Good to see Google is still giving the iPhone some lovin', even with Android. - chieffan, on 10/27/2008, -2/+38I can see Alaska from here.
- nickels, on 10/27/2008, -0/+23http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/ ...
8.9 megs of googley goodness. NICE! - supermanred, on 10/27/2008, -1/+22No, it's google earth using the iPhone GPS.
- paloooz, on 10/27/2008, -2/+18Google Street View ≠ Google Earth.
2.2 Beta features ≠ 3rd party application
***** idiot. - Ratatosk, on 10/27/2008, -2/+15nobody talked about REPLACING... they can mutually exist in peace
- falser, on 10/27/2008, -0/+12 I just hope I can download all the street data for a particular city and not have to be connected all the time, and use it on the iPod touch.
- megamod, on 10/27/2008, -0/+8if a single app is over 10 MB's you'll have to dl that app on wifi or sync it through your computer.
As far as I know there's no limit for dling apps in general as long as they're smaller than 10 MB.
So technically you can download OVER 9000 x (9.9) MB apps but you can't download ONE 10.1 MB app. - megamod, on 10/27/2008, -0/+7I love it how it's right below the 10 MB limit so that I can dl it anywhere on my iPhone instead of having to wait til I find a wifi spot.
- Andrwmorph, on 10/27/2008, -1/+8Earth is pretty sweet
- jernomer, on 10/27/2008, -0/+6It seems to work surprisingly well, especially for something that is a rather large desktop app.
- ianbirtwistle, on 10/27/2008, -4/+9Although it's very cool from a technical point of view, I can't this replacing google maps on the iphone just yet. It's just too slow to be useful...
- jordn, on 10/27/2008, -0/+5That's what she said
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -0/+5I have installed and toyed with. Pretty cool, but a bit slow.
- wesl56, on 10/27/2008, -0/+5streetview is coming to the maps app on iphone 2.2
http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/10/06/goog ... - coheedcollapse, on 10/27/2008, -2/+6Ahh. Posted in the wrong thread. Instead of making up something extravagant to say, I'm just going to suck it up and admit it.
- tdwtomcat, on 10/27/2008, -0/+4I'm on Edge. Very, very, slow. What can you expect though? Google is awesome but you have to work with what you've got.
- morcheeba, on 10/27/2008, -5/+9Earthscape is going free now, too. It's similar, but has smoother graphics. It also labels the wikipedia articles (and puts icons for the pictures), so you get an idea of what information you're about to get without blindly tapping. Plus, what's been fun for me is that you can take pictures with your iphone & upload them ... they are displayed in real time and people can comment on them.

- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3http://googlesightseeing.com/2006/11/28/top-10-nak ...
- wonkavsn, on 10/27/2008, -1/+4It's very jerky
- shiftless, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3It really drains the battery but I'm impressed :)
- cgruber, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3Spying on your neighbors 3 years in the past, 150 miles up.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3I really love Google Earth, but why the hell can't they toss the ability to pull up streetview in there? I know it can do so much more than Google Maps, but I'd like to have one application to do everything rather than have to go to the website when I want to stroll around random neighborhoods.
- falser, on 10/28/2008, -0/+2That's what Sasquatch said.
- tomlit, on 10/27/2008, -0/+2http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/26/iphone-software ...
- BrendanSheehan, on 10/27/2008, -0/+2The reflection in the top of tall building you're looking at is Russia.
- morcheeba, on 10/27/2008, -0/+2Agreed. Google Earth has better international imagery (if you notice, their demo shots are overseas).
- mimio, on 10/28/2008, -0/+2Earthscape has low-res for Bogota. I tried it, and uninstalled it.
- Jordan117, on 10/27/2008, -0/+2The graphics are better, but the imagery is lower-resolution -- about where Google Earth was when it first debuted. It does have a robust photo geotagging system. And the 3D view works better, IMO.
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -1/+3You really want me to answer that?
- CogitatorX, on 10/27/2008, -2/+4what an idiot.
- AbeX, on 10/27/2008, -0/+2I see what you did there... :D
- rebo2, on 10/27/2008, -0/+1Thank you.
- Nephersir7, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1its because google is a good company that doesnt like proprietary stuff and drm, but it's stuff still runs well with ultra proprietary platforms like OSX or Windows and some mobile platforms
- thallium205, on 10/27/2008, -0/+1Wait theres a limit?
- kiensoy, on 10/27/2008, -1/+2I agree in that it has smoother graphics.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/27/2008, -0/+1I'm on edge as well. It's actually 'far' faster than I would have expected. I wouldn't call it an enjoyable speed, but I'm surprised to see it work in a usable manner at all.
- leinar, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1I like turtles!
- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1this is better and quicker
- kishosingh, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1About the iPhone Google earth features here is some reviews: http://iphonetouchscreen.wordpress.com/2008/10/28/ ...
- dalesmatrix, on 10/27/2008, -1/+2Quite a nice app, perhaps not sikly smooth animation wise, but perhaps they can improve it with a point release.
- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1reboot your phone - its much quicker
- dragossh, on 10/27/2008, -1/+2If you just want to find something, Maps is better than Earth. IMHO, Earth is useful for its Wikipedia and Panoramio integration.

And btw, the correct grammar is; how to make money from the iPhone. - mimio, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1Still not available at Colombia Store
- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -1/+1its because millions of people already have iphones - android will be lucky to pick up anywhere near even 1 million
- DaffyDuck, on 10/27/2008, -1/+1Wrong!
