First iPod Touch Review @ PCMag
pcmag.com — When the iPhone came out in June, many people (myself included) loved it, but wanted it without the phone —and that pesky two-year contract with AT&T Wireless. I'm no Luddite, but I don't want my personal media player to ring in the middle of a song.

Wow. That's pretty high praise.- MadOtaku, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12PC mag has been a good source in the past too; rarely do they get too caught up in the hype, so this is doubly good (as it's probably true).
- mrowlinson, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14True. Dvorak would throw a ***** fit if the magazine let itself get caught up in some hype, especially Apple hype.
- Twee, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12Dvorak is a tool.
- gd1z, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2He probably gets a free one, so of course it doesn't bug him.

- fraul, on 10/10/2007, -38/+6Could anyone help a fellow brazilian digger by buyiing and shipping an iPhone for me ? I can pay trough paypal (verified member), you can even list it in ebay for me.
Guys, please don't digg me down.
The damn ebayers are only selling non-factory sealed iPhones, they all are being selled opened with the unlock already made. I want my iPhone to be factory sealed, I will perform the unlock on it ...
If anyone could please do this favor to me, please mail me at feliperaul@bol.com.br
I'm not kidding, lets talk trough skype, Im just asking to give a jump at an apple store and ship the iPhone for me, I will pay for everything of course.
Thanks !- alexearl, on 10/10/2007, -13/+0otimo! vive Brazil! oi meu amigo. sao de onde la na brazil? Voce un brazilero o americano? ate logo.

- lordspidey, on 10/10/2007, -9/+44Dugg because iPod touch is an amazing innovation in the portable music player industry, and no matter how much i dislike apple i must say this is amazing. :)
- cleverboy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4"Still, factor in the slick interface, elegant Web browser, the beautiful glass display, the seamless integration of the WiFi music store, and the iPod touch is worth the price. No portable media player has ever done this much so easily, or looked so good doing it." - PCMag
Sounds like it. Good job, Apple.

- TheWorm, on 10/10/2007, -17/+51It bugs me that they could have made this product so much better if they would have just added a 30 gig hard drive and waited for Flash until the technology was cheaper. It would have been the perfect iPod.
- killerofkiller, on 10/10/2007, -8/+12no, they will do that later and make more money.. and you'll be saying i wish they would of waited till i could of gotten a 60 gb flash drive in it.. it would of been the best ipod ever
- JuliusErving, on 10/10/2007, -10/+3Actually, i dont think that's true given ~30 gigs would be enough space for music + video.. stop trying to be clever.
- subcomandante, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7I think killer was just proving a point to worm. I think he's right.
- killerofkiller, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yes, yes i was
- JuliusErving, on 10/10/2007, -10/+3Actually, i dont think that's true given ~30 gigs would be enough space for music + video.. stop trying to be clever.
- joshpar, on 10/10/2007, -4/+20why wait when you can:
1) rush it out the door
2) upgrade later with more and cheaper memory
3) lower the price
It will happen. Just don't buy the first one. Why should everyone else wait along with you? - twrife, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24The battery life would've blown.
- FoxOrian, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18A hard drive would drain the battery life, though. I know alot of people would rather want an iPod Touch that's as thick as the iPod Video just to have 30+ GB of storage, but the iPod Video [or "Classic" now,] does not have a higher-end processor and wi-fi to power. When you mix the large bright touch display, the processor, internal amp, and wi-fi, the last thing you want tugging on even more power is an HDD. Plus, for something like the touch, you want it to be responsive and zippy -- something those little slow-spinning hard-drives can't keep up with. It's just like the PSP -- running a game from the memory card can save a bit of battery compared to running the UMD drive, and help load much faster. [-- and don't forget when wi-fi is turned on with the PSP. The battery is decimated.]
- IEatHamburgers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Wouldn't a thicker iPod Touch allow for a bigger battery, like that 40-hour one in the 160GB classic?
