- Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -3/+28iPhone is getting games? We don't need no stinking strings to tell us this, it's just common sense.
- 10goto10, on 10/10/2007, -4/+25I wanna play a decent game of Copy 'n Paste
- fonz3r3lly, on 10/10/2007, -3/+16When did apple come out with a phone
- normalkid, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13These are standard strings in iTunes. The same strings exist for Apple TV, iPod, and Motorola iTunes-phones.
- dcharti, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Given Apple's emphasis on UI design, it'll be really interesting to see if these games are simply ports from previous control environments, like that NES emulator, or truly new games design to take advantage of the multi-touch, no-button environment.
- elvenseven, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Two words?
- csopelario, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Is this the usual 'haterism' that iphone users receive? I mean wow... Is 600.00 a lot for a 'smart' phone? I utilize the phone everyday and sync to my mail client everyday (IOW i use it for work). I had a choice between a blackberry and the iphone - i chose the apple because of the design and ease of use, browser, mail, etc., i do not believe that i made a wrong move in purchasing the device... I love the thing. If you own one, then I would respect the opinions out here, otherwise, it seems very much like those during the high school days when people who could afford (or were given) designer clothes or cars, were hated on simply because they, well, they could get them. I haterism comes with the package...
via a Geek who can buy an iphone without worry - normalkid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6hmm... I may be partially wrong on this... there don't seem to be Apple TV strings. but there are/were ROKR strings

Clearly no one was paying attention when PopCap announced that iPhone users would be getting free copies of BeJeweled. - Cwo655321, on 10/10/2007, -1/+61. Marble
2. Madness - superpixel, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10I have two words: Marble Madness. Seriously, wiping that greasy finger over and over again this way and that... Oh man, that'd be sweet. People would be dropping the thing all over the place, but hey, AppleCare doesn't cover that, so BOOM! profitmania!
- normalkid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4nope, here it is

- subliminalurge, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Yeah, 'cuz nobody uses phones, ipods, or web browsers.
- lordmike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3There will be games... just like there are games for the iPod.. all 5 of them... you'll get to play pac man and that's about it and you'll like it!!!

Steve Jobs - milkmage, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3'cause they're sooooo disappointed now...
- Zbrah, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4see http://digg.com/how
- devindotcom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah, I remember this rumor being squashed when AppleTV was coming out. Dugg for replying to yourself twice.
- samuelcotterall, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3You're not wrong.
Last week I was stood in the beer aisle in my local supermarket and three times this idiot pushed his trolley into my ankles - he had on an iPod and was sending a text-message and was so engrossed that he failed to notice, three times, that he was ramming his cart into me rather than an inanimate object. - errorjustin, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5I know for a FACT that iPhone games are coming. I work in the mobile games industry and I know many people who are building commerical iPhone games right now. They have been for some time, in fact. If you wanna know who, look at the comapnies that have released iPod games already
- frederoil, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I know for a fact you're a complete douche.
- NikF, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2iPhone Restrictive? My existing cell phone is not even capable of running anything other than digitally-signed network-approved apps. It's not the platform, mostly. It's the network. And that's the software that causes the issue, cuz the networks seem to be incapable of thinking of software as anything more than a branding exercise, never mind a UX point of view.
- Zbrah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm not sure if this is possible(but considering the iphone's OS,probably) but I think it would be crazy awesome if apple released some kind of controller and a bunch of games(real games) to be played in wide screen mode. Considering the focus on games at the keynote in january and the existing colaboration with EA games (I think it is) it doesn't seem too improbable to me. I'm not very up on this stuff so if anyone knows more about this, let me know!
- erhino, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3ZOMG!! Games on a Cellphone!
I'm still kind of shocked at the iPhone. I wish it wasn't as restrictive. You never hear of other smart phone companies having issues with 3rd party software being installed on their machines, and they seem to be doing alright, so how does apple get away with a line like that? Blackberry's allow 3rd party apps, as do Treo's...neither have had a nuclear meltdown caused by some developer messing up.
my .02 - dcharti, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Because digg's algorithm noticed enough people were digging the post so it got sent up to the front page?

- dummersack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1World of Warcraft on the iPhone would be crazy, but i don't think it could do that.
- therealmamacita, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Nice site! Looks promising.
- tnoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2How about that game where I don't have to use AT&T?
- spooniep, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Here ya go...
http://www.digg.com/apple/Nintendo_Game_Runs_on_iPhones_WITHOUT_a_Hack - mikev, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1does it have an ipod, rich html email, a web browser, and a multi touch interface?
- cleverboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'd rather bucketloads fo so-so games, than little dribbles of pretentiously "innovative" games. Just give us choice and let the market sort out which ones are losers and which are winners. Citing the NES emulator, let's get this straight... those a REALLY NICE games. I don't care if they have multi-touch being used to simulate multiple button combos. NEWSFLASH: It's still a use of multi-touch! If Apple just allowed the licensing of all these games as a $29 download "action-pack", there'd be an eruption of purchases. Even a subset of games as a pack would be awesome.
- frederoil, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2games on the iphone??? OMG!! What's next? MP3s on an ipod???? DUGG!!!!
- cleverboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, let's trick out that accelerometer and find out what it can *really* do...
- mikev, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1apple has teams of developers that work on leopard and the iphone, not the same people (anymore atleast, it's shipped)
- samuelcotterall, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No, you don't understand.
Those are good things that are already in the phone, I was simply suggesting that there is enough to keep the user entertained without the need for additional games. - schoate09, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2There are strings for ROKR, AppleTV, and many other devices that games never went to, or were denied for. Buried as inaccurate.
- pinniger, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3I paid $35 for my phone, and it has games.
- silverblue3in, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0This is all good. But what would really take the cake is a new game which takes advantage of the touch screen and the motion sensor (whatever it is called). Now is the time for someone to get creative with gameplay!
- schoate09, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2pwned
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2lol its a Mac... Sure games are coming
- Trainwrek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0...and the chances of the games being good?
- emadsenus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Nice! Until then, take your iPhone to www.iRovr.com to meet others with the device.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0In case you haven't watched this video before: iphone, it's much more than just a phone:

- emadsenus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1No, what's wrong with the world is pundits and critics who rag all over things other people enjoy.
- brxtls34, on 10/10/2007, -7/+7iPhone is the new Paris Hilton, anything and everything is news now.. who cares
- SuperMoses, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1BREAKING: Evidence found about the obvious!
- zezerik, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Yeah, Apple has always done so well in the gaming industry. I play my Apple Pippen all the time! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee It's masturbation and Pippen night!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I'm a Mac user! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
