    I have a old ASUS laptop and it comes with WebCAM and even old Vaio came with webcams. that was years before Mac even becomes popular again.

They give John Hodgman (the PC) all the good lines while making the Mac smugly superior, and make shallow points that anyone who's running a PC would know are half-truths. Yet the target market for these ads is supposed to be PC users. Doesn't make any sense, and it makes people hate Apple.

Besides, if you spend the same money on building your own PC as you would on purchasing a Mac, you'd end up with a hell of a machine for the money. That's the beauty of the IBM model being open to anybody. Mac is fashionable, but they're still the commies of the computing world.

    You're a retard. Dell sells the most up-to-date hardware at very competitive prices, and 9/10 times is cheaper than Apple. A P4 2.8? Dell hasn't sold the P4 line in /years/.

    $999 iMac. Core2 Duo Unspecified 1.86ghz, 512MB memory, Intel GMA950 Graphics 64MB, 160GB SATA HDD, 17" LCD,

    Mac has /never/ done well in the low-mid priced areas, as the Dell here beats it in /every single catagory/, unless Apples "unspecified" 1.86GHz is the E6300.

    And don't say Mini, because Dell beats Apple at /any/ sub-2000 to 2500 dollar price point, period.

    1) Powerful windows only DSP design tools (Yes, I could run these in some sort of VMware equivalent but why pay for 2 OSes)
    2) City of Heroes: My MMO of choice
    3) Web Multimedia,Until a few days ago adult swim fix wasn't mac compatible, mtvU doesn't even play nice with firefox, there are tons of sites that still require IE on Windows.

    There are tons of field specific windows only niche tools, like autocad, etc.

    Honestly though, If all my apps magically worked and I didn't have to worry about dual booting or virtualization of 3rd party API implementations, I wouldn't use windows, but I wouldn't be using Macs either, I would be on Linux.

    The macs are a little one sided, but obviously that's the point. In my oppinion, they don't really touch into a lot of the best reasons to get a mac. It's just a matter of what works best for you. But if you can't see that both are good in certain seperate ways then you're a little blinded.

Be happy there are 2 major competitors, you wouldn't be so proud if there was only one type with rip off prices and such. And on that note, I prefer PC.

I asked him if he'd seen the Mac ad with the webcam taped to the PC guys head. We all laughed. I used to velcro it there when I had a PC.