- fugazied, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Large Touchscreen + Hard drive would have killed the battery I think. Ipod touch being .6mm thicker wouldn't have mattered to most people but if battery life on your 120gb ipod touch with hard drive was 2 hrs I think it would kinda suck.
- Angostura, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Actually, as an original iPod Mini owner looking to upgrade, the 16Gigs limit doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me are the truly stupid decisions, like the one to stop you entering new calendar entries (unlike the phone) and to give you Web access, but no e-mail client, unlike the phone.
- Twee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Wait, you can't make new calendar entries on the iPod touch? That's unacceptable.
- superkendall, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Then buy the phone! It's not much more.
- echinda, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1or use google apps through the built in browser
- orph3us, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I hope people still are reading after it's been posted on the front page because I'm really wondering if someone can answer me if changing the flash memory is doable. I know its probably soldered onto the board, but if you're careful, could you upgrade the memory in this thing in a year or two? I just took apart my ipod 3g to add a new front cover and replace the battery and that was easy. I'm sure anything involving soldering would be an order of magnitude more difficult, but if it's possible, why not? I'm sure many of you like me are the do it yourself types.
- akhomerun, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1no you can't. you just can't.
- 0siris, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I do recall people doing this to the nano, just by soldering matching flash on top of the originals. Could it be a hoax? I don't remember, but i remember seeing it done.
- jtp51, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3People like you are never happy with anything, go back to your shelf stocking job.
- nape, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2thats why im going to buy it from best buy with a replacement plan, then exchange it once they upgrade the harddrive. i think usually best buy plans last 2 years, so it'll prolly cover me.
- mrraven200, on 10/10/2007, -1/+130? 160 gig HD to hold all my music + movies + tee vee.
- pkfx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They should make the iPod Touch thicker, double the amount of flash memory, and make the battery bigger.
- cupofjoe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1...and make the price $1500?
- BirthTax, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0With 30+G flash around the corner, why design for the hard drive that will be obsolete (for a portable media player) in 6 months? Now they can keep this design for a longer time and just pump up the flash.
- killerofkiller, on 10/10/2007, -8/+12no, they will do that later and make more money.. and you'll be saying i wish they would of waited till i could of gotten a 60 gb flash drive in it.. it would of been the best ipod ever
- gnychis, on 10/10/2007, -17/+5I dunno... it personally reminds me of a crippled version of a PocketPC with a little more memory
- colincornaby, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6A little more? Seriously? 8 gigs minimum on the iPhone is "a little more" than the 64 megs or 128 megs that comes on most PocketPCs? Are you going to tell me next that Bill Gates only has "a little more" money than you do?
- DOGPARTY, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1haha ICE BURNED
- Space4ThePoppa, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Crippled in that you can't get a BSD?
- Satanael, on 10/10/2007, -9/+29Alex Albrecht mentioned it on Diggnation, and I agree; it would be excusable, I believe, if they made it just a little thicker and popped a hard drive in there. That's a lot of money for just 16GB
- fugazied, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Battery life on the Ipod touch with a HD is probably the issue.
- enchantedsky, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Part of the extra thickness would obviously be a larger battery to accommodate longer battery life, along with a hard drive.
- rebotfc, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4You just cant get a battery to power the hungy processor and the big hard disk.
Engineering is about compromises. - neuropsychguy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Of course the same thing was said about the original iPod: "That's a lot of money for XXXX GB." Yeah, so? It would be nice to have more storage but we can't have everything, unfortunately.

- LinuxGalore, on 10/10/2007, -12/+3So basically what we have is a very large media player that doesn't actually play much in the way of media (no ogg, flak, avi, mkv support) with a big low res screen and poor storage ability that is tied to iTunes.
- JuliusErving, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4Your comment is so vague. A very large media player? Have you used an iphone? It's even smaller / thinner than that, which is pretty small to begin with. Just about any PVP is going to require some video converting (yes, even the archos players) so I don't see that as a big deal. A low res screen? 640x480 for a 3.5 inch screen is more than fine. My only complaint would be storage space, but i'll wait until they get to 32 gigs to buy one.
