- smokeyghetto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Its free because iclip4 is probably just about to be released and any free iclip3 free-for-alls are going to need to pay to upgrade to iclip4. Which, by the way is going to be awesome.
Just a great marketing idea. Its a great piece of software. Have been waiting for this upgrade for a while. - AssProphet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Yeah this has been given away multiple times... since iClip 4 is on the horizion they are trying to expand their userbase.

Well, technically you don't:

- heyitsme23, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5if you guys want FREE so bad, just go to freemacware.com, they even have a widget of when new things come out, and Ive seen about 10 or so apps that do the same thing as iclip.

Extremely useful tip. Thanks a bunch. - SkeletaLlama, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2They do tend to give iClip away for free quite often. But it gets people to try it. It's one of the most useful apps I've tried in a long while. It's useful for web browsing with copying links and pasting in text fields and for applications like Photoshop where I can keep multiple images in bins to paste in when I need them. It's free and saves me time. I like it.
- stewacide, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3The clipboard memory module in Quicksilver accomplishes the same near as I can tell...
- cwcheang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yea true... the only os x app that were given away free (limited time and amount) was the appzapper i think.. it was on digg.. i got it and i still get free regular updates..
this is a bit like Opera. Gave away free codes for the non ad-supported version and next day it went completely free forever. i remember furiously getting the codes (i got a different 1 each and everytime.. should've suspected something) for all oses and pasting them onto notepad. damnit. - mikev, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5anytime there is a free os x app, it's iclip.
i'm not complaining - but he must have lost a lot of money :S - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1There is also iClip lite, which won the design award from Apple last year,
The bad news is, its a widget So you need to access your dashboard to get to your clipboards.

iClip (and iClip lite) are great for repeatedly replies to emails. Its great for eBay sellers who have to answer the same questions over and over (such as: Yes, we shipped your product yesterday.)
Anyhow, this is a great find. Thanks for the link. - cliktokill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1anytime-somethings-free
im-IN - Donut, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2its been free for months now. ive been using it for quite some time just because it was FREE, not as responsive as id like it to be, but it does the trick.
- onetoad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Cool, you can't beat free.
- jimbocook, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1UM, it says click here to download but there's no place to click. I'd blame it on poor site design not supporting my Mac but that seems unlikely in this case.
- chrem88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The Version Is 3.7

Didn't see anyone else mention it, but there is a free (always) app called XShelf which is pretty neat and provides clipboard saving with drag and drop.

- Paralex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Awesome! Free stuff.
- revmitcz, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1I haven't checked yet, but... isn't this going to need a serial number or something?
Seems wild it'd be totally free.
Though, smokeyghetto's comment below does make it all a little more sensible. - patrickyan, on 10/12/2007, -17/+1did you realize who told spammed you to digg the story MIKEH
