6Wow, I can't believe how rich I am now.
- theOster, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2i dont know - the ADC entries look pretty sweet too:
http://code.google.com/android/adc_gallery/ - MacHarborGuy, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2Apparently Apple doesn't care about the NDA.
see WordPress - inactive, on 09/02/2008, -0/+2He didn't say change.
- saturdaysaint, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2"The solution, according to Thornton, is to study the applications Apple has crafted for the phone and to copy their structure."
BRILLIANT. Wait, maybe the solution to being successful at ANYTHING is copying someone who's successful. *slams head into wall* - iPanda, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2I'd rather see theonion.com when i look at the URL
- bigbadboston, on 09/02/2008, -2/+3Read the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines for all that good insightful Apple cognition craziness
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/418559/iPhones-Human-I ... - diggNoah, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1Buried for useless content...the articles bottom line is look at how Apple makes an iPhone application and copy their approach. I need a Forbes article to state an obvious point?! Quit wasting my time Rose by Digging such low quality stuff.
- donna1234, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch have plenty of it

http://www.webthe.info/ - flashback99, on 09/02/2008, -4/+5Come on, we all know windows mobile devices suck big time.
- ginswizzle, on 09/05/2008, -0/+1also, I agree with the guy from Perceptive that wow! cool functionality (somewhat) diminishes the negative impact of poor usability in the short term but not over the long term. which, taken a step further you could use to counter the author's assertion that poorly designed apps will diminish the iPhone's overall usability.... no they won't, because people will only use well designed apps over the long term.
- kawaiirobo, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1how to build a great iPhone app? Make something that is useful. Do we really need buzz words like 'Wow factor' to explain this?
- worldchanger, on 09/02/2008, -2/+3maybe, but the idea of downloadable applications certainly isn't as exclusive and new as Steve "Saviour-of-the-World" Jobs would lead you to believe.
- Pinasco, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1Jitterbug revolution. I love that instead of keystrokes I can just call my always happy customer service representative to add contacts to my phone. War Jitterbug.
http://www.jitterbug.com/ - flashback99, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Agreed, but there are some damn fantastic apps out there nevertheless, which could never run well or remotely work on windows mobile devices
- Karmavs, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1@ddrirc: Yes. I sold my iPod touch, so I’m not totally sure where it is, but I think it was in the international settings
- boardthis, on 09/03/2008, -1/+2maybe if u weren't on youporn multiple times during the day, then you wouldnt have that pesky battery life problem.
- sp1r1t, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1OVER 9000?!?!?!?!
- srg13, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1@ddrirc - Yes, actually. On the Touch it's Settings -> General -> Keyboard and then check 'Enable Caps Lock'
- ginswizzle, on 09/05/2008, -0/+1no real advice here, not that I was expecting much from Forbes.
- FireFish45, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1I thought this was coding tips or something. This was honestly a complete waste of 7 minutes. Sorry.
- ddrirc, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1My iPhone doesn't do that. Is there some setting somewhere for it? (tested in text and mail)
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -1/+1You violated the NDA! Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave.

- spudmanster, on 09/03/2008, -2/+1"How To Build A Great iPhone Application?" Pretend you were developing for windows mobile?
- Huevoos, on 09/03/2008, -2/+1***** NDA!!!
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -4/+1You can't change the battery, you never had an iPhone in the first place then.
- Pinasco, on 09/02/2008, -7/+1***** the iPhone. Get a Jitterbug.
- soulweaponry, on 09/02/2008, -8/+2Wow. Another reason besides sms and browser to suck up battery life. Call me when you don't need to charge your battery twice a day and live in constant fear of being without phone if you use too many features
Sold my iphone after novelty wore off. When will it wear off for everyone else? - ohplease, on 09/02/2008, -11/+5"It's 'Wow,' I can't believe a phone can do this now," says Thornton
I guess Thornton has never seen a Windows Mobile device - soulweaponry, on 09/02/2008, -11/+2Holy crap. We are at the pinnacle of high technology now. You don't have to type in .org yourself? Wow. just wow