- LinuxGalore, on 10/10/2007, -9/+1And I quote "The 3.5-inch multitouch widescreen has a resolution of 480-by-320". That means you will have to downsize most freely available video files before you can play them. Get your facts right fan boy.
- JuliusErving, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Honestly, my mistake. It's STILL fine for a screen that size, though.
- colincornaby, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The iPhone/iPod Touch can play larger res media files and downscale them for you. This is the year 2007 after all. Not that you'd want to throw 1080p at it though...
- sv650touring, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm confused. Is he a Dr. J fanboy?

- soot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7You must be high if you think the iPhone/iPod Touch is a very large media player
- LinuxGalore, on 10/10/2007, -7/+1Considering it doesnt play much other than music its very big.
- mrowlinson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It plays plenty of other stuff, but just short of enough so you to come on here and complain about it.
- LinuxGalore, on 10/10/2007, -7/+1Considering it doesnt play much other than music its very big.

- twrife, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2I'm still waiting to see the almighty 'gPhone' before I decide what I want for Christmas.
So far, this is second on my list if the 'gPhone' == -1- vortex22222, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2You do realize this isn't an iPhone review...
- twrife, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Yes, I do.
- vortex22222, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2You do realize this isn't an iPhone review...
- LinuxGalore, on 10/10/2007, -9/+4I own a Nokia N800 and it sells for about the same price (actually less) and plays just about everything and has a high res screen with Buetooth/WiFi/FM Tuner and you can write and install applications on it. Also note you can change the battery and upgrade the storage (two of them) sim cards at any time.
- FoxOrian, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6Good for you and all... That's a phone. The iPod Touch is not a phone.
- LinuxGalore, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4Wrong, the N800 is not a mobile phone no GSM or CDMA support..
- FoxOrian, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Er, not a phone. Damnit I'm confused by Nokia now. Classified as an "Internet Appliance"
Okay, I see what you mean. Just not quite so elegant in way of design.- LinuxGalore, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2You mean it does everything the Itouch cant do, I dare say you are pointing the lack of design functionality arrow at the wrong product.
- JuliusErving, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Sorry, but the fact that it has just about zero internal storage is kind of a negative if you ask me. Also weighs almost twice as much and is 1.5 x as thick as the iPod touch.
- fanboydcs, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I am a huge Linux guy, and I loved my nokia 770, and I really really wanted the Nokia N800, but the iPod touch has so much more storage, its so light weight, and the screen res makes no difference since the iPod Touch and iPhone are resolution independent. For example, if I am on a Nokia 770 and I am viewing digg.com I can see the entire page but the text is way to small. on the iPhone/iPod touch the page is displayed in full and you double tap on the screen where you want to read, this is a much better way of browsing the web. Also the media player on the n800 is very poor, you have to convert all content and its very very laggy.
- jaisin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I sold my N800 for an iPhone. The N800 was so buggy. The email and rss crashed hourly. Nothing would run fast at all. The only cool thing was having Pidgin on there, but its much easier to type on the iPhones screen becasue they did a better job.
- FoxOrian, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6Good for you and all... That's a phone. The iPod Touch is not a phone.
- Helbrecht, on 10/10/2007, -3/+26Just the fact that this thing runs the iPhone's version of safari is the deal maker for me. I have it pre-ordered. :)
- Genetico, on 10/10/2007, -8/+6Like with any apple product you have to remember of course thier are better products out there that have more space, bluetooth, switchable batteries, feetwarmers, flotation device. What sells well with apple is the interactive interface. It's easy and enjoyable to use an iphone or an ipod, and they look gorgeous. This is what I imagined future gadgets would look like when I was a kid. Remember watching Star Trek the next generation? remember Dr. Beverly Crusher showing picard the schematics of her patients on that awsome super thin aluminum tablet with the glossy screen? Or Jordi carrying around the same gadget? I dont care if the ipod touch doesnt have bluetooth or more memory, I'm finally gonna have a ***** star trek gadget. Now whenever Im out with my friends and we get caught in a blizzard and we are lost and hungry and cold and we have wifi ha ha ha, awsome...
