- LaweranceOak, on 10/11/2007, -7/+49I sit with credit card in hand! Apple wood achieved.
- muaddib420, on 10/11/2007, -1/+32biggest *wood* is if Apple updates the sorry intel 950 graphics processor.
- brutimus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+30Oh no, the 15th?! I can't buy gas to get to the Apple store... *rolls eyes*
- rcran, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27At least you didn't buy one of the last Powerbooks... Then you really feel outdated.
- IslandSaint, on 10/11/2007, -5/+32Now my year hold MacBook is TWO generations behind...
- dagamer34, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18I always find it funny that people start making rumors about the wildest things. 4GB RAM! 12" laptop with same specs as 15" model! Better video card! More battery life!
Please, quit asking the impossible. The current MacBooks and MacBook Pros are NO slouches, you people just seem to be falling victim to refresh cycles.
Faster, smaller, cheaper. Pick 2 out of 3 and move on please. - Glenn, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16Here's hoping for an Apple sub-notebook.
- itchytooth, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16I just bought a MacBook a second ago. Literally, one second!
Oh well, into the trash it goes... - Gryffydd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12*you're
- inspecality, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14What's up with all the commenters missing obvious jokes? Is it cause it's an Apple related topic?
Irony. - chris8535, on 10/11/2007, -5/+16Mac users just don't get jokes... its like they don't understand anything unless Jobs explains it to them then tells them they can laugh.
- JamesBrown, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13I'd really like Apple to introduce a 15" MacBook. The 13" screen on the current model is just too small, but to get the 15" inch screen you need to spend $1000 more for the Pro.
- Urusai, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14Apple just doesn't have competitive graphics options, does it? There's where they make their margins.
- sdrawkcaB, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12But what about the Macbook Pros?
- Shorties, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11When purchasing an apple product always check the Buyers Guide on Mac rumors: http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/
- quantumHobbit, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12So where do you live so that I can do some dumpster diving?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Agrred - I bought a cheap Dell a few years ago - it is a complete piece of *****. Its cheap for a reason.
- Codee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Man.
Only if Apple had a trade up program.
Now my year old MacBook Pro, has aged faster than Paris Hilton's dad. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Increased speeds, Ram up to 1gig minimum, larger HD, slightly cheaper price.
Cool - but nothing major - vinhcenthao, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore
Oh yes :D Somethings going down today. - cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -2/+8Nasty, my mate just got his Macbook today. For his sake I hope they don't roll out any new ones :)
- JonnyTrombone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I wonder what percentage of these rumors turn out to be true...
- dingmah, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6@islandsaint
The MacBook isn't even 1 year old yet, it was released May 16, 2006. Tomorrow would be it's first birthday... close enough :p - EBFoxbat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Apple Web Store is down... something's going one!!!
- daFilms, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6...36%, but I just got an insider tip about a rumor saying that 78% of statistics are made up on the spot; but it could just be hearsay.
- Talez, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4If they were to put a new graphics chip in the MacBooks, $20 says that they get either the X3000 or some variant of the GeForce 8500. X3000s are decently fast and 8500s have full H.264 decoding offload. 50 bucks says the next version of the MBP has a 8600GT/GTS for this very reason.
- BZKyle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4My 1st gen macbook has been in the shop 7 times in 7 months... Whee...
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3could care less != couldn't care less
The first is wrong as it implies that you do care which is the opposite of what you're trying to convey. - TheCheeks, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6@Heembo
the last thing i would want is a POS Dell. all the kids that still have PCs get Dells and those things fall apart QUICK. No one likes a wobbly screen cause of a weak screen hinge, i see that way too often. - lessew, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3The Canadian and US online stores are being updated as well.
- potterboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yeah, there is no evidence at all for it... except the apple store is down.
- potterboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Just a speed bump people. Nothing major.
- potterboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2What? The MBP product page has a We will return soon page? More than MB's?
EDIT: NM, all of them are like that
EDIT: The store is back down??? - JohnHamlin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2ooh, so is the us store
http://store.apple.com
EDIT: sorry about double posting that . . . don't know how to delete comments - gamesector, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Did the store just go down again?
- Dotcommer, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5am... am i allowed to laugh at that? ...
NO! MR. JOBS! IM SORRY. PLEASE. DONT TAKE AWAY MY IPOD. I SWEAR I'll NEVER QUESTION YOU AGAIN!!! *Sob*
haaaave muuuuurccceeeeey on meeeeeeee *sob* - cwilson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2With regards to the negative Dell posts, I would have to agree about build quality. I've seen a few good ones, but most of the consumer grade Dell notebooks tend to have a cheap feel to them. I've seen a lot of cracks in cases and other battle wounds. I like Dell desktops but I am not a big fan of their notebook line. I wouldn't say they are POS, but I think myself (and probably many people here) demand a higher build quality from our notebooks.
In keeping with the Apple subject here, I don't stray from the Thinkpad line but if I did it would probably be an Apple. My only concern is the Intel video and the single button for the touchpad. I know Apple traditionally had one button but they even offer two button mice with their desktops now. It's time to put those machines into the two button world... - Shorties, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Why Adobe? Didn't apple just release the Final Cut Studio 2 Suite? Apple could care less about Adobe right now.
- jbciii, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2ahhhh ! hope it happens.. but then again.. i just bought a macbook pro a month ago :-(
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You can extrapolate when an Mac is going to be updated based on Intel's processor roadmap, releases of OS X, releases of macs in the same class (laptops, conusmer desktops, pro desktops), date of last update, rumours etc etc
Macrumors buying guide seems quite accurate when it comes to predicting upgrades. - sancho, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Hey Heembo, got a link to that Dell?
Didn't think so. - jewdiknight, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2What is the return policy if you just got a mac and a new one comes out?
- rentz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1macbook updates and not much of one! what about the macbook pro!?
- yacks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1macbooks are being updated soon.. very soon :) the current macbooks are discontinued models at the store i work at. but anyone can guess its time for an upgrade.
- speedyrev, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://www.apple.com/macbook/macbook.html
- dombi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Crap... nevermind. Someone played a prety good joke on some of us. The link is fake.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Store still updating - glad I didn't order my macbook last week!
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1UK store is down too. Im guessing they're all probably down.
- timusca, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Could this be the flash-based MacBook?
- PathDaemon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@rcran
/me raises hand. A final rev PowerBook must have some special resell value or something... right?
In all honesty, it's an awesome computer but I'm gonna have to replace it to run IntellaMac or Windows apps as I move into college. -
