I think it was a dumbass move by apple to have the iphone sitting on the very top. Usually sensitive items like that are packaged safely within the box so that doesn't happen. Sucks for the guy, but he's stupid for opening a brand new iphone in a crowded area in front of a bunch of people that probably didn't get iphones.

It's like people are are hyper paranoid about scratches on a brand new car. After three months of living in terror of every parking disaster, they settle down and start to enjoy life again. Why do people put themselves through "new expensive thing" damage fear?
