- rabidgnome, on 10/10/2007, -10/+131Sue the record companies for selling the songs to Apple, not Apple for distributing songs.
- sterntastic223, on 10/10/2007, -9/+116But he did his own deal via Apple...he had his own ipod commercial and everything, remember?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -8/+95What's even more entertaining is the first comment under the article itself:
If you had one shot... one opportunity...
to seize everything you ever wanted... one moment...

This opportunity comes once in an album, yo! - nacc, on 10/10/2007, -7/+80He's suing apple for making people BUY his music while 70% of the rest of his fans are downloading his music ILLEGALLY.
does anyone else see the irony in this? - lordtyros, on 10/10/2007, -42/+105Well, eminem is ***** anyway.
/bring back real hip hop - unloud, on 10/10/2007, -4/+52Again?
- unicronband, on 10/10/2007, -33/+77I wouldn't really classify what Eminem does as "music".
- corvin, on 10/10/2007, -2/+43Yea, well, apparently he doesn't.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -6/+37eminem's MANAGEMENT is suing, im sure he is pretty far removed from the situation.
also, it's not apple's job to make sure the labels are playing by the rules, eminem should be suing the record label for violating his contract - CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -3/+33''I only wish Eminem could relax and enjoy all he has: his unique talent, and his smooth white hair, which brings to mind a beagle's nutsack. He should lighten up... I mean, my mom was a bitch too, but I don't go writing songs about it.''
- Palaceguard, on 10/10/2007, -7/+33Apple should remove his songs. The hell with him
- tonaros, on 11/14/2007, -3/+25I'm tempted to bury as inaccurate. Eminem himself is not involved in this.
- cusoman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21Eminem is about to go the way of Lars Ulrich.
- Munja, on 10/10/2007, -3/+21They are sueing Apple because Apple is refusing to remove the songs.
- o0joshua0o, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20Mars, Incorporated should sue him for trademark infringement.
- danwallace, on 10/10/2007, -9/+27Do people still use "dope" in that context or am I watching Fresh Prince reruns again?
- danwallace, on 10/10/2007, -3/+19That's cool. Take them off iTunes. BitTorrent is free.
- cjmal, on 10/10/2007, -9/+24Would you rather listen to an an eminem song or "this is why im hot"? Yeah, though so.
- Falldog, on 10/10/2007, -10/+25Silly whitey, don't you know that artists don't have rights over their music?
- Barbarino, on 10/10/2007, -4/+18I'd pull all his ***** off of Itunes.
- chris9902, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12It's amazing how many people don't read the article before making a comment. And the way Eminem used that orange to beat that gorilla to death was shocking.
- transeunte, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12I'm getting tired of coming to Digg and seeing the same rhetoric over and over: rap is not music, all rappers are sexist bastards, there is no such thing as racism, Bush sucks and STOP THE DRUG WARS. Can we, as a community, move away from all this *****?
- singlegirlgeek, on 10/10/2007, -7/+17Eminem sues everyone.... Heck he'll probably try to sue us for commenting on him. He needs a clue.
- helikopter, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14don't give me that. he chose a manager. they "represent' him. so ***** both of them.
- edru, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12He's a horrible producer, all his beats sound the same, same arrangement all these triumphet marches. He was the ***** back in the day of his mixtapes, once dre got a hold of him and turned him HipPop then it was all down hill.
- madmage, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Okay, he danced in the friggin commercial, I think he "Authorized" the commercial.
- helikopter, on 10/10/2007, -10/+18homophobe. there's nothing wrong with moby.
oh, god, it's not brimming with masculinity and bottled up trailer trash rage and guitar solos! WHAT KIND OF PUSSY WOULD LIKE THIS ***** - AttilaD, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11Not a Hemingway fan, cawpin?
- mraustin1337, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8WHAT?! They should sue all the 17-year-olds who downloaded it for free.
Oh wait... - Munja, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10I believe its more to do with only getting paided 9 cents per song.
- AndrewJC, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11But that's just it: they don't HAVE to obtain permission to use material. They just have to pay royalties and other license fees.
Eminem couldn't stop me if I wanted to record a cover of one of his songs, because the law states that I can do so as long as I pay him for the use of his song. It's the same with Apple: they pay mechanical use fees and he can't stop them. - edru, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9You cant sue the record company once you've signed a deal with them because technically - THEY own his music, he doesnt own his own. Thats why they are suing on his behalf, and he is not doing it directly.
- CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -9/+16Mody has more talent in the corn in his ***** than Eminem has in total...
- Drahkar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Well, I'd say the 'Fair Use' clause on copyrighted materials is now officially dead.
R.I.P. Fair Use.
Beginning of Time - 2000
'You gave us a lot of happiness and for a time a brighter future. You will be missed'. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -8/+14First sign that your career is washed up.
- rasterbator, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10Marked as "Eminem is Gay and Lame"
- beathermit, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8then that would mean drummers are not musicians.
- dondara, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Dugg for the Triumph reference
- merreborn, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9You: "But he did his own deal via Apple...he had his own ipod commercial and everything, remember?"
TFA: "The lawsuit also includes the use of Eminem’s song “Lose Yourself” in an iPod commercial."
I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the article's right on this one, meaning your wrong -- eminem never authorized the commercial *or* the iTunes sale; his label did. There's a pretty good chance that eminem signed all his rights away to his label ages ago, and doesn't have a leg to stand on. - Jdub7, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8I would contend that Eminem is the best rapper around today. Not based on skill but on "Real Content." I may not agree with the content but it is more real than money, cars, and bootie. I agree "bring back real hip hop"
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Metallica, weren't they a heavy metal band before they sold out and changed their name to Nickleback?
- geekee, on 10/10/2007, -10/+14As if I needed more proof Eminem is an idiot.
- GMorgan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Ah, if the artists assert themselves against the industry then the industry themselves will do away with idiotic things like the DMCA. This is an analogue to how patent trolls will eventually force the big software companies to campaign against software patents.
- WoollyMittens, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Stop spamming your website.
- w33tz, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9Thats just retarded...he should be happy if anyone purchases his music...well not music more like whining!
- cusoman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Drummer from Metallica... of anti-Napster fame.
- infobhan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3What do you mean they are suing on his behalf? The record company is not suing Apple.
- merreborn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3He's already *getting* the money.
FTFA: "While Eight Mile Style and Martin Affiliated are reaping the monetary rewards of having music distributed and sold through iTunes..." - MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Wait, he writes garbage that will get him airplay to "mock" the system but they are also windows into his soul? I guess he's more talented than I thought!
- enginbeering, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Because of this, I'm going to TPB it.
