- electricsurf, on 06/08/2009, -3/+124I wish there was video coverage of this event.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -0/+57Can someone explain me why at this TECHNOLOGY conference we can never have live video coverage? You'd think there would be at least 1 person with a jailbroken iphone streaming live video through the qik app or other similar app. It would be more understandable if it was a fashion show or something stupid like that, that doesn't have anything to do with technology.

- kurupttek, on 06/08/2009, -5/+49OMG OMG OMG OMG /S
- Dannymacuk, on 06/08/2009, -1/+40i dunno why people are digging you down.. i wish there was LIVE video coverage.. but the keynote video will go out sometime tonight..
- TylerDuhrdan, on 06/08/2009, -2/+30Blu-ray, Quad Core laptops, Mid Tower, universal any carrier format iPhone, dot Mac for free, i7 Core computers, ability to put any video card of choice in Mac pro's, HDMI.
Oh wait, I must be full of *****, that will NEVER happen. - lxplicit, on 06/08/2009, -0/+21I heard the iBoner lacks some features.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -1/+20Open Source no.
But what do you care?
You can't even code. - ryanonfire, on 06/08/2009, -0/+18This isn't Oprah.
- jammez, on 06/08/2009, -3/+21I don't know about you guys but I've been waiting for a new iPhone for ages!
- c5kirk, on 06/08/2009, -0/+17Have to disagree. I've been to a lot of WWDC's and the keynote is a very small part of the event. I don't think that anyone who pays for the full conference (plus the cost of travel/hotel/meals etc... if you're not local to the SF area) is doing so just so they can see the keynote... you're paying for all of the sessions and labs. I don't think that broadcasting the keynote live would have any effect on the sale of conference passes.
- athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -0/+15Wow, this has just hammered in the fact that AT&T sucks ass.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -1/+14Went to porn site.
In the bathroom.
Glad the iPhone has a backlight. - beachtrader, on 06/08/2009, -1/+14Interesting you mention fashion show. Victoria Secret almost brought down the net when it ran its first fashion show online. (way back when)
I bet they don't run video because then people (i.e., press, wouldn't show up in the numbers they do now). And by denying video you give all the blogs something to blog about creating more buzz. If it were just video, then there would just be the video and not as much excitement. - ryanonfire, on 06/08/2009, -0/+13iJizzed
- Konrad9, on 06/08/2009, -1/+13And it never will be, because Apple is still absolutely ***** retarded and will not allow live streaming from their press conferences. Unlike, oh I don't know, every other company in the entire world.
- aehtra, on 06/08/2009, -1/+10You're right! I mean why do people even go to baseball games when they can just look at the box score after it over?
- cowboyhoops33, on 06/08/2009, -0/+8Ya its components blow rather quickly, the longevity is just not there.
- Ardaen, on 06/08/2009, -0/+8Not really considering it's only been a year since the last. But that's not to say I'm not excited.
- MrChunks, on 06/08/2009, -0/+7I put on my robe

New iPhone, ***** yeah! - Jeffler, on 06/08/2009, -2/+9YOU GET AN IPHONE! YOU GET AN IPHONE! YOU GET AN IPHONE! EVERYBODY GETS AN IPHONE!*
*Conditional on 2 year agreement - SpiderTeets, on 06/08/2009, -8/+15"Even more complexity is present in Windows 7."
hahaha OMG NOT COMPLEXITY!
completely unnecessary - just forces me to remember that OS 10 is based on user stupidity and the want to be stuck in their glass cage; i'll have to give it to apple, they have their target audience locked down tight, be afraid of scary computer science and VISTA technology! Don't turn to the COMPLEX side, it will only muddle and confuse you the user!
besides that things have been kind of lack luster, same old iphone OS notes and OS 10 info - macmcraeart, on 06/08/2009, -0/+7iPhone was sexy
But my erection has passed
Show me something new. - MacParrot, on 06/08/2009, -4/+11Apple Hater yes?
It's only a phone for God's sake
Just let it go please - LucasHenderson, on 06/08/2009, -0/+7Just so people know
Pattern is five seven five
Syllables that is - Warom, on 06/08/2009, -1/+8Not really any point in watching it after you already know all the announcements.
