Oh, you won't be dugg down for using Windows.
You'll be digg down for making a useless, pointless post.
What was the point you were trying to make anyway? Are you trying to suggest there's something wrong with posting Mac specific links, or are you just a moron whose only attention comes from being dugg down? - Otto, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12It's quite possible to duplicate many of these with Windows iTunes. You can write scripts for it in Javascript as well as VBScript. Okay, so you don't get the pretty interface, but still..
Some example scripts I've written can be found here:

Download growl from the downloads section on that site and when you mount the disk image, growltunes is in the extras folder. - dosle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I've always wanted Apple to include a feature to see who is connected to your shared library. Instead i just do netstat -b -n and looks at the connections to itunes.exe. sigh
- Mootabolife, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Real men use the console.
- pkulak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think the Rate Me one looks nice. I'm pretty anal about getting my tracks rated. I've been at it for a long time now and maybe that will get me along a bit quicker.
- Teridon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You can use any language that can hook up to Windows COM. e.g. some scripts I wrote in perl (compiled to .exe for noobs without perl) and VBS here:
http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/itunesscripts/ - Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In Windows, it's easy. Right click the track, select "Get info" and then select "Remember playback position". Done and done.
If you're actually ripping Audiobook CD's, then I recommend ripping them to single disc WAV files, using another program to combine them all, and then using iTunes to re-encode the final combined WAV to AAC at a low bitrate (and with the voice option turned on). Then rename the resulting M4A file to M4B. This will make it act exactly like an audiobook from iTMS in all respects, except for the DRM. - daborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty cool except it breaks parentheses and apostrophes.
- ROFLance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The one applescript I use the most in iTunes is "iTunes Capitalizer".. it lets you edit your id tags on your mp3s to be all lowercase, UPPERCASE or Every Word Capitalized
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15454 - brendanc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Growl notifications need to be a default setting... maybe not turned on by default... but I'd like to have a check box or something.
- daborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've stopped rating tracks. Recently I've changed music players, computers and operating systems so often it just feels pointless to keep doing it. Instead I just rely on play count and skip count to tell me which tracks I like.
When there's a universally accepted format for storing ratings in mp3s that is shared between all the music players I use, I'll start rating again. - PabloMac, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"Sorry Windows users, this is one of those times there isn't really much of a Windows counterpart."
- DPowers08, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You can also set up Growl notifications for iTunes via Quicksilver.
- daborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Same here, none of the 13 he lists seemed especially interesting to me.
What WOULD be incredibly useful however is a hotkey that allows me to search in the library regardless of where I am in iTunes. - danielwsmithee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Somebody created some scripts to create Audiobooks out of ripped audiobook cds. Really nice for people that like to listen to books on long road trips.

- bergur1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Anyone know if there is a dead track remover for windows?
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://ottodestruct.com/itunes/RemoveDeadTracks.txt
Rename it to RemoveDeadTracks.js and run it from Windows Explorer. (double click, just like you'd run anything else) - PabloMac, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2wrong post - bury.
- nandabanaotakun, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Since when are applescripts hacks?
- beegary, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Nice I wish these were all available for windows
- thelastemperor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1i don't find most of these useful, but its still cool.
- god4twenty, on 10/12/2007, -26/+6I was ready to digg until I saw it is mac only.
Ok, digg me down for using windows now.
