- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -0/+51IT'S A (RIAA) TRAP!
- mikenike192, on 03/20/2008, -1/+50The windows beta version doesnt support over the internet right now... but the Mac version does :)
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -2/+43As soon as Digg gets a PM system we'll get right on that.
- Agenda, on 03/20/2008, -7/+46***** THE RIAA!
- Yodzilla, on 03/20/2008, -0/+31Well, every song in my library is ripped at 192 from source disk. Just because it's in iTunes doesn't mean it was downloaded from iTunes. Stop being a dick.
- muxton, on 03/20/2008, -1/+29Only problem with it I can see is the file names it generates ! The original filename is lost and the downloaded files have names such as A2C86639114885A1.mp3....
Pity it could generate a meaningful name, it restores the original MP3 tag info so I dont see why it couldnt use that to create filename ? - PimpinOnWelfare, on 03/20/2008, -1/+29maybe that is a good thing ;)
- vicsvenge, on 03/20/2008, -0/+25when's the last time you were on the same LAN network as the RIAA?
- shmatt, on 03/20/2008, -0/+25ftfa- "it's fully ready to go on Macs, and currently in beta for Windows"
haven't heard that one in a while outside of Cupertino... - corporalclegg24, on 03/20/2008, -0/+20This is amazing, works perfect, like iChats interface but you just download their music easily.
- hadak, on 03/20/2008, -4/+21I've been able to do this better for a long time using a program called myTunes. (It's a java program. Cross platform. Look it up.)
- bobthegreat1224, on 03/20/2008, -2/+18Sorry kid, you're at the whim of the masses. There is no prevailing logic but that of the fickle wind.
Deal with it. - inactive, on 03/20/2008, -2/+17How long before the RIAA starts sharing files and handing out subpoenas?
- dontswimtoshore, on 03/20/2008, -1/+16welcome to 2 years ago.
- tkidBOSTON, on 03/20/2008, -0/+14Look it up? Okay...

- wphj, on 03/20/2008, -0/+13Apostrophes aren't just for when you say "Oh *****, here comes an S"
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -0/+13I can see how that would be more convenient than being able to browse someones entire library, listen to and download any song....
You ***** idiot. - bakerster, on 03/20/2008, -2/+14anyone wanna try this? lets give this a go. pm me w/ username
- mrynit, on 03/20/2008, -3/+15Yar, har, fiddle di dee. If you love to sail the sea, You are a pirate!
- Gabberwok, on 03/20/2008, -1/+13Any bets on how quickly this gets broken by a new iTunes update?
- Paal, on 03/20/2008, -1/+13YOUR WALLET CAN'T REPEL LAWSUITS OF THAT MAGNITUDE!
- fuxjoey, on 03/20/2008, -1/+13as long as the name appear in itunes, then i dont really care about the filename.
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -1/+11You mean OurTunes? I'm pretty sure OurTunes hasn't been working for a while now.
- molezooka, on 03/20/2008, -1/+11When do we get iphone/ipod touch App?
- Agenda, on 03/20/2008, -0/+9Oh YEAH! And get a 5kb/s download rate with a limit of 5 downloads at a time. GENIUS!
- Vhaeos, on 03/20/2008, -0/+9Damnit I wish that it wasn't over LAN only. I guess it'd work if you set up a network over hamachi. But that's kind of a hassle.
Here's the link to the windows beta, since it's kind of buried;
http://deusty.com/forum/index.php?topic=32.0 - counterplex, on 03/20/2008, -0/+9You can configure iTunes to store all files named after the ID3 tags.
- earthceltic, on 03/20/2008, -3/+12we know, we know already
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -2/+10Points for originality: 0
- Virgule, on 03/20/2008, -1/+8"if you feel paranoid over a piece of software you are probably right"
--some guy from somewhere - PimpinOnWelfare, on 03/20/2008, -0/+7im on xp and i can't even make it to the mojo ui w/o errors/crashes. i'll wait for a stable windows client, give it a chance to catch on too.
- MacParrot, on 03/20/2008, -0/+7I am NOT PARANOID! Why are you all against me?
- igraham09, on 03/20/2008, -1/+8I don't have any friends with Macs, and I'd still like to try this ***** out...
So please go STFU. - rauz, on 03/20/2008, -1/+7Yes he can. At least if it's an Intel.
- KSUdesigner, on 03/20/2008, -0/+6iTunes will share your libraries without a third party app if you're both on the same network. You just need to activate sharing, located in preferences.
- HonoredMule, on 03/20/2008, -0/+6One of the oldest: apache
Install on the machine with the music, set up an alias, similar to this:
Alias /MyMusic "[path to itunes directory]"
<Directory "[path to itunes directory]">
AllowOverride None
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>
Use a dynamic dns service and forward port 80 on your router, and now anyone can check out your music with a web browser or music player that can scrape web links. I typically fetch my music from work with Songbird this way.
Now this assumes you're not stupid enough to keep a library full of DRM'd music just because the company that sells it has a really cool persona... - inactive, on 03/20/2008, -0/+6Finally, a decent replacement for OurTunes.
- PimpinOnWelfare, on 03/20/2008, -5/+10prove it.
- celkin, on 03/20/2008, -0/+5Soulja Boy sucks.
- Sibre, on 03/20/2008, -0/+5It shows you which songs are DRM'd...just don't download the songs highlighted in red.
As far as quality...well, if they ripped it themselves, then you can hope they ripped in high quality. - DreKor, on 03/20/2008, -1/+6It took me a second to realize you meant Steve Jobs and not that giant douche who hurts himself for money.
- thanatosys, on 03/20/2008, -0/+5I seem to be having trouble connecting, is this happening to anybody else?
- Agenda, on 03/20/2008, -2/+7Depends on the bit-rate.
- edrift101, on 03/20/2008, -0/+5Never, I hope... F'ing RIAA rats.
- rebotfc, on 03/20/2008, -1/+5This is actually pretty neat, looks like it's very straight forward and easy to setup.