- LinuxGalore, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3Just buy a N800, its been out for a while and actually has a optional LCARS graphical UI and has way more functionality than the iTouch.
- louiedog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3LCARS was lame when people first started making themes out of it and it remains that way today. You might as well make your screensaver the scrolling matrix text while you're at it. The N800 is cool though.
- colincornaby, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Um, ok. I'm just going to say I like the iPhone better than the competition because it's smaller and has more memory.
- theboozer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hear! Hear! This right here is the fighting spirit behind the Glorious Apple technology. Long live Star Trek gadgets! Long Live Steve Jobs!
- LinuxGalore, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3Just buy a N800, its been out for a while and actually has a optional LCARS graphical UI and has way more functionality than the iTouch.
- enclave2, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15I want this to be a PDA.
I want everything it has, with support for third party apps, so I can use gmail and google calender. Give me that, and i'm in love.- spazzcat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Its got a browser in it...so you can use those things
- akhomerun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2you can install applications on the ipod touch/iphone pretty easily.
- kuwan, on 10/10/2007, -6/+17I don't mind the small storage size too much but that Apple has intentionally crippled the Touch by limiting the Calendar application and not including Mail, Google Maps and other applications is inexcusable. There's no reason not to include these software application other than some marketing dumbass has decided that they need to do something to arbitrarily "differentiate" the iPhone from the Touch.
If I were to guess I wouldn't be surprised if many of the iPhone/Touch engineers are just as upset as the rest of us that the Touch is running limited software and that there still isn't an official SDK for the devices. To me it seems obvious that the people that actually created the iPhone/Touch designed it as the ultimate mobile computing platform. I think they want it to run 3rd party apps, they want it to be an ultra-portable Mac - they're OS X engineers after all. Why else go to all the trouble of porting Mac OS X if you're not going to allow for application development? I'm sure they want the Touch to be just as capable as the iPhone sans the phone. But then of course a bunch of marketing ***** had to get together and say: "Nope, no 3rd party apps. And why do you guys have Mail and Google Maps running on the Touch? Take that off we need to sell phones somehow. Oh and the Calendar app, you can't edit events on the Touch, no other iPods do that, take that feature out too."
I'm still hopeful that we'll see an official SDK after Leopard is released. But if Leopard comes and goes and we don't see an SDK then I think Apple will have missed out on creating one of the most revolutionary platforms since the original Macintosh. Imagine if Apple had introduced the Macintosh without support for 3rd party development - that's pretty much how it seems now with the iPhone/Touch.- clak, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Read this my son: http://www.roughlydrafted.com/RD/TechQ307/Entries/2007/9/13_How_Closed_Is_the_iPhone.html
- firepowered, on 10/10/2007, -17/+3The iPod Touch sucks blah blah blah.
*yes digg me down, i am waiting.. - JuliusErving, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9After reading the first slew of comments, it's pretty clear people are hating on this device just because it's made by Apple. Very vague / arbitrary complaints. This is by far one of the best portable video players ever created. I never owned an iPod (aside from a nano) because I always wanted a PVP with a large widescreen. My sister has an iPod video and I could never imagine watching a movie on there.
Anyway, my only complaint would have to be the 16 GB storage space. It's too small. Other than that, the sleek design, large screen, full safari browser, and youtube functionality has me sold. I'll probably wait for a 32 gig version, though.- adml_shake, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2You can easily flip that around to say that the only people praising it are doing so only because it's made by apple.
- spacebetween, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yup, you're absolutely right.