- Konrad9, on 06/08/2009, -0/+6They could, they just don't. And they don't even acknowledge the fact that people WANT to watch it live, the closest thing they do to that is kick people out of the conferences for trying to stream video or audio. Absolutely ***** absurd.
- UKsHaDoW, on 06/08/2009, -1/+7Well snow leopard does have some interesting "computer science" stuff in it, like grand central and openCL.
It just avoids bringing it to the user, which is what you want. However if your user gets to exposed to actual computer science, something is going wrong. That stuff i mentioned is more software engineering. - JasonHilton, on 06/08/2009, -1/+6Apple blocks ALL streaming video ports on their WWDC wifi network. I don't think anyone would want to watch WWDC over AT&T's 3G Network...
- s0ny, on 06/08/2009, -0/+5Apple actually does all the other blogs a favor by doing this. If it was streaming everyone would just sit and watch the video. Instead, we all just f5/CMD-R like a ***** giving blogs millions of hits.
- MacEnvy, on 06/08/2009, -0/+5Apple used to stream all of their keynotes live via Akamai, but it ended up being ridiculously expensive to pay for the bandwidth and they stopped. At one time many years ago, Apple keynotes were said to be the number one biggest cause of bandwidth use on the Internet when they ran live.
Then again, bandwidth is a LOT cheaper now, so that excuse is pretty flimsy. - gamepr0, on 06/08/2009, -0/+5This isn't it people, this is macworld, not the wwdc, don't be fooled.
- dilly323, on 06/08/2009, -1/+6From the Gizmodo coverage:
Jason Chen:
I just did a quick scan of the eople in front of me and I literally only see two women. - motivatedguy, on 06/08/2009, -0/+5That's the Macworld keynote, dude. I don't think there is a live feed of WWDC
- tnoy, on 06/08/2009, -0/+4Its trivial to push video through any random port.
- benderillo, on 06/08/2009, -3/+7http://live.gdgt.com/2009/06/08/live-wwdc-2009-key ...
- TheNik, on 06/08/2009, -0/+4You could easily upload a video stream to a server on port 80... You make it sound as if someone would turn their MacBook to face the stage and use iChat to stream the webcam to thousands of people.
- ryanonfire, on 06/08/2009, -1/+5I just jizzed!!!
- stealthspc, on 06/08/2009, -0/+3Real live feed:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/apple-wwdc-09 - JasonHilton, on 06/08/2009, -0/+3er, that's http://osx411.com
- schnikies79, on 06/08/2009, -0/+3For one, they are not allowed. It wouldn't take 3 mins of watching a streaming video coming from someone in the audience to figure it who it is. Then you are asked to leave.
If apple doesn't want streaming video of their events, then so be it. - MacParrot, on 06/08/2009, -0/+3Very pathetic
People don't know Haikus geez
Dugg up for knowing - drex8, on 06/08/2009, -1/+4I will digg you up even without the /S tag. Lot of people are excited about the new iPhone software upgradfe. It's sad that this makes the Palm-pre launch really lame. But the resurgence of Palm is a step in the right direction, because it'd keep other moble OS's like Apple's and Android's fast changing and competitive.
- ihavebeenseen, on 06/08/2009, -9/+12COPY AND PASTE IN
NEW OS
SO STFU - Jeffler, on 06/08/2009, -1/+4I find it funny how they have better pics and live coverage when the press conference is an hour away
- wastern, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2There have been many times I read the announcements, then watched the video and realized the person reporting mis-interpreted what the presenter was saying, or flat out got it wrong
Also, seeing someone demo something is better then just reading it.
And, I'll admit it. I like watching it at work with all the Mac haters around who's ears perk up and start listening intently and then watching. The keynote where they showed Tiger off was the best for that. When someone is forced to listen to what is really there vs blindly hating they tend to change their tune and stop giving me so much ***** for having a Mac. In fact, most start pricing them out halfway through the keynote - wastern, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2all laptops updated and new iPhone. Good call
