- Gardenhead, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Because Google totally releases all their apps with OS X support. Really.
- autoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Maybe Google can teach Apple some .mac lessons too?
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Why are you guys burying him.. it's true. They have had a close relationship for a while now.
They're the sexiest companies of the world at the moment.. - woodcoxcb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5While Google products aren't quite as DANG SEXY & FINE as Apple products, Google does a great job with their designs... They're clean, easy to use, speedy to load, and flat out simple. What's not to love?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The relationship I assume is the one with the google CEO on the apple board
- fungke, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Inevitable really. There's been a very strong relationship between these two companies for a while now.
- zeddie2001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Google Earth - very well designed
Google Homepage - clutter-free and easy to use.
I'd say Apple would just be preaching to the converted! - alexhengen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"really, where?"
Google's CEO is on Apple's board of directors.. i'd say thats a strong relationship.

- funkpucker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2We should just have a Sun, Google, Apple, Disney, Dreamworks (Isn't that right; Jobs?) merger. Or maybe keeping them seperate but connected is better. Finally a formidable challenger for MS? If only they could come down in price. If only there was fiber to the home, we could finally have all telecom and TV and entertainment to the home through one wire. Maybe Google could help with the fiber networks, and Sun could help with the hardware. Maybe we'll get rid of all the telecoms and cable companies in a short while. We'll see what happens.
- metasim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's all about Google's massive distribution and redundancy network... if Apple's movie service takes off they are going to need Google's expertise and infrastructure, including all the "dark fiber" Google owns. Apple can't be beholden to the local broadband providers who are sure to balk when the movie service starts eating up bandwidth. They are taking a lesson from Skype.
- heyitsme23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think he was referring to the google video service. It lacks compared to you tube, although video quality is improving greatly.
- RonaldLewis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2We'll see many announcements between Google and Apple, for sure. I'd even bet Google and Apple will stronghold their way into the living room together, at some point.
- thunderer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In the words of ars technica,
"Larry Ellison, a good friend of Steve Jobs, was on the board for several years, and that more than anything else probably sums up what it means to be on the board: a friend of Steve."
Google's CEO being on the board, and therefore a friend of Steve, I think there's definitely got to be a pretty strong bond between the companies. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i dont see how google could help apple really? google has a search, gmail, and google earth, other than that, i use nothing else they have.
- jlazur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Miglia has something similar. Kind of a DVR that fits neatly under the base of a mac mini. I was thinking of getting one a few weeks back. Glad I didn't. I'll have to wait. IMO, with or without Google, Apple is definitely on a hot streak right now! Go Steve!!!!
- dgritsko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@understudy
to what google product are you referring? - laserob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2If only it read 'TiVo and Apple...' *Sigh
- shiftt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3"Inevitable really. There's been a very strong relationship between these two companies for a while now."
really, where?
ontopic I really hope this goes far. Google working together with Apple can definitely take on and defeat Microsoft - understudy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Maybe Apple can teach Google something about design aesthetics.
