- monzsca, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22He has to drive it 88MPH before it will boot. Not very practical.
- kalphegor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Next step, Flux Capacitor.
- hattrick35, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16When the mac mini is traveling at 88 mph will it travel time too?
- markthegoth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Great Scott!!!
I bet that suckers nuclear!!
He Built a macintosh, out of a Delorean! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15Pretty good idea but..
How much cooler would this project have been had he had used a Kia Spectra and an eMachines Pentium 2 with Windows ME? - Korvaras, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"My other car is a Mac"
- nailbunny, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14yeah, i looked at them. i expected something better. like a picture of a computer installed in a car.
- RonWorkman, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13There are a ton of pics. You have to go to the "Why a Delorean " section. I posted this clearly in the summary.
- BassCadet, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14130 horsepower, 0-60 in a blistering 8.8 seconds. Runs on cocaine, brylcream, and gold chains.
A 1986 Dodge Caravan is faster. Now that's sad... - Giever, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6No, that sucker's electrical, but it needs the nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity it needs.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10In 1985 computers were the size of a small 5 year old plus the monitor.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6why would they ruin a delorean like that
- Disease, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Up the shut *****
- tbaker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6But does a Dodge Caravan turn heads?
- Korvaras, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5This is also appears to be an amateur here, who probably doesn't have all the tools and ability to do everything "perfect". You do it better.
- plasticated, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Who the ***** still wears tie die tshirts like that?
- Kriz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Who the hell buys a Delorean and doesn't put in a Flux Capacitor?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+13Yeah I bet if they had installed Linux you guys would ***** ride the hell out of it...dumb fanboyism on this site
- earthtoandy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I figure if you're gonna build a time machine, build it with style!
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3First of all - where are you seeing Ferrari Dinos for less than a Delorean? I just checked on eBay, and the average Dino is going for $90,000 - $100,000. The average Delorean is going for about $30,000.
Second - you're talking, but I can't see any links...
Third - are you just hating to hate? Or have you done something better yourself? - hereisandy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I would like to see the pictures of that, have a link.
- ehpexs, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7This guy did a bad job. I've seen people that do this to a old Ferrari, which are pretty cheap now you can get dino for less then a DeLoran. They manage to fit a 21" screen in the dash and had the comp hidden. It was a very clean install, this however is a bad install compared to that one.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2All the pics are in the other sections of the site, found on the top of the main page. There's actually quite a lot of 'em.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7it really has nothing to do with being a mac or running linux or win or whatever...........The install was meh and a projector is just a bad idea for a screen period.
- bmcnitt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Putting two good things together does not always equal something better. The Delorean and mac would be better left unaltered.
- nicklinus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3wow, this is the same setup I have except with out the car. lol
- StammesOpfer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I like it the idea of putting such a large screen into a car of that size and integrating everything so well is really very impressive
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2What I find funny, is how the guy's bragging about going to car shows and showing his car off, talking about how much money he's spent on the damn thing... While the screen he's projecting to is a badly cut piece of solid-core cardboard.
- fusenmuse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The dock was a little shoddy. He ran a remote power switch to the dash through the hole where the modem would be (his mini didn't have one). It needed two wires running from it, so he used an old mono audio jack. Why not use a RJ-11 jack which would fit the hole and look a hell of a lot better?
- techmaster7b, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Would have been a great idea, except he now degraded the value of the car by putting in a mac.
- letterten, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's way cool, but did he spend 30 years and his entire family fortune on the project? Nevertheless, Doc Brown would be proud.
- jacinto, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3It would have been cool if he had put the mac mini where the flux capacitor is on bttf.
Because the mac mini is what makes computing in that car possible. - christianw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1his install is completely ghetto...
Now what i'd like to see, is what speakerworks of orange would do with a setup like this. Those guys are unreal. - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm actually interested in the Nash Metropolitan you can see parked in the background on the "why a Delorean" photo. Is that his next project?
- Sal42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1does it call me Michael? oh wait, KITT was a Trans Am.
- 9mmCensor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1For someone with an entire page devoted to fiberglass [ http://web.mac.com/bryce84/iWeb/DeloreanMacMini/Fiberglass.html ] its a shame he doesnt know what it is...
"Essentially, fiberglass is a two-part resin and hardener."
Which is wrong, because fiberglass is fine FIBERS of GLASS. - RonWorkman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Your exactly right. The Mac Mini isnt that bad for what it is, but its still OSX.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It's a Peugot engine. I guess Delorean couldn't source Trabant engines at that time.
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It'll have to for all the 5d rubik's cube solving algorithms :)
- ccunni, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1one of the first uses of i-web I've encountered. i knew at soon as i saw the slide show. i found that more interesting actually than the "carputer".
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+9Wow Athens... You're a total fag.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1what is that music? sounds like blueman group but not..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0@Giever
1.21 gigawatts? Nah, he still needs to power the flux capacitor remember ;) - lucask, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2not very clean and neat, very scrappy and kindergarden.
- EamonnMurphy, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3hide this comment, i made it in error. There should be a delete option.
- MrClean101, on 10/12/2007, -14/+6Still doesn't make a delorean a good car
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -16/+4Lame. This is so 1985.
- tutivlahos, on 10/12/2007, -21/+7Lame article, sorry. No dig.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -17/+2Can I get a license plate that says "OUTAMMRY"? :-)
