- MarkCiccone, on 10/12/2007, -9/+104See? These are the people this company sells to, they do exist.
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -7/+91FAKE!!!
oh wait... - underburn, on 10/12/2007, -8/+70Speak for yourself, Ill take two.
- undersky, on 10/12/2007, -3/+61Hey at least it seems to have a replaceable battery.
- mobilitatis, on 10/12/2007, -6/+40Looks great!
- dio33, on 10/12/2007, -33/+65they're both crap, might as well save a few bucks
- Ocelot13, on 10/12/2007, -4/+35Wrong Color - Check
Wrong User Input - Check
Wrong Logo - Check
hey, but atleast they tried...thats all that matters right? and at the end of the day, you know they sold a few of these - suman78, on 10/12/2007, -6/+36I am sure soon we will see this sold on ebay for 1200$$
- tonich03, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32I wish my mobile phone looked like that except for the multi-leafed apple logo-
- razrielle, on 10/12/2007, -12/+40No, no it wont
- Burritoking924, on 10/12/2007, -10/+37Can you idiots stop with these "but will it blend comments." Are you that stupid that you have to repeat something that is said over and over again, and still find it funny.
- PiGuy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+30The true irony is that if this was an actual Apple product (with a real logo and all), the Apple fanboys would be calling it the greatest thing they've ever seen.
- Po0py, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28For a ***** iPhone fake, it actually looks ok. In a ***** iPhone fake kinda way.
- undersky, on 10/12/2007, -6/+25actually, i don't think this was an attempt at deception. i don't think the maker of the phone actually think that people would buy them and think it's the real thing, since those people who buy them probably have seen the iphone ad.
pirating products may it be a prada purse or nike shoes in china is a funny thing sometime. people would get a product even it's fake for the buzz of the original creation the fake is meant to imitate.
after all, isn't it cool to show off, "hey, look at my fake iPhone!"
"what? omg that's hilarious."
oh, and the translation of the [simplified, not traditional] chinese text on it is:
Do not hurt me-[name of the singer].mp3 - LilBoyLuver, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Agreed I am so sick of the Digg.com Joke recycling system. ie: will it blend, I thought step 4 was profit, that one about mother Russia, and my personal abused favorite, I'd hit that......With a stick. Lets be a little more original here folks.
- TVarmy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16The Russia snowclone is tragic. If you actually think about Smirnoff's original jokes, they were actually pretty clever and multi-layered. Now, we just reverse any random phrase. Shoe wears you, etc. Ah well.
An example of the original:
In America, you watch TV
In Soviet Russia, TV watches you!
(A reference to CC cameras watching the public) - deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I hope Apple ends up releasing an iPhone model with a similar form factor. A cheap 'iPhone nano" would appeal to people who don't really care about smart phone features
- Zeush8su, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Seems you buy the "Real" Iphone on ebay

0 feedback seller... I'll take 2. - Ayavaron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I've heard some pretty good "In Soviet Russia" jokes on more recent subjects.
"Here, you keep taps on your browser. In Soviet Russia, browser keeps tabs on you!"
And on the subject of cliches, don't forget the "I'm in ur __ __ing ur __" jokes. - spookyttws, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Finally an answer to the question. Now please never ask it again.
- JorgeGT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I think the very original was "In California you can always find a party; in Russia, the Party can always find you!"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Don't laugh, if people weren't that stupid, there wouldn't be thousands of spam emails promising free money and ragging erections.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10He speaks the truth.
- alexmuller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Wow, what's a ragging erection? Never had one of those...
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Here's where I might make some kind of menstrual joke, but that kinda grosses even me out
- kyelewis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11The PPDwhat protocol?
- TVarmy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10@30trip
Well, Apple did make the first GUI desktop that was somewhat successful. I'm sure if I say "first" gui, I'll get pelted by a bunch of prototypes and betas, but Mac was really the first one people would actually use. - Louisd11, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10What is the name of the company's that make this stuff? Like how do they get the products to make an sell this stuff? Anyone ever think of that? They should have a "How stuff works" on how conmen make fake stuff.
- chuckpenzone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7yes - turn your Zune down and listen to the Keynote again
- timyjl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6call it an "ifauxn"
- cmer, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Misleadingly similar! NOT!
- markdr123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6O RLY?
- Rice, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10I have to disagree. Apple has a habit of giving people what they want before they want it... or so they think. Apple believes that it's going to make people want smart phone features. Let's see how that works.
But I doubt they'll do a non-smart phone. - spookyttws, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8@30trip
Let's see, first windowed OS, first true windows/apple dual boot, first main stream mp3 player, first truly successful legal online music store, first OSX (vista being second)...okay the last was a joke. And I don't even own anything apple. - TVarmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Usually, these companies have no public name, and are really, truly generic. Some counterfeit goods from these places are surprisingly good, such as fake brand name zippers(Check your zipper. If it says YKK, it's from a Japanese brand of zipper company)/toilet paper/soap/etc, which often end up on store shelves and perform about as real as the original (Which begs the question: Is it still worth being upset over being sold a counterfeit?). Of course, when it comes to sophisticated goods like cell phones, TV's, medicine, or computer software, counterfeits are more obvious and often more tragic.
Having toilet paper fail is mildly annoying. Realizing your business firm is in debt and risking bankruptcy because of copies of Windows XP that turned out to be blank CDRs or that you will die because of fake meds is devastating. - darkyoshi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I Prefer People's Tendencies to Capitalize Most of The Words in Their Sentences!
- knelto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm pretty sure it's not backwards, but that they just added a leaf.
- mikolby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5They should have called it the iPhoney. he he he
- kamtsa, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8"... ignorance of the masses" ???
This product makes much more sense to me that paying $500 for a GSM phone that is locked to a single carrier. - Rice, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Awesome logo.
- aks123, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Nobody here has actually tried this phone, yet everyone is saying that it's bad. That's exactly what the apple corporation wants, loyal little customers like you who will scoff at anything that looks like apple, but revel in anything that is apple. In the grand scheme of things companies copy off each other all the time: Ford copied off of Oldsmobile, HP copied off of IBM, Burger King copied off of McDonalds. All the phone companies today copied off of Bellsouth. Apple did not invent shiny white plastic, nor did they invent the phone.
- SVPirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1We'll just wait a few weeks while Cisco & Apple sue for using the name...
- ThankTheCheese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't doubt there are morons who would do this, but what does surprise me is that there are 5 people who apparently have been fooled!
- knelto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's interesting... I'm curious as to how he's going to get away with that one, although something interesting to notice is that under "Features" it says that it's "Unlocked"...
- chuckpenzone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'd rather have an "iRack"
THERE IS NO EXIT STRATEGY!
http://www.tuaw.com/2007/03/14/found-footage-steve-introduces-the-irack/ - darkyoshi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And at the same time it's carrier is Cingular
- smenzel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This might be worth getting just for the novelty factor.
- ladyarcher85, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Lots of people... all for different reasons
