...Seriously, that's why it's on the front page. - birch25, on 05/06/2009, -0/+39Are we that pumped about 10.5.7? We're going to install it and go about our business just like before, most of us not noticing a change.
- drlha, on 05/06/2009, -4/+41Wonder no longer: $0.
- Haz3rd, on 05/06/2009, -8/+40Ok, I must be missing something. What's so great about this update?
- videodroner, on 05/06/2009, -4/+29You should try Leopard.
- c010rb1indusa, on 05/06/2009, -0/+22haha i love how the mention of Vista immediately gets you dugg down
- Kellster, on 05/06/2009, -8/+23Lots of people. That's why it's on the front page of Digg you ***** RETARD,
- AngelBunny, on 05/06/2009, -0/+14it is a BIG update not only fixing a whole slew of issues but even has updated drivers as well as other things.
- soopafly, on 05/06/2009, -5/+17Whoa!! Free for a year?? So what happens after that?? Oh that's right, it shuts off every 2 hours. Have fun with that.
- RepublicofJosh, on 05/06/2009, -4/+16I dunno man. Have you played with the new Macbooks? I'm thoroughly impressed. This is the first Mac machine I've ever bought and I'm gonna have a tough time ever going back to a Windows based laptop.
I love the trackpad with the multi finger swipes. I do everything so much faster on this laptop. - scarz99, on 05/06/2009, -6/+17Congratulations! You've been selected to win a FREE MacBook Pro! Just email us your SSN and credit card number to redeem your FREE MacBook Pro! And once again, congratulations!
- billraydrums, on 05/06/2009, -9/+20I hope they fixed the perpetual crashing Safari.
- FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 05/06/2009, -8/+18mac kool-aid? this is reality. windows gets viruses, and the rc will deactivate in a year. sound like you're the one drinking the kool-aid
- scarz99, on 05/06/2009, -2/+12I concur. My MacBook is much nicer than any other laptop I've used.
- Exasperated, on 05/06/2009, -1/+11Maybe it's always been here.
- FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 05/06/2009, -18/+27and a virus will hit it tomorrow. deactivation in a year, and god forbid what fresh hell you'll have to endure between those times!
- aussieNickuss, on 05/06/2009, -1/+1010.x.x updates don't usually change much. I notice very little difference whenever my Mac updates.
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -3/+12What's that? Mac OS X is so good that it forced Microsoft into a corner and now they're giving Windows away???
- RepublicofJosh, on 05/06/2009, -4/+13I got a free printer when I bought my macbook! so HA
- Flipperbw, on 05/06/2009, -0/+8and more exclamation points!
- ruler4, on 05/06/2009, -1/+9lovelychode - try this to speed up your Windows box. It also removes all viruses and the botnet you're running.
Start -> Run -> cmd <enter>
format c:\ /q <enter> - antdude, on 05/06/2009, -1/+8Monday would be better snce Friday is a bad day to start and if problems come up, no one can fix over the weekend!
- t0ny, on 05/06/2009, -3/+10My copies of XP and 2008 get deactivated about ever other month. ***** annoying.
- geodebug, on 05/06/2009, -2/+9If you are going to troll, please spend a minute or two to make it witty or original. Your cut & paste blandness saddens everything around it.
- c010rb1indusa, on 05/06/2009, -1/+8Snow leopard my friend...soon enough
they didn't make Finder a cocoa app in Leopard because older PPC macs run carbon apps better. They didn't want something as basic a finder being a big problem on older Macs, but since PPC will be abandoned in the next iteration of Mac you'll get your badass finder soon enough.
I still like Finder more than windows explorer - scarz99, on 05/06/2009, -4/+10Dude, it's free for all the wrong reasons.
- nicc, on 05/06/2009, -2/+8@designet:
memory leak in what?
sync issues with what?
are these application specific?
(I havent used bluetooth on my Macs in years and I have NO issues with wireless...) - FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 05/06/2009, -1/+7to get you hooked and integrated into it so you're forced to buy it? oh, yeah, that.

- decoy9697, on 05/06/2009, -5/+10Halleluja, a new age is upon us! Glory be to 10.5.7, glory be!
- mattillac, on 05/06/2009, -2/+7i don't understand why this is noteworthy. maybe i'll never understand. my mac works just fine as it is.
- CaptainReid, on 05/06/2009, -0/+5Change we can believe in!
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -3/+8just get Windows 7. it's vista service pack 10.
- MacParrot, on 05/06/2009, -0/+5EVERY OS has its issues. It still comes down to personal preference. Get over it that some people like OS X and Macs more than Windows. So what?
- cfulp, on 05/06/2009, -0/+5While OSX is my primary OS now a days, back in my Windows days I used to get excited when nvidia released a new driver. I think it's more about being a dork, then an apple bot.
- kaytrio, on 05/06/2009, -0/+5Have you tried downloading Flash 10 directly from adobe? http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ It seems to fix most of the stuff I saw. Either that or delete the cache folder (/home/library/caches/adobe) and preferences folder (/home/library/preferences/Macromedia). Standard precautions apply... backup first, etc. etc. Sorry if you know this already. Just trying to help :)
- emt1451, on 05/06/2009, -8/+13Keep him at zero.
- MacParrot, on 05/06/2009, -0/+4Bolshevist, the whole point of commenting is that people usually care about whatever the subject is that's under discussion. To come in with a stupid comment like "Who cares? (which happens in almost every OS X article)", is going to get you dugg down as you are wasting everyone's time. If you truly don't care, don't digg and don't comment.
- scarz99, on 05/06/2009, -1/+5That's the sad part, Microsoft has to reel people in to get them to buy their OS when Apple doesn't need to lift a finger. A company with such a status as Microsoft shouldn't have to be releasing free stuff for their flagship product.
- macbookpro, on 05/06/2009, -1/+5Let's hope that they fix two issues:
1) Constant panics associated with suspend / resume
I have a Fall 2008 Macbook Pro, stock except for 4GB of Crucial memory and 500GB drive. On average every other resume from suspend results in a panic accompanied several seconds prior to that with several video corruption. Console almost always reports the issue as:
Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0
Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies):
com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement(59.0.1)@0xbc6000->0xbdefff
2) Video corruption on the duallink DVI to DisplayPort driver for 30in Cinema Display
On dark monochromatic backgrounds, particularly blacks, dark reds, dark blues, horizontal lines of yellow "static" overlay the background. Examples include web page backgrounds, widescreen videos, etc. There are no other rendering issues except on monochromatic colors (e.g. nothing visible on a photo wallpaper with dark colors). There are no rendering issues on the inbuilt display or when I connect a DVI or HDMI external display. - MacParrot, on 05/06/2009, -1/+5and cowbell!
- RepublicofJosh, on 05/06/2009, -6/+10The people that Dugg the article. (and the people that buried you)
- FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 05/06/2009, -4/+8free because even the slimeballs at microsoft aren't evil enough to charge for it.
- LeviTheSmith, on 05/06/2009, -1/+5!
- mason092, on 05/06/2009, -1/+5You aren't actually supposed to run the RC for that long. MS doesn't want you to run it for that long. It's just for testing. Windows 7 will retail long before then.
- Caio, on 05/06/2009, -2/+6ricopicouk, you really think you have to click on one to get infected?
