- friend18, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Best OS Ever.
- unloud, on 10/12/2007, -3/+83 days late.
- plexxer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Much better than the alternative: an OS designed BY retards.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't even use an Apple computer, however, I do know that there have been major modifications to the OSX base throughout its 6 year reign. Just like linux, OS X has been upgraded with new features, often going unnoticed by the casual user. Where as, with windowsuck, most updates have been security fixes, or features that should have been implemented in the first place.
- kinesis8, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Note to Apple Programmers:
For Mac OS X's 6th Birthday, you should give it a user tweakable mouse driver as well as a updated finder.
Other than those two things, I couldn't be any happier with my Mac - catfarmer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think it should get a makeover for its birthday (10.5)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4If an operating system that is capable of using the K.I.S.S. idea for the user interface, while still including a fully functional bsd-type base, and the terminal is fully functional and available... Then OS X is not designed for retards. You my friend simply do not know how to use a computer to its full potential.
- robbh66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2When I first got my MBP I spent half the day in OS X and half the day in windows. At first, some things seemed weird and strange to me in OS X, but then I just realized they're different, and much of it more intelligently done. I'll admit windows still does a few things better than OS X- but for some reason, I ONLY fire up boot camp or parallels if I absolutely have to these days.
- marcosagostos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, but there have been numerous updates. It is still OSX, but now it is up to 10.4, soon to be 10.5....hoping :)
- threepio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Fonts are intellectual property. Some are copyright free, some are not. When OS X shipped, it shipped with a great deal more in the way of usable fonts than what you could find included with competing operating systems.
People overlook typefaces as a)an art form and b) a business tool - including high quality fonts in the OS saves your customers money. - robbh66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Full NTFS support (read AND write) for us converts would be really nice. There really needs to be a better way to share data quickly between computers using external drives other than FAT32 :/
- kirk06, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4*Sigh*
We've been over this before... - loker269, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5maybe Apple should release one of their $120 service pac....err new and improved OS revisions....
- Isotope, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I like how they bashed windows when they said, you can upgrade in about every 5-6 years, like it was a horrible thing. Yet OS:X has been around for 6 years now?
- kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1$1,000 worth of fonts . . . WTF does that even mean!
- joltjake, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2she's starting to show her age.
- TekJansen64, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4If you've been keeping track of the "birthday" of an OS, let alone one designed for retards, you really need to find something better to do with your time.
