- Halligan, on 07/08/2008, -0/+4Apple wanted an exclusive deal and actually did approach VZW prior to AT&T. VZW turned them down. It would have been a trade off though. Faster data network, but wouldn't have worked outside of North America.

The article mentions the ability to sync e-mail every 15, 30 or 60 minutes. My understanding of Push e-mail (i.e. Blackberry and Good) would push the e-mail to the device when it is received by the server. Not sync it periodically.
