- Snap65, on 06/22/2009, -6/+380wait... You cannot be a badass and giggle.
- Trojan, on 06/23/2009, -6/+319It's all fun and games until someone confronts the thief and gets murdered over a phone.
- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -20/+201"I shook his hand - Lord knows why I did that - and the three of us walked off."
if someone stole $600 dollars worth of anything from me and was such a pussy as to just give it back I would punch them in the dick so hard they would puke - yocouchdigga, on 06/23/2009, -2/+164I'd internet tough guy my way into making them buy me something.
- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -8/+166Cool story, bro
- EvolvedAnt, on 06/23/2009, -20/+174Too bad it costs $99.00 PER YEAR for a mobile me subscription. For that cost, you might as well save your money and buy a new phone every 3 years.
Honestly now... $99 for Find my phone, and iDisk... 2 things that should be free with the phone and cell plan already. Rip off central. - JoeHague, on 06/23/2009, -3/+114The story would have been even better if the thief had robbed the laptop and lego art when they confronted him/
- nomoreink, on 06/23/2009, -1/+88SHE'S NOT IN THE KITCHEN?!
- robdiggity, on 06/23/2009, -0/+83I don't think you would.
- kenwestin, on 06/23/2009, -5/+87Lucky he pulled the iPhone out of his bag and not a knife or gun. I am wondering how long it will take before someone gets murdered trying to recover their iPhone. A thief can easily disable the tracking...a smarter thief that is.
- itsbob, on 06/23/2009, -1/+74Yeah, I like that find my wife feature too
- yocouchdigga, on 06/23/2009, -4/+64he's lucky he and his lego-loving friends didn't find their way into an ass beating of epic proportions by a gang of iPhone junkies.
- nunofgs, on 06/22/2009, -7/+67That's awesome!
The only problem is if you don't have push enabled. I had to disable it because it made my battery last less than a day - Shagmire, on 06/23/2009, -3/+62Well written and very entertaining. Glad it worked out for him.
- gllopc, on 06/23/2009, -5/+53Only a day? That's normal. Charge it each night. It's not a candy bar sized Nokia that can only play Snake.
- pirategonzo, on 06/23/2009, -0/+47Is there a "Lose my wife" feature? I would like that one.
- wild, on 06/23/2009, -1/+47You just want to touch his dick.

-taken directly from the bottom of the article on Gizmodo... nice one cyber-sleuth - TheBigBad, on 06/23/2009, -1/+47I have the following message set to pop up if someone steals my phone:
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money because AT&T's monthly charges are too damned expensive. But what I do have is a very particular program; a program I have acquired from Apple for $99. A program that makes me a nightmare for people like you. If you return my iPhone now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. - DocHoliday22, on 06/23/2009, -1/+45Alternate ending of the story is when the thief uses the iPhone to call his cousins and the "Three Skinny White Guys" get stabbed and murdered.
- akeldama, on 06/23/2009, -2/+40Christ that's creepy.
- littledietz07, on 06/23/2009, -1/+36***** Punt
- peestandingup, on 06/23/2009, -21/+52And also on the latest versions of Google Maps (Latitude) for a few months now.
But hey, its iPhone. Where a "new feature" is basically standard game for every other smartphone. - mrBitch, on 06/23/2009, -1/+29Actually, this would make a great "Big Bang Theory" episode...
- osko2052, on 06/23/2009, -7/+35BlackBerry has several programs that do the exact same thing.
- juzz101, on 06/23/2009, -10/+37iPhone thieves across the country beware. Nerds unite!!!
- mrBitch, on 06/23/2009, -1/+27From the comments section FTA :
" .. former chicagoan : great story, glad you got your phone back. you're lucky you didn't get shot in the face." - chromerium, on 06/23/2009, -0/+23Enable Push and set Fetch to "Manually".
- wontstoptalking, on 06/23/2009, -4/+25Whoops, huge apologies, not sure how I could have been so dumb.
Bury my comment and carry on. - darthbutcher, on 06/23/2009, -1/+21Only if they looked like this: http://bit.ly/VUYhl
- heyjohnsullivan, on 06/23/2009, -1/+21Butters. You don't shoot a guy in the dick. THAT IS NOT COOL.
- swmbuk, on 06/23/2009, -0/+19Except Apple gives you a huge idisk, imap email, and essentially your own exchange server, among many many other things... I know what I'd rather have in for the sake of $39.
- Tarotsan, on 06/23/2009, -1/+20If he found the phone and made no attempt to return it to the owner then he is most certainly a thief by definition.
- CrazyEddie041, on 06/23/2009, -3/+22No, but I can tell you hate minorities...
- wild, on 06/23/2009, -0/+19It is much funnier if you read it in Sheldon's voice.
- uppedbyhiggins, on 06/23/2009, -0/+19World of Warcraft: iPhone Edition
- paloooz, on 06/23/2009, -3/+22OH YEAH SUCK MY JAGON OH YEAH
- protonone, on 06/23/2009, -0/+19I would much rather have an option to activate weapons and destroy the guy who took it. No one would ever steal iPhones if they knew I could remotely cause it to self destruct and blow off their leg.
- PenisBreath, on 06/23/2009, -2/+20punch a guy in the dick? very bad ass..
- raviollininja, on 06/23/2009, -7/+23Apple's Marketing Department works, and it's awesome!
- mrBitch, on 06/23/2009, -3/+19FTA :
" .. He pulled my phone out, totally unharmed, and handed it over. I resisted the urge to giggle.
I shook his hand - Lord knows why I did that - and the three of us walked off. We laughed triumphantly, adrenaline racing, feeling like the Jack Bauer trio. (Disregard the fact that we'd just left a Lego convention.)" - jerrykew, on 06/23/2009, -0/+16Also worth checking this story out - http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/SmartHome/story?id=57594 ... - wifi card on camera causes stolen camera to upload images of thief.
- palmer, on 06/23/2009, -4/+19He should've gone back to the bar and had the jagoff fired.
- sebconn, on 06/23/2009, -1/+15Assuming it's a service from the carrier, it probably doesn't make use of the phone's GPS. You wouldn't be able to watch it walk up the street like these guys experienced. The triangulate method isn't anywhere near as accurate.
Still, if the phone is indoors the service is on par. - ericdano, on 06/23/2009, -0/+14Well, it would need GPS to really work..........plus....oh nevermind
- Charlotte_Web, on 06/23/2009, -0/+14Good thing the thief was too stupid to turn the phone off.
- sirbeta, on 06/23/2009, -1/+15Simply removing the sim card is the easiest method, or setting the phone back to factory settings. Then there's the sad truth that most people do not password protect their phones in the first place, leaving them open to literally disabling the service or just plain deleting the MobileMe account.
- Chan815, on 06/23/2009, -1/+15...do you cuddle with it after you ***** it each night?
- DomZy, on 06/23/2009, -0/+14He's on about .mac, which is what mobileme was before it got re-branded for the iPhone