- alphahack, on 10/10/2007, -4/+50PEOPLE! seriously you need to understand how things work, stop complaining about using a hard drive now and waiting for solid state prices to go down. It doesn't work that way. Let me lay it down for you. In order for the prices of solid state memory to go down you actually have to adopt it first so that more money goes into the solid state industry. What everyone is asking for is a hard drive now and flash later, but if we make that argument for this product the same case will be made for all other products that currently use a hard drive instead of solid state - purely on the basis of price. So if no one on the market decides to take the risk and start seriously supporting solid state memory, the price will never go down because we will always prefer the device that costs less to the device that provides longer battery life and more durability. When a standard is first adopted of course it's going to be expensive, the price will never go down if we don't start using it! Just think about dvd's has not the price gone down dramatically since its first appearance? It has done so because its adoption into the market has allowed for the development of cheaper production methods and ultimately streamlined mass production. I thank Apple for pushing solid state memory onto the market now so that it will become cheaper in the future. At the moment it is a push from the Industry's side, but as the standard begins to sell and as prices go down it will be lovingly embraced by the customer as well. So please I ask that you stop complaining and just see this as a temporary burden on the path to a better future of better, cheaper media.
- LvsSocer, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1I beg to differ -
Flash is a _far_ cry from being a new technology with low adoption rates.
I think the reason for using flash is pretty clear; they're trying to drive typical ipod users to pickup an iphone. Making a 'touch' device with drive space an order of magnitude larger than the iphone would be cutting the legs out from underneath the iPhone before it even gets a chance.
I, for one, welcome our new cellphone overlords - matt9m5, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Thank You.
- IEatHamburgers, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Taking Alphahack's comment and splitting it into paragraphs to make it easier to digest :)

- Twee, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Archos requires you to buy $100 add-ons to gain functionality. Sounds like a scam to me.
- Space4ThePoppa, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Archos may have been "it" yesterday, but the touch blows it away from the functionality that is delivered and does not have to be purchased separately, and by the UI.
No - I am not buying a Touch or an iPhone. I upgraded to an 80gb iPod because my 30gb ran out of room for my music. I will upgrade my 80gb iPod when the same happens (I am copying my vinyl collection to digital). I use a Treo 650p. I works fine for everything else I need besides a media player, which I do not want my phone to do. Ever.
But - the touch is a 4.5 star device, and I will not argue that it is the best media player out there.
- DaviDaviDaviD, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3Good review even if I only read a little. A HDD version really wouldn't work. Any 5G ipod owner will tell you that viewing photo's on it takes some time for the HDD to load the images. Imagine doing the image re-size thing with that!
Pre-ordered :) - HumanRecall, on 10/10/2007, -11/+4Hell my Archos 402 Cam ( as in camcorder and camera ) with 20 gig hard drive is just as good as this and i bought it 2 yrs ago Xmas past for $320

- RealHyperX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Why so much apple hate lately?
- Theli, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I have nothing against Apple's products, but I just don't want to be part of the fan base.
It's not Apple (the company) they hate, it's the fan base. - Space4ThePoppa, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"Lately"? Where have you been? Ever since Jobs came back and put Apple back on track, Naysayers/Apple-Haters have been more and more vocal.

- ThankTheCheese, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2anyone know if the earphones have the special iPhone squeeze to pause/skip feature? The article mentions the earphones briefly, but does not mention this.
- akhomerun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2no, they don't
- TTURabble, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I read the part about double clicking the home button to bring up the music controls over any other screen, I hope they update the firmware on the iPhone to include this.
Sounds like a neat little device for the people who don't want the iPhone (ATT contract and whatnot) I'm quickly becoming an apple convert. - ViperX116, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I would still like to know how the music controls would work if the player is in your pocket or something. Would it be easy/not easy to control? Do I need to look at the screen to touch the right icons?
- specialK16, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You can probably buy a "remote control" like the ones currrently available for the iPod Classic.
- arono, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I've been thinking about this as well. I'm going to miss being able to skip a track or change the volume by using the clickwheel from outside my pocket.
- DelMonte, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't think you can control it easily without looking, and this is the main reason why I bought a new nano instead of the touch.
Currently, there's no remote control available for the iPod touch (or the iPhone for that matter), the Apple radio/remote only works on the nano and classic. I was hopping that Apple would release some shuffle shaped bluetooth remote that you could plug your headphones into, but seeing as the iPod touch doesn't have BT (no guys, it's not hidden in there...).
