- breakneckridge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Rusty, just because a topic has been dugg before doesn't mean that an article with new information is a dupe. I just checked through all the links you listed and none have these images, and these images are very revealing to how the movie iPod would work. This isn't an attack on you but I think you have a misunderstanding of what a dupe is. If an article offers new info on a topic that has already been covered then it is not a dupe. Just a friendly fyi.
- arizonagroove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If it's on a random blogspot then it must be true.
- tokyomonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's OBVIOUS that this is a fake. I believe the intended purpose was only to give people a general, and more tangible idea, of what a new ipod may look like, based on the recent patents.
- tokyomonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3again, yes, it's a fake. it's a mock up. mock up.
"mock ( P ) Pronunciation Key (mk)
v. mocked, mock·ing, mocks
v. tr.
To treat with ridicule or contempt; deride.
To mimic, as in sport or derision. See Synonyms at ridicule.
To imitate; counterfeit. "
To imitate; counterfit. Hmm. "mock" "up"..
It's just someones take on what it may look up.
Another way of saying it's someones take?
saying it's a mock up. - badle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Of all the apple product releases, over all the years of apple making new products, how many times have we seen accurate image leaks before they were released? Not often enough to warrant getting all pissy about how or if its photoshopped. Fact is, anybody with time and PS could put together a product picture for any product.
Mac fans: Appreciate the a fellow mac fans work and talent. Don't get all pumped up about how much sweeter this mock up is than anything else.
Anti Mac folks: Shut up and don't try and assume that every mac fan will drool and go nuts over every mac rumor. You are just as bad as they are.
As a member of this Social Network this is my opinion and my contribution. - clos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2so no one thinks this is real? i mean the images are probably ps'ed BUT i still think that apple is going to do something like this
- sfslim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Photoshop, no digg. Note to author: title your Digg article to accurately reflect its content, and you'll likely get more diggs.
For example: "Mockups of rumored full screen iPod design" - hadem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It will probably cost more than the 5G.
- Meowmix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1grantgorgen, it's just you. :P
Great photoshop job. I wouldn't be suprised if that's exactly what they do.
Has anyone ever thought about having a scroll wheel on the back, near the top? It would make it very accesible, without having to touch the screen. - hometoast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"allows for multi-digit touching."
"Something I've been looking for all my life," said Mr. Thumb. - starbird, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"is it just me.. or on http://hrmpf.com/wordpress/54/touch-sensitive-ipod is the direction of scrolling reversed?"
Not only that, but they used the WINDOWS version of iTunes in the diagrams, something Apple surely wouldn't do.... - ginty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Most likely fake, and it would only be cool for like the first three days you had it. Then you would flood digg with complaints about how its scratched to high holy and you can't see you movie very well.
- Miles314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you jackasses. It is BS, even though it is rumored that this type of iPod is in production. Engadget found the Photoshop tags in the exif code in the images.http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/10/so-this-is-the-video-ipod-eh/
Just to let everyone know. - xelloss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well even if its fake, I hope Apple makes that, and better :)
- cherryghost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Am I the only one that hates when people touch my computer screen with their greasy fingers? I couldn't imagine dealing with the finger prints on an iPod like this (although I know I would have to have one!) :)
- stenspect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Total Mockup - Engadget had one too
- rainwater2k5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hate this ipod if it does come out. Scratches and finger prints I'll just say no!!!
- Nation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Reminds me of a lifedrive.
http://www.palm.com/us/products/mobilemanagers/lifedrive/
There are some differences, but yeah. - Chewie67, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*IF* these photos are correct.....I'm getting one.
Black, please! - tracydanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Has anybody pre-complaining about the screen scratches ever had a palm pilot? I have a Zire 72, touch the screen with my fingers plenty, watch videos sometimes, and have no complaints about the screen being smudgy or scratched. I'm sure apple could make a comparable screen.
- TheRealDeal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It find it curious on how every other post is stating that it is a fake. Of course they are fake! That is obvious. How many times has a picture of a future Apple product been leaked?! Almost never. Plain and simple. So please just shut up about it being fake, yes we know. We get it!
What is cool about these pictures is that they present an "artists" rendition of what a future Apple product might look like. It gives those of us that would "digg" such a product something to dream about.
