- the_snitch, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34$5 paypal sent their way. Support them guys, if we all donate just a small amount, it adds up. I know this hole will be patched, and then the Devteam will have to work harder on finding the next exploit. Hopefully this keeps them going.
- Jangles, on 10/10/2007, -9/+38Awesome, I can't wait until my touch has all the iPhone's applications (like mail) and more!
- YamiJim, on 10/10/2007, -1/+26i may actually buy a touch if this pans out.....
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21reading root = access to all the executable files to look for holes to get write access.
- adam, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11These kids are going to mod you down.
- lickmygiggle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I'm very happy with mine. Awesome little device.
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11I'm glad it's not biased towards Halo 3 -- wait, it is... odd, it seems to be biased towards popular articles. Someone fix that stat.
- KibibyteBrain, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Do not question the digg.com FP algorithm, young grasshopper. Learn to accept it, and then you will be enlightened.
- forgiste, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6so if you hate digg so much, GTFO!
- lickmygiggle, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10buried for being an idiot.
- danasghar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I kinda feel bad for all the people who bash the itouch strictly because they hate Apple. They have no idea how slick this little toy really is. I've never understood why people hate on products that they've never even used. Its kinda like when ps3 and xbox fanboys go at each other. Kinda pointless and u miss out on some really cool technology. Hey fanboys I've got news for you, stop fighting for for ur toys as if someone was doggin a family member. Rtards.

- Quickdood, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Another $5 from me, keep up the good work!
- ricodued, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6How is Skype going to work? Where's the mic?
- lickmygiggle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5...linux?
- modusop, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It's the holy grail of gadgets for me as is - stuff like this is an added bonus!
- danasghar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Yah he really ***** up pretty bad, I'm counting one spelling mistake. Oh and by the way this comment is being typed by another ipod touch user.
- JuliusErving, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4How about linking to the actual site? http://toc2rta.com/
- gr3yn3t, on 10/10/2007, -7/+11or..
chown-ership? - ecappabianca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4It is great, and it cost 300/400 dollars then your done. The iPhone cost a monthly service fee of 60+, which is like blah to me.
It is so much smaller, I can barely remember it being in my pocket. - ph0xer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Hells yes. I just picked up mine for $286 tax exempt from Sams Club. I'm freaking loving it. Really... extra apps would just be a bonus. I love checking my email on the go. Leaving home and not missing any cool Digg news like this one. That thing is a sexy beast!

MacOSX on wikipedia: "Mac OS X is based on the Mach kernel and is derived from the Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD) ...".
iPhone software (wiki too): "...Apple has confirmed that an optimized version of the Mac OS X operating system (without unnecessary components)..."
Here are the dots, connect them, then commit suicide. - Hamburglar87, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I can type super fast on mine, the main thing is to just trust the auto correction of your typing.
- geminitojanus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It's really sad you're getting buried by the kids who don't understand the joke...
- sonicrun222, on 10/10/2007, -6/+9im writing tjis comment on my new ipod touch. I love it but it would be nice if i could add app that i want and not just what apple wants. I really want some games since it doesnt come with any. :( let's cross our fingers and hope that this works for the long term or at least doesnt brick this thing.
- danasghar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2just picked mine up after returning my 80gb classic. Absolutely love this machine. It keeps amazing me everytime i pick it up.
- danasghar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i agree. Today is my first day typing on it and i agree that u have to trust the spelling correction. However ive noticed the only place it doesnt correct for me is when i make a digg comment. Anyone else have this problem?
- nape, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i love mine. i think the touch has better connectivity to wifi than the iphone. if youre not in need of a data plan (and paying 60 bucks a month for one) i think the touch is the way to go. plus it has twice the storage.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If zybch didn't have Apple to hate, his life would be meaningless...oh wait
- canthraxp, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Who said it was? The idea of the image was to illustrate the difference between bsd and linux as two separated branches.
- lickmygiggle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3unix !=linux *****.
- REBELinBLUE, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Here is an idea, go into your settings are REMOVE the Apple section, job done, no more Apple stories.
Jesus ***** christ is it really that difficult to understand. - yabos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They're using a TIFF exploit, so expect it to be fixed in the next update.
- Angostura, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I have one and it is absolutely lovely. The idea of having a read-write calendar makes me happy. The ability to have other apps would be splendid.
- AceTracer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Uh...the iPod touch wasn't even out 2 months ago.
- Graemebru, on 10/10/2007, -11/+11I'd rather not have complete "pwnership"
although ownership might be nice. - mercurysquad, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1USB Headset?
- OutThisLife, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1They do it for fun though.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1"It is so much smaller, I can barely remember it being in my pocket."
...Said she. - KibibyteBrain, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Like that makes apple different than any other tech company? Even the FOSS players like Google, IBM, Novell, Redhat, Cannonical are in it for the Benjamins. The guys who aren't in it so much for the money like Torvalds still have some pretty sweet jobs the last time I checked, and aren't quite starving on the street. And the extremists against profit like Stallman also have nice jobs and live a comfortable life. And of course Microsoft is at least as motivated as a corporate power as APPL is. By your reasoning, we should ignore all tech news as 99% of it is directly motivated by financial motives.
Plus, don't generalize. I don't really like Apple these days very much, and thats coming from a user of their OS. They have been making many poor choices, have hypocritical ideologies, and seem to be ignoring customer needs. But they have also been really innovative in their new products, and also make some pretty decent products too. To try to purposely avoid posting Apple news based on frequency would be like an international newspaper limiting stories about the US to be the same in number as other countries, especially because the US is just a money hungry superpower who few like in the world, right? Some of the apple stories that reach the FP are lame, but that can be said about any category of story on digg. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3Spoken like a true fanbot!!
- philippec, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I don't understand. Shouldn't we be celebrating once a reliable company provides us with a sleek product over which we can have complete control straight out of the box?
Maybe I'm dumb, I don't see why that would be so hard. Sure, it would be more expensive, but I'd buy it. For now I stay away from restricted smartphones and keep the phone I got for free. - bwanac, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1no ***** bluetooth is a hardware issue... i was saying this is cool and all... but i would rather have someone make me a hack to fit the iphone bluetooth in there... oh wait... apple should have done that instead... and not "gimp" this so much.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1zybch, why do you talk so much about sucking dick? I mean, if you're gay go ahead and say it. I'm sure it would be a liberating experience. In the meantime STFU
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -8/+5Well, thats a lot more interesting than these ***** apple this, apple that, apple the other stories that reach the ***** front page in under 30 diggs!!
- jono10, on 10/10/2007, -4/+0Will you be my friend zybch's, you say what I think.
- Pilot85, on 10/10/2007, -10/+6Anyone have an ipod Touch and is happy with it? I'm just wondering, I was thinking of getting one but it seems they dumbed it down a lot from the iphone and I'm wondering if it's worth it for the same price as an iphone.
- coryjb, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3Oh *****, not the Digg-effect again. Good news nonetheless.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2Yeah, but does it run.... oh yeah. I guess it does.