When/if they release a remote for the touch, I will consider buying one.
- jdowney, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0looks like they are disabling the bluetooth feature, not that big of a deal as it seems like it will be either a future firmware update or a nex gen feature. For most people 16gb is just fine, but just like the first generations of regular ipod with hdd the next generations of the ipod touch will really be awsome.
- amiller311, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"I don't want my personal media player to ring in the middle of a song."
I'm pretty sure you can turn the phone off for those times you simply want to listen to music or watch a movie without being interrupted. The two-year contract from ATT is another story though...- yazheirx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yes, flight mode will work for that
- uidzero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Why is PC mag saying the Ipod has a slightly better screen and Engadget saying the Iphone has the slightly better screen?
- HumanRecall, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes -7 diggs you ***** sheep ***** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- clasp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Is it too much to hope for another immediate price drop from Apple?
- danny520, on 03/25/2008, -0/+0well, i just got my ipod touch for christmas. It is very good. However i belive that apple could have made it even better. For example you can not add events on the calender why? thats what you do with a calender is it not? Another thing that it is lacking is the bluetooth. I can understand that they didnt have to keep cost lower but i would have happly paided the difference! However the functions that are with are excellent and i would recommend getting it. But i wouldnt spend all your money i would say get the 8GB.
And today I've found my cool ipod touch case online occasionally! This Blue heart pattern and handy design makes my ipod touch be much more attractive for .
http://www.sourcingmap.com/blue-heart-deluxe-plast ...
This unique case gives my iPod Touch a great look and style. And it is supposed to give your ipod Touch protection from scratches and minor drops.Dust resistant and keep dust from absorbing on the iPod Touch protector case for much static charge.Aha,Perfect collocation,Does it?IMO, it is a great accessorie for a Apple iPod Touch owner to have.
Sincerely I think they're just overpriced a little! So do my friends. But Don't listen to anyone. If u've got the money go for the touch as well as the phone too. Its ur life man!!! If u dont then nobody can help u.
And only one thinger want 2 complaint:The company claims that the Touch can play music for up to 22 hours and video for up to five hours on a single battery charge, even with Wi-Fi turned on. But in my tests, using factory settings, music playback lasted just under 17 hours and video playback lasted just over four hours. Nearly every other iPod I’ve tested, including the new Nano, handily beat Apple’s battery claims.
Despite these downsides, the Touch is a great media player, and the iPod remains the best end-to-end portable solution for playing and purchasing music and video. - appleipodhacker, on 05/07/2008, -0/+0Hi everyone. Just got my apple iphone. The amount of hype about this mobile is only second to the one on euthanasia! Anyways the following are my comments.
The GOOD. The design, feel & display are super. Without doubt revolutionary. User interface is very easy. Have been used to Nokia for years, but adjusted within one day. Touch screen feels great & enough tools even for an above average mobile user.
The NOT SO GOOD. Screen is so big ,smooth and luxuriant. But it prone to fingerprints & smudges.it's easy to catch dust, greasiness and fingerprint, and I even worried about scratchs and blows. Fortunately I've found three stylish and beautiful iphone cases http://www.easyipodshop.com/iPhone-Silicone-Skin-c ... to pretect my precious iphone and I can take it in various places with various beautiful appearances. And I even got a screen protector for it. So I think this would keep it in best condition. Slightly heavy & takes three hours to charge. Earphones are useless. But then that can be changed. Can't change battery & third party applications are useless. So no special ringtones. Just have to be pleased with the ones that are there. Which are terrible! A 2MP camera in these times. Wake up apple.
The BAD. Battery Life is pathetic, drops calls & low signal (oops I thought that a mobile must do these basics at least) Needs a charge every day. Even after tricks to save battery Life.
CONCLUSION. Overall a revolution in mobile handsets. Very good for those who are fashion conscious, like to carry music, wi fi, videos & make a few calls, few sms's a day. Also are not too demanding & less finicky (hope this is the right spelling) Bye :-).