Just for the record, I have a 5G and I love it. But if, Apple were to release a beast today similar to that depicted in the fan mock up, (and they solved the screen smudge problem) then I would be first in line at the Apple store to buy a 6G!! - PixelKid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So if we say for arguements sake this was real how would the videos from itunes look on it? I mean as far as the aspect ratio is concerned? Aren't they encoded as 4:3 whereas that size screen is clearly not 4:3?
- piwy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the patent number on http://hrmpf.com/wordpress/54/touch-sensitive-ipod exists and belongs to apple.
but the patent drawings don't matchup i think (even thepage numbers don't)

- itsbetteronamac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just to say I predicted exactly this 1 year ago, and told my self I wasn't buying an new on until this happend. Yay! Can't wait... if it ever ACTUALLy happens.
- ChadMonahan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Please, Please, Please let Apple make something like this. but with a phone built in too.
- paulwoll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Am I the only one who doesn't get why you would use the wheel to control the volume or position?
I would rather just click on the line on the progress bar and drag it with my finger to the appropriate place for volume or position on a track. The wheel interface might not be a good idea. Touch screen however is cool. - digg-dugg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://digg.com/apple/VIDEO_IPOD_Did_apple_jump_the_gun..._*screenshot
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Please have firewire!
FIREWIRE IS DEAD!!!!!
People need to stop wanting Firewire. I will pee on Firewire ports if a compmuter that I buy new ever has one. - mhusson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't think the major shortcoming of a design like this would be the screen scratching or smudging, but rather you lose all of the textile feeling and physical movement that comes from the current clickwheel. If the clickwheel was on the screen, it would be a lot more difficult to turn the volume up slightly or increase a song rating by 1 star without accidentally 'clicking' a button.
- jtwilkins, on 04/03/2009, -0/+0This have been around much longer then the new ipod video leak. Have some brains before you digg.
- digg-dugg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you're gonna find alot of cracked screens with people trying to click the buttons on the click whell though
- galfridus73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Reported as inaccurate. These images have been floated for a while. They were mock-up done by someone who was wondering what the video iPod would look like.
We now know what it looks like. No digg. - mesostinky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Reported as inaccurate.
Is is possible to ban peoples story submissions so you don't have to see crap like this? - docxxvi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hey i like apple products, in fact i own quite a few but for cryin out loud please....
STOP BLOGGING FREAKIN RUMOUR PRODUCTS! when they are actually announced then post your asses off....
for every 10 rumours 0 (yes thats ZERO of you morons) get it right
no digg.. and i can believe i even bothered writing this as clearly no-one gives a rip. - orangetiki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0O the smudging the smudging. i'll be constantly cleaning it. if it were real. AS for moving away from firewire. that's thanks to no one else supporting it.
- Zeusandhera, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0shoot, didn't work,
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b396/Zeusandhera/PSPiPod.jpg - gookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I dont think the full touch screen version would have an emulated wheel...or else...that would smudge your screen! eewwww!
- duranracing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sorry Its not going to be nothing like that. Also :::hint::: New iPod Will have a Tivo Style Tv Listings guide. It will sync everytime you connect to ur computer.
- Tetsuo6995, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Photoshop roxx !
- KillerX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not real, but interesting idea.
- swizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the screen is going to get so scrached. the screen get scratched now when you don't touch them....imagine how screwed up they will get when you touch it daily.
- skell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll digg it for the concept. If this is the real deal, then I am all over this. It would be hard for me to wait to get this though. I think I'd probably just plop down for a current gen in the coming weeks.
- crunkcrumpet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0if not real, at least the person likes the arctic monkeys...
- panique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@kram - try plugging it straight into a USB 2.0 port/hub
- lico05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice mockup. I would buy it (after selling my Nano)
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Plausible, but just speculation. I think I can handle the wait.
- kram, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0PEEERFECT, I just bought a 60gb video iPod on Tuesday. I know this has nothing to do with the article, but has anyone else with the video iPod noticed how slow the usb syncing is. Apple was retarded to move away from firewire data transfer
- jpatch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah, it's photoshopped (if not GIMPed! ;-)
but, what would Apple think of this? Yeah, first they'd sue the guy for purporting their products... but then, they've got to think, "Can we do that?" - hausome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's so sick. I might get me one....I never owned an Apple product, but this seems interesting!

What is Digg?
