- ryanmm, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention. I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story from an operative deep inside apple. I need all of you, to stop what you're doing and listen. CANNNNOOONNNBALLLLLLL
- MadOtaku, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4No it doesn't. It started out to mean "internet", as the iMac was the first mac with a modem built-in. "iPod" was a reused name, of a failed internet terminal, Apple wanted to build at one point. Other than that*, it's mainly third-party accessory-makers that throw the i's into everything.
*iMac, iBook (dead), iPhone, and iPod - MrMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@katalieb:
It's a conspiracy! oh wait... - macaddct1984, on 10/12/2007, -8/+11http://www.applegazette.com/macrumors.jpg
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8I have heard that iBooks will ship with Windows Vista installed.
- KDX200rider, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6It is bad enough that every crumb that falls from the Apple requires five digg posts, now we need to encourage more?
If I read one more inane post about the iPhone I am going to be sick. And no I won't want to block all apple posts, I would like to read the ones of real note.

- arbulus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The babies better have a lot of diapers to pay, because that could get expensive.
- onidraky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They don't need a chip. They've already got defective batteries.
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1When my kids were little there was no need to "charge" their diapers as they would usually be full on their own not long after installation
- KnifeFed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"An Anonymous tipster has advised us to expect a Flash based iMac or Flash based iPod Nano in the NAB 2007"

Apple will be launching a new computer that can totally eas up your life.
I mean this new system will take over your house. It will wash dishes for you, cook you breakfast, and as a bonus it will charge your babies diapers. - insovietrussia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm pretty certain the 'i' as a prefix in marketing existed before Apple started using it.
In a discussion with some marketing types a few years back I was informed that it means "integrated", which seems to make sense. - arbulus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2ultra portable mac pro tablet to be released on monday. it's not what i thought. i've said too much.
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3@WildBill

- nuclearpenguins, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2That's no rumor.
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1What? You mean you don't believe that our Apple informant told us about a flash-based macbook pro coming out in the last quarter of 2007?
- MrMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I like apple too (hence the name 'MrMacMan')... but the rumors being posted here are from random blogs who have no prior history of success.
Check a real site like MacRumors.com or ThinkSecret.com. - juss55, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I got the best rumor. Microsoft is going to buy Apple by the end of the year. LMAO

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3new rumor: Attaching "i" letter to your product doesn't make it any better. iReally.
- emorphien, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1@timdigg
Yeah that software and processing has been on a lot of laptops for a while. It's not that good and with the speakers on laptops and their placement I don't think it's getting any better. Supporting it through a digital connection would be the best or even supporting surround processing for headphones should work a bit better. - Aero1, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Here is another rumor: Steve Jobs has a vagina
- TinMan, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Sorry, but the 5.1 surround sound is only on the new Iphone.
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4Here's the thing though...companies like Google and Apple use rumors or buzz to help decide what to do next, its actually pretty obvious that this is the case
Why not, Rumors/Buzz = what the market demands
IMO the iPhone is nothing more than a product of rumors/buzz
They look at what everyone was saying they should do...and figured if it all this buzz is created over a rumor, if we made a real phone...people would buy it
If tech companies want to know what to do next........just read slashdot/digg/engadget/(insert tech blog) and they will tell you...sometimes we're right and sometimes we're wrong
Take Google for instance, many people view google as MS pt2....thing is I think thats the wrong direction for Google, trying to compete with the MS office platform..is a no no...google be advised, unless of course Schmidt pulls some of his old sun strings and brings Open Office Online...
It's funny to me Google pays millions a few pennies to bloggers for multimillion dollar ideas... -
